The ScoutCast – Episode 221 – Spurred

Despite reeling from shedding Son Heung-min prior to his 19-point haul, I can’t avoid acknowledging that Spurs are currently the go-to source for Fantasy talent – particularly now that Harry Kane is back in our lives.

Jonty, Andy and Az join me for this week’s ScoutCast, which transforms into a tribute to Kane’s Gameweek 33 potential, with the striker enjoying a far different appraisal to his rival across north London – Alexis Sanchez.

With three successive blanks, the Chilean is burning many a Fantasy manager, and, once again we use the airwaves to vent our frustration.

Elsewhere, on the eve of the double Gameweek announcement, we chew over the offerings on show at Palace and Southampton, before rinsing through the weekend preview, with GreenWindmill keeping score.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Monday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No I don't. I can't see him playing 4 games in 10 days between the 2nd leg with Anderlecht and GW35 with Swansea. I'd worry that he'd at least be rested for Burnley (3 days after Anderlecht) with the manc derby 4 days later.

I suspect I'll still bring him in, but I'm really not sure about captaining. Zaha might be my man instead!

Im debating whether to WC in GW34 or GW36

    Wildcarded
    GW34
    Valdes (bou SUN)
    Stones (MUN)
    Hazard (SOT)
    Sane (MUN)
    Negredo (bou SUN)
    Plus 4 points

    GW35
    Yoshi (HUL)
    Hazard (eve)

    vs

    Non wildcarded
    GW34
    Jaku (WAT)
    Davies (cpl)
    Baines (whm)
    Siggy (STO)
    Alli (cpl)

    GW35
    McAuley (LEI)
    Alli (ARS)

I think a GW34 WC team would probably outscore the non WC team but need to take into account catching the price rises and getting players like Hazard in early. Is the GW36 WC really all that appealing?

But if I WC in 34 i'll have 4 DGWrs in 36 without a hit. and 10 DGWrs in 37 with the following 5 SGWrs

        Valdes (SOT)
        Holegate (WAT)
        PvA (HUL)
        Zaha (HUL)
        Lukaku (WAT)

          • 10 Years

Then you have to hope that none of your DGW players and 36 and 37 will pick up injuries or cards. Could leave you in a very difficult. It just depends on what your team needs. If you think wild carding for 34 is the best option then do it, you could prosper from it.

    3. Individual
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 2 months ago

I went for it last weekend and got an immediate boost. I just wanted value for my WC, and I was at ~100k not really moving week to week so I needed that extra little momentum. Plus I was also worried I couldn't get all the players in I wanted - wouldn't be able to afford my team is I wc'd now!! A good DGW37 team is easily attainable with a little planning. It's lucky that 34 is so unappealing (imo anyway) as it's not really worth overloading on the teams in it, leaving the way clear to own valuable Spurs/Chelsea players instead through to the end from now 🙂

      1. Kings of Lyon ★
        • 13 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

Thats exactly what im thinking. People are being blinded by the DGW37 and cant see the impact its having on their team.

        1. Individual
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 2 months ago

I reckon if you're thinking about it and can get an awesome team at 0.0, do it. You get an instant boost and it's so easy to get a good 37 team as a lot of the players you want already have DGWs in any case!

I realised that if I staked it all on late WC, I was just doing what everyone else was doing - and everyone else, it felt like, was currently doing at least as well as I was with similar teams moving away from a GW-28 heavy line up. I was taking hits every week to remove players on top of dealing with injuries, so I figured I'd save myself 12-16 points long term at least from hits and also get the players in now I'd want for the rest of the season... so my front 7 is currently:

          Hazard Eriksen Alli Sanchez Zaha
          Kun Kaku

Couldn't fit the midfield in unless I did it last week... I'd have had to compromise so much in 37 with the current rises (e.g. choosing Townsend over Zaha or Pedro over Hazard) and I just fancied getting those players now haha...

If you are wildcarding GW36 and still have your bench boost and TC left, when are people thinking the best time to TC is?

Gabbs or Sanchez 36 I reckon 🙂 you have to WC in 35 though

A disinterested Sanchez on the wing and you'd still TC? I am debating Lukaku this week to be honest

Yeah you may have a point - I've burnt my TC already (Kun,27) and still a bit bitter maybe hehe 😉

So Chambers is very, very close. Will he walk back into the team?

Not too sure who their DC pairing is atm - Gibson and Bernardo? Surely Bernardo is now out for Chambers if he's back. Dk too much about Boro though 😀 except Barragan, who I now know intimately through owning him.

Kane. Need to take a gamble in my ML to try and make ground.

Lukaku is the safe choice but I'm having an awful season so nothing to lose now.

Sweet yeah makes sense. Can't get Kane in this week so I'm going Eriksen and hoping he assists him haha 🙂

Pulis once again talking about "one or two bruises", boring..
This mystery made me keep Phillips a lot longer than I should earlier in the season

Phillips and stanislas are probably my two worst transfers I have made all season.

      🙁

Would you do any of these for a hit each or wait till next week?

    Vardy > Ibra
    Siggy > Zaha

      Tempted by the first one.

Sets you up for the dgw. Vardy could see limited minutes.
