The ScoutCast – Episode 199 – Buttons

Jonty knows just what buttons to press.

When he slyly accuses me of adopting the template midfield, I’m visibly rattled. Leaping to defend myself, Jonty claims victory in this bout of Fantasy manager mind games and may have forced me into a hasty transfer I will come to regret.

Andy and Luke watch on, but it’s not long before they earn our attention, having pressed significant buttons of their own – both are post-Wildcard.

We analyse their Gameweeks, move to recite tales from the community and then take on another round of your questions, which finds us looking into yet another player relationship theory that will have Roberto Firmino owners rather concerned.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can grab the old fashioned mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or watch me get riled via the Google Hangout version in the second player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Would you WC this next gw? have 2m itb and ranked 300k atm 🙁

    Foster Jaku
    valencia stones friend souare pieters
    firmino antonio sterling ozil capoue
    kaku ibra benteke

    Reasons to WC:
    - Bring in Kun but i can do that on a FT with ibra > kun
    - Sort out defence, apart from valencia...they have been horrible
    - Not that keen on ozil although he scored last week.
    - unsure about kaku/benteke, mixed fixtures, main men for their teams
    - Can sort out both gk (jaku dropped and foster has tough fix)

    Reasons against WC:
    - I can get Kun on using a FT
    - i am generally happy with my mids apart from ozil
    - Is defence a good enough reason to WC? i can gradually sort them out plus stones/friend haven brought point but have great fixtures and good value for their teams
    - Not really sure how i will structure my WC team...have both ibra/kun...can ozil/wally make up sanchez points, is kaku needed during mixed fixtures...deeney viable 3rd fwd if i have capoue..get rid of capoue as i have made money already

I would probably do it. Gotta use it before Jan and this international break will probably open another can of worms for you. Play by ear. Aguero in next week 100% though.

Having all three of these players im predicting Aguero will score about 7-9pts.... One of Lukaku and Sanchez will score 12-16pts and the other will score 1-2points

Id probs pick the wrong one everytime so i guess ill go kun

Anyone playing Baines I recommend playing him last on the bench. Can see him coming on with Koeman's emphasis on
can't "risk" a start, rather than 'he's out we'll see when he's back' - I assume he will back after INTL break but he might come on so beware. Most likely 0 mins but more likely to come on than start imo.

It looks like being quite a split captaincy this week, which usually means it's a good time to pick someone who is a bit of a differential as there is no one dominant choice ready to single handedly punish you for a poor decision.

This week's slight differential of choice is, remarkably, the best player in FPL, in form, playing the team he has the best record against.

Aguero(c) with less than 18% popularity amongst the best players? I'll quite happily take a shot on that.

    1. COYS Down Under

Best home form against Spurs but he's away to them. Also Spurs defense is quite different now than when he punished them. They're much more solid.

Still all the captains are in with a shot.

It's true that Spurs have improved but (arguably) so has City's attack.

The fact that the game is at WHL is a factor but I have a weird irrational notion that more games finish 4-3 there than any other ground in the PL, so it doesn't worry me as much as it should.

Tough call man you can't go off past statistics though Aguero has 9 in 10 against Spurs yes but they've had different players in different form at different times , I'm split between Sanchez and Kun currently on Sanchez but I've burned before and I have 30 points to make up in mini league

That's kinda my point though: If it's a 50/50 call between Sanchez and Aguero then surely you go with Aguero as there is more of an upside due to his lower ownership? The usual downside of that logic (being more exposed if he blanks) is ameliorated by the fact that the rest of the captaincy field is pretty split between Sanchez, Ibra and misc.

If I was wildcarding now I would take the opportunity to cash out on Capoue. He isn't good enough to be a fourth mid and is too expensive to be a fifth mid imo. I would sooner take the profit on him now and make better use of it elsewhere in the team, rather than probably have to spend a ft doing it later.

Other than that, your team seems reasonable enough I think.

Diego Costa and Eden Hazard scored in both Premier League fixtures against Hull in 2014/15. Indeed, five of Chelsea's last seven PL goals against the Tigers have been scored or assisted by Costa and Hazard.

Hmmm... Liverpool have won only one of their five visits to Liberty Stadium in the Premier League (D2 L2) - 1-0 in March 2015.

    Morning all!

    Pickford Foster
    Williams Shaw Morgan Evans Amat
    Antonio Özil Sterling Bolasie Capoue
    Aguero (vc) Ibra (c) Negredo

    1FT 0.3 itb

What do you think I should do:

    A) Sterling -> Lallana/Firmino
    B) Shaw -> Any defender I can afford, who?
    C) Save ft and have 2FT after the break

Not keen on making a sideways transfer with Özil
