The festive fixture list finally draws to its conclusion this evening as Tottenham Hotspur welcome Chelsea to White Hart Lane at 8pm.

Four of the top seven captains for Gameweek 20 – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku – have already found the net earlier in the week.

The remaining three, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane, have it all to do, then, with Costa the most popular of that trio – 11.6% have backed the Spain international, compared to Hazard (4.7%) and Kane’s 2.8%.

Costa, certainly, has been the more impressive of the Chelsea pair on his travels – the Spain international has scored eight away goals compared to Hazard’s two.

Yet the league leaders won’t have it easy – Spurs boast the tightest home defence in the top-flight, with just five goals against in front of their own fans.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been similarly resilient, conceding just one goal in six away matches since Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 set-up.

Nonetheless, many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on Kane along with Deli Alli and Christian Eriksen, with the fixtures set to smile kindly on Spurs from Gameweek 21 onwards.

      More likely to - will defend deeper which should reduce the threat from early crosses. Kane will be more of a threat IMO.

      Wonderful team! I wish I had such a high team value (It is defoe instead of Giroud and Brunt instead of Alonso for me).

      I wonder about the goalkeeper situation- I think a cheaper keeper could keep pace with De Gea, whose points per game are quite low. The extra money would allow a pickford or/and Holgate upgrade.

        My only issue with that is with my defence I'd never play my 5th defender or 2nd keeper anyway!

    To clarify my Costa point.

    Apart from the beginning of the season I haven't owned Costa.

    Costa has scored a lot of single goals.

    I can get that from Defoe for £3m left (I can't understand anyone who doesn't own him). Then you play the fixtures with the other 2 spots.

    I have owned Austin, Ibra, Kane and Kun. All have exploded and been great captaincy options. For that price you need to be a captaincy option.

    Defoe can spend his whole season getting a goal most games. My heavy hitter striker cannot.

    Costa is the most over-hyped player in FPL.

          If most had captained him every week they would be better off IMO. Aguero, Kane, Ibra, Hazard, Sanchez blanks been costly over the season for many.

      His 10.7 seems decent enough value going forward. He's played well, works hard, finishes well. Not explosive but steadily accumulates.

        He is the 2nd highest scorer in the game - it is absurd to call him over-hyped! He doesnt have to be a captaincy option, although he clearly is, and if you had him as captain every game you'd have an incredibly high score now. I'm looking at a wildcard atm, with a relatively poor team value, and I can accommodate Costa, Defoe, Ibra, Sanchez, a spurs mid, another spurs mid/Coutinho. There are plenty of captaincy options if you dont fancy the regular points of Costa.

        It doesnt have to be a case of Defoe or Costa but Defoe and Costa and Ibra/Kane/Aguero. Others may be more explosive than him, but they have less points because they blank more often also.

          But I have a high enough rank and I have picked form players who can explode with good fixtures as captains. I believe my rank would be lower had I picked him as captain every week.

            But you rank does not change the fact that Costa is the second highest scorer in the game. It is possible to be number one in the game without Sanchez, but doesnt change the fact that Sanchez is a great pick.

            The idea that a captain needs to be explosive is a fiction, when we all will suffer multiple weeks without a goal or assist for a captain, or just with a goal or assist. I expect that the majority of players in this game would have made more points with Costa as captain, barring the week he missed out with suspension of course. On top of that, there are certain games you'd not captain him for. This week, and Arsenal away early in the season, are the most obvious examples. Liverpool away would be another.

      I'll not call him over hyped but I do agree he's not necessarily worth owning. Depends how you see the game. I don't want to double up and I bought Hazard for 9.9. Hazard is a potential captain, Costa isn't really. That's why I don't own him.

      I've had Costa all season for 9.5m - he's only had the armband once as not shown signs of scoring big in a single match.

      And you're wrong. Firstly, you can have both Defoe and Costa. Secondly consistent points is a good thing, you can captain other big hitters if they're more explosive and have fixture/form etc but having 'safe' points isn't a bad thing.

      To be honest he's one of the highest scoring players and that reason alone is enough to say he isn't over-hyped. That and that noone is raving on about him in the first place anyway.

      Well, selling Alli a few weeks ago didn't really work 🙁

      Okay, getting him back in (just as most others will be doing). Only question is for who?

      A. Hazard ... not producing much, but next two games are pretty juicy (Leicester and Hull). Feels like I might be regretting selling him just as much as I regret selling Alli. But still an option. If got rid of him, would roll the dice on either Giroud or Lukaku with my extra $.

      B. Lallana ... not explosive, but punching well above his weight. Tough fixture next vs. Man U. Fixtures ahead are a mixed bag, but some easy ones in there.

      C. Phillips ... seems crazy to even consider given the exceptional value he offers. Hard next fixture, but great fixtures after that and has been racking up the points at a bargain.

            Leicester haven't been too bad at home, or not as sucky anyway and in my head (not sure how accurate it is) I don't feel Chelsea score big in their games. In that time Hazard will drp and Alli will rise. Alli will almost certainly score between now and then too. Hazard MAY score.

      I'm keeping Hazard for two more gameweeks. I sold Sanchez and Hazard earlier in the season just before they exploded. I think selling a well rested Hazard before games at Leicester and Hull isn't the best strategy. By the end of the season, he'll outscore Alli.
