The ScoutCast – Episode 216 – Confessional

I am a Fantasy Football manager, and I’m addicted to double Gameweeks. It’s a confession that the ScoutCast team are all too eager to admit in this latest ScoutCast episode.

Recorded prior to the confirmation of the first double Gameweek of the season, we were nonetheless correctly counting our chickens and allowing your multitude of community questions on Manchester City assets to steer the chatter.

Granville rejoined Jonty, Andy and myself to reinforce our investigation in Pep’s charges and to add his views to the heated Triple Captain debate surrounding Sergio Aguero. Yes, him again.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, pastry and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Get someone from Spurs from GW29 onwards.

I made the same moves, and plan to bring Lukaku straight back in for 28.

      Impossible to know.

Aguero is a rotation risk in my opinion.

Certainly I expect him to be subbed early in one if not both games.

But - if he gets 75 mins in both you have the best player in the league in red hot form against two of the lesser sides (and I'm a stokie!)

The average of 75 mins in both is what I think will happen.

If you are chasing and not averse to hits you could get a city mid for the double and then switch to Siggy next week.

I don't like suggesting this though as personally I don't take hits unless injuries etc.

I was contemplating the same thing yesterday but got talked out of it, probably is wise to hold Alli.

He's always got the potential to score against any team and then you've got 7 points vs whatever Sane can get (-4

Yep, thats an issue. He has pretty good record against those sides in last 5 games. Something like 5g against Sunderland and 6g against Stoke. So history is in his favour along with okish form.

It's not just Sergio and city's form either.

Sunderland and stoke are shipping goals.

Don't get peer pressured into this though. I have someone this exact advice earlier in the season when he wanted to captain firmino and was getting pesters on here.

15 point haul and the big hitters blanked...

Surely not going to TC, its about getting him or not in my case.

Will have to take out Costa and Alli. Wont have Ibra(c). Mawson to Fernandez. -8pts.

Also need to look at % ownership I guess. getting a potential extra 10-15 pts from a 20% owned player now could work wonders.

Damage might not be so big later on when a Ibra/Alexis is TC(you would capt them anyway that week).

Morning all, best move for GW28?

    A) Sterling -> King
    B) Sterling -> Siggy

    B) looks better in isolation, but A) means Firmino/Kun -> Sanchez/Kane works in GW29 for no hits.

    GW28 team:

    Jaku
    Baines, F Mori, Brunt, Robertson
    Mane, Firmino, Snoddy, Sterling*
    Lukaku, Barnes

    Grant, Stones, Eriksen, Aguero

Cheers. King and Barnes also rotate fairly well as my 7th attacker up to the DGW in GW37

WHU, SWA, sot, STO, mid, eve, MID, sun, STO

If going B then I'd probably delay getting Sanchez until GW31.

I put a post up on this page saying he is a rotation risk and even if he plays he could get subbed early in one or both games.

It's just percentages. A 75 minute appearance in both games is appealing.

He is the best player in the game and in form. If you've played the game for longer than this season you will struggle not to have an affection for kun.

    Hi chaps

    Jaku (Heaton)
    Alonso Coleman McAlley (Baines Mee)
    Siggy TCarroll Sterling(VC) Phillips (Antonio)
    Kane Lukaku Aguero (TC)

Is it worth it Antonio -> Sane -> Antonio in GW28? I lose 0.1 on TV.
Effectively this is -8 and if Sane will get more than that - I'm in +

    1. willgriggsonfire

      1. Deus
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

Yes, that was my reasoning as well, but stay with me.
Sane will get at least 2+2=4 points right? If at least 1 clean sheet it is 5. So he needs like 1 assist to make 8 points total?
Also he can score, make more than 1 assist, 2 games = 2 times for bonus points
        So min 4 pts and realistic max 16 (2 games 1 goal 1 assist 2-3 bps 1 clean sheet ~ 5 + 4 + 3 + 3 ~ 15 pts)
        (16+4)/2 = 10 points average. 2 more than 8 for double swoop .

        1. Deus
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 3 months ago

          His last 4 games: (7 + 6 + 2 + 5) / 4 = 5 points average.
For 2 games same 10 points average.

          Incorrect maths here.

You need to take Antonio's 'lost' points into account.

He should get at least 2 this week which you will miss.

Hard choice. Baines going to be busy with Walker around. But the pens ans set pieces concern me. I have the same problem. Maguire don't play. 50/50after that.

See who has Everton defenders with Mini League rivals. Most will play an Everton asset. Lose ground a possibility not playing him. I think Baines has better chance of a big score than Phillips but Phillips a safer 2/3 pointer.

    A) Keep (saves 2ft and He's in fine form who can score against anyone on his day

Would there be official news of DGW34 before GW30? I am looking at WC by GW30. Thinking is the team will
be a mess after the city DGW and the BGW28 so want to rebuild team as early as possible.

Sound logic. Gives the WC more potential over a longer period, but you'll have to be smart to cash in on the DGW

GW34 would be a mini DGW
GW37 would be a biggie .. for bench boost

looks Aguero(TC) this week is not a bad option.

Can you explain the reasons why 37 is likely to have more DGW matches? Forgive me if this was explained earlier somewhere.

I'm curious because I too am considering TC this GW. Usually 34 is the big DGW while 37 is bit of a dud because of end of the season stuff and perhaps some teams having already achieved what they want.

Moving away from talk of Aguero (TC), Sterling etc etc *yawn*...

What's everyone's view on having an "assistant manager". I'm away on holiday in Cuba for a fortnight from GW33-35 and anticipate seeing no wifi for that time (not on a resort and can't see the other half being happy with us sitting in an internet place for an hour a couple of times during the break). My plan is to pass my details to a (trustworthy) ML rival with a list of transfers for while I'm away. Ignoring the fact that there are likely doubles, injuries, suspensions etc, which could screw me over, some other ML rivals argue that this is akin to cheating. Thoughts?

I would take the risk of there being WiFi. Unless you're actually going to the middle of the Arctic I'd be very surprised if you can't at least get mobile roaming.

Personally I wouldn't have a problem with it. In fact I have done something like this but it was my son who was manager and me the assistant.

I have never been to Cuba before; but surely cafes and restaurants have free wifi you can access? Perhaps you can get up early and pop down to your local cafe before your good lady gets up?

Apparently it's at least an hour to get access and then only for an hour. Assume it's linked to years of trade embargoes. Can only access with a government issued card (which is what takes an hour to get). Poor holiday choice haha

Been struggling with whether to TC
I think it boils down to this

    Reasons not to TC
    1. Pep and his rotation

    Reasons to TC
    1. Form. 4 goals in last 2
    2. City banging in 10 in last 2
    3. Jesus is injured which means aguero is their main man up front
    4. Sunderland away and Stoke at home are currently two of the best fixtures, stokes record away to the top 5 is appalling,
    5. If I wait, the fixtures will probably be worse.
Ars could well end up with Southampton/Utd or palace/Spurs

    Utd- Burnley/mcity or Southampton/spurs

    Spurs- palace/Utd

    Chelsea- Wat/ Wba
Chelsea likeliest but Costa isn't TC material for me. Not explosive, consistent 6pts a game

So it's not kneejerk for me, I think those factors mean I must do it now

        Good point
        It was Huddersfield reserves
although I think Monaco are a good team, I have watched them a few times this season and thought they would beat city over two legs
It was just one of those games
