The Big Numbers – Gameweek 21

Our usual post-Gameweek members article arrives this evening, as we cast an analytical eye over some of the standout performers over Saturday and Sunday’s ten fixtures.

Spurs’ red-hot frontman chalks up some outrageous statistics on his way to a hat-trick against the Baggies, while Dusan Tadic is more sinner than Saint after spurning chances aplenty. Elsewhere, Robert Snodgrass shows the benefits of a central role under his new manager and we check in on the impressive figures being produced by Arsenal’s overlooked wide man.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

not worth a transfer unless you desperately need the cash....or find something else to upgrade Ake.

Palace's fixtures were terrible. And then he got injured against Swansea. Zaha has gone to Africa so Palace are lacking creativity. Benteke hasn't suddenly become a bad player. Is he a good fantasy pick?

    Sanchez Eriksen Siggy Phillips (Allen)
    Giroud Ibra Origi

Suggestions? Willing to take a -4.

    Siggy >
    1. Stanislas
    2. Coutinho
    3. Pedro

    Giroud to:
    A. Kane (won't be able to afford Cout)
    B. Lukaku
    C. Costa

Yup. Was leaning more towards Coutinho/Pedro in those options but didn't see Cout play to know how rusty he was.

Pedro then seeing as you have no Hazard. and have a think on what to do with Origi. Giroud could well be fine for Sunday, at least for pressers.

      Sanchez or Hazard
Hull have improved under the new manager but that in way means Chelsea won't bury them. Got a feeling about Haz, problem is I know most of my ML will captain Sanchez.

      1. The Big Fella
        • 7 Years

How are you doing in the mini league? If you're leading or close to the top, might be better to captain Sanchez...... I think having Hazard will be enough, should he score.

        1. bigbudgie
          • 9 Years
          7 years, 5 months ago

In 4th, 56 behind, so not too worried at this point. Leader does not have Haz

I'd go with Sanchez personally. I think it is safer and I think if Hazard does something, just him being in your squad will be enough

Dosen't matter just find a way to upgrade one and then use the other as bench fodder. Depends if you want 3 Chelsea in the future

      1. jia you
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 5 months ago

Good point but I think 2 'starting' CHE players may be enough going forward (in the medium term at least) with the options that are available out there. And you never know there is a slight possibility that Ake gets a run in the team and may be worth holding as a 5th def for a while as a wait and see.

Get rid of Ake in case he snookers you from getting 3 starting Chelsea players

    3. The Big Fella
      • 7 Years

I'd get rid of Ake. You're more likely to want 3 Chelsea players then 3 Swansea ones (even if you never actually do it) and he is worth more so less from the bank to upgrade him. Probably less likely to play too, to be honest.

The no Costa may be a blessing. He plummeting and now if feels too late to pull the pin. I don't have Liverpool either. A 5-0 would really sting and someone is overdue a hammering.

        Alonso Brunt Baines
        Sanchez(C) Lallana Pedro Phillips(VC)
        Rondon Lukaku Ibra

        subs: Heaton Alli Friend Ake
        1.6 ITB

        1. Any suggestions for the starting line up/bench?
        2. 3-4-3 with Rondon or 3-5-2 with Alli? I just feel that Rondon will get more points than Alli this gameweek
        3. Should I do Lallana->Coutinho before his price rockets? Who do you expect to be more involved in points long term? I've had Lallana since 7.3 so if i sell now i make 0.2 profit
        4. Ake will have to go at some point to free up the 3rd Chelsea spot. Who should replace him to that low price? Thinking of Holgate/Yoshida
        5. Thinking of doing Alli->Eriksen as I expect the Dane to be more involved in points, would you do it?
        6. Any other thoughts about my team?

        Thank you guys!

          1. Pretty solid
          2. 3-5-2 with Alli. Kane and Alli and Eriksen are the hot 3 right now
          3. Too soon to go Lally to Cout- see how he does this week; tough Pool fixtures; lateral move
          4. Ake to Chambers
          5. Lateral move
          6. No change is really needed - very good

About to pull the trigger on my transfers right now to catch prices.

Only option A leaves enough cash ITB for a late Giroud ➡ Lukaku for a hit, depending on news. Thoughts?

        Grant
        Jones Alonso Brunt
        Lallana Sanchez Alli Sterling
        Ibra Kane Giroud

        (Hennessey, deRoon Ake Nyom)
        1FT 0.2ITB

        A) Ake Sterling ➡ Baines Stanislas -4

Atleat you know he's taken a hit so you could possibly match him with 2 FT to upgrade your defence if you wanted.
If i see our ML leader take a hit it encourages me to do it too, if i have weak links in my team

I'll probably save this week if possible. Need Kane to continue his form and City to score mainly.

What are the chances that Wenger will manage Sanchez's minutes to keep his as fresh as possible for the Chelsea game?

Thoughts on Stanislas-Carroll to free up funds and get rid of my benching headache problem?

Would then have funds for Daniels-Rose/Walker next week.

Benching headaches may be a good thing to have with potential blank game weeks coming up

Great description of aguero by jonty in tonights scoutcast
        'a midfield thug'
From a pure footballing point of view its sad what pep has turned aguero into!
How can a so called great manager like pep not recognise the quality of someone like aguero & ask him to be in midfield to feed in sterling/silva.......i hope a journalists just asks him the question one day

My guess is that Peps idea of that is hopefully to drag any markers out of the last line of defence with Aguero and cause some space for midfield runners to get into... weather it's a good idea or working is another thing

Why use one of the best strikers in the PL to do that though?! He should be menacing in the box.. thats where his abilities are best suited

I know. It's crazy! But I also said worse about him when he forced Eto wide and then out completely

Is Pep a great manager though?
He never won the champions league with a club like Porto or anything

Didn't even win it with Bayern.

He's just the guy that was there when Messi came through.

I believe he is a great manager. Watching barca before him and then once he came in was amazing. Such a contrast. And then after he left they never really reached that level again until last season.
However I also believe he tries too much sometimes and out smarts himself by over thinking which can be his down fall

Yep, managers should adapt to the players at his disposal. Its much harder to change all the individual players.

Whatever is happening at City, they weren't good enough when he arrived and they still aren't good enough. Given his record, I think he deserves some time to turn things round.

Needs to show he can be less stubborn I think. Its a bit like LVG at United.
