Paddy Says….Gameweek 6

The wise counsel of Paddy Power is back to guide us to learned teamsheet decisions with a hearty slice of anytime scorer and clean sheet odds thrown in.

And there’s more than a few tempting deals for new customers on offer this week from Paddy, although not quite as tasty as the one Paul Hollywood’s squeezed out of Channel 4.

Leicester might only have one away win to their name this season – the movie reference that is in Bruges – but the 16-1 on offer for them to beat United could make you a killing. You can also get 5-1 on the United win.

There’s also 16-1 available for a treble on Spurs, Everton and Liverpool all to win – generous indeed for a trio in such prime form.

If you’re intent on watching this evening’s kick-off, wincing with every Diego Costa challenge, you can spice things up further with odds of 8/1 on an Arsenal win or 10/1 on a triumph for Antonio Conte’s men.

Five league matches, five wins – no-one’s in better form than Man City, so 5-1 on them beating Swansea looks more than doable, while Southampton at West Ham could go either way, but 8-1 for the Saints to march away with a victory is well worth a look.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

And so on to the meat in your Paddy pie.

He’s back and his odds are as short as his legs. Yep, Sergio Aguero (1.53) returns from his three-match ban primed and ready to add to his three league goals for the season and maybe cost Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin his job while he’s about it.

If you fancy your legs longer (and ego bigger), Zlatan (1.90) will be looking to punish a Leicester defence that’s coughed up five goals in two away matches so far. Marcus Rashford (2.80) is a longer shot but he’s on it – a goal in his first league start last time out and another in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Romelu Lukaku (2.25) also has form on his side, and Bournemouth in his sights. The big Belgian has four goals in two matches which, coincidentally, is the same amount (from the same matches) that the Cherries have shipped at home.

And never discount Diego Costa (2.50) against Arsenal. He might be about as welcome at the Emirates as a Fancy Bear at an NHS data protection meeting, but he’s got five in five in the league and after getting most of the Gunners sent off last season, fate almost demands that he’ll do more damage this afternoon.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 6

TeamOdds
Liverpool1.72
Manchester City2.10
Manchester United2.29
Tottenham2.50
Stoke2.70
Everton2.70
Watford2.87
Crystal Palace3.10
Burnley3.10
Sunderland3.20

Clean sheets have been a bit of a rarity this season and the odds reflect it.

Man City (2.10) have managed just the one so far, in last week’s mauling of Bournemouth, but Swansea are averaging less than a goal a game and have already drawn two blanks, one of which was at home.

United have two shut-outs to their name but have conceded five in their last two matches, so 2.29 looks a bit meagre for visit of Leicester. The Foxes might have failed to win on the road in the league, but they’ve not failed to score in either defeat.

Everton (2.70) have won three in a row, and two of them involved clean sheets, so they look a more attractive proposition, particularly against a Bournemouth outfit with just three goals to their name.

And Burnley have kept things tight at home – one clean sheet and just two goals conceded in three matches – so their 3.10 price is tempting. If they can stop the ten-goal Watford juggernaut, that is.

Is Amat much more nailed than Kingsley?

On WC - thinking of spending 0.1 to switch Kingsley (bought at 4.0) to Amat

Even though it's my 5th mid it seems to be worth the 0.1 to pick up Amat who much more nailed

Am I losing the plot, or is it worth the defensive sacrifices in this WC team to get the upfront power?

    Pickford (Jaku)
    Holgate, McAuley,Smith, (Kingsley, Amat)

Really didn't want to get rid of KDB as I swapped him in for Sterling last week lol, but:

      A)
      Pickford (Jaku)
      Holgate, McAuley,Smith, (Kingsley, Amat)
Antonio, KDB, Firmino, Capoue (Oriol Romeu)
      Costa, Kun, Ibra

      or

      Pickford (Jaku)

Good chance you'll be playing with 2 defenders this week. Way too exposed with those two cheapies. Baines to Williams and upgrade one, or Baines to Coleman and upgrade one to Amat at the very least. Foster to Pickford is another option to upgrade one. Nice midfield though, like the city triple up

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

Who are you captaining this Gameweek and why?

Particularly keen to hear from anyone who isn't captaining Aguero.

Yeah, good luck with that call.

If I didn't have him and had to look elsewhere then Firm tickles my whiskers this week for some reason.

      Has to be Aguero.

Ibrahimovic, as I don't have Aguero. Expecting Swansea to make things difficult, as they did for Chelsea.

If you havent got aguero it has to be a Liverpool player, we need to put a statement of intent down and beat Hull convincingly, tempted by Firmino

Aguero. Tempted to go Mané though, as he is a huge differential in my private league. But having him is enough, cant afford to loose ground with others captaining Kun

      Ig(c)halo 😛
I play without Aguero as a rule, it makes this game more challenging and enjoyable for me, and why him?
We'll his a proven goalscorer, not really shining this season but stats are there, Watford playing decent so far and maybe most important - late captain, just love to keep my (C) for the last game of GW.

As long as you're having fun then that's as good as it gets.

Higher ranking can be achieved by using Kun.

      Ibra.

At home. More goal attempts/on target than most. Scored every home game.

60% ownership another factor. He is too well owned to get rid of. Anyone who has booted him is in for a torrid time of it.

Hull's defensive stats and Mané's potential make him a no brainer captain choice for me.
      Don't have Aguero...yet!

      Aguero.

Honestly I prefer Firmino this week, but I already captained him (and sold him after!) when he played Burnley and now that I got him back I'm don't think i'll risk giving him the armband.

Pro tip: Don't trust Liverpool players against 'poor' teams.

Zlatan for me against a defensively poor Leicester side. Pens. fancy a United turnaround (poss without Rooney). Above all far too many people captaining Aguero which, rather than make me follow suit as it should, without exception always makes me look elsewhere.

Firmino. I'm gambling on Swansea keeping Aguero out.

Would you play a Swansea defender for his clean sheet points today?

Would seriously consider Mané if I had him. Eriksen/Alli could also be worthwhile. But as I have none of those it's Aguero.

You would captain Mané if you had him? Im very tempted but I dont dare not going for Aguero...

Aguero. Hadn't considered anyone else apart from Lukaku.

Payet. 4 assists and a goal in 2.5 matches. Bang in form in a team who haven't even played that well. I expect the hammers to bounce back on Sunday.

I think owing aguero is enough for this match. Swansea are no push overs at the liberty and he'll have one eye on champions league.

Firmino, huge attacking team and a false nine.

Not sure about both. 1 is enough for me.

        Gut call.

I preferred the money saving spent elsewhere.

On WC, so more longer term than just this week.

          Cap is 5th.

Ars, Liv, Mc & Antonio in mid.

I have Sanchez Mane Firmino Antonio Capoue

Aguero Kaku up front (Diomande on the bench)

            Nice line up.

            3-5-2 isn't for me.

I'm enjoying Cap's points as an autosub, no where near a 4th for me.

            Good luck with it man.

Cheers bud, I had 1.6itb till i switched lovren for clyne a couple minutes back.

I opted for 3-5-2 up until Capoue dries up then will switch it up!

                Feel for you.

My WC team had been set since Wednesday. The Holebas news and then Lovren tweet has thrown me.

I can't get my head around Cap, only watched 2 full games though, others highlights only. Doesn't feel like I'm missing out on last seasons Mahrez though.

Pool mids points do look like they will be spread, so could be a good shout.

I fancy some Arsenal mid points also over the next few.

Guessing you have Sanchez, firmino, sterling.. I was looking at Mane to Sterling.

But as you said pool mids spreading points around as well as Aguero being back I kept Mane

I think Mane is a great option.

I couldn't afford him and don't see enough difference over Firm to justify.

It's true if I had to just pick one it would be Firmino.

Firmino - you'll need the money some day...
