Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Gameweek 36 – Friday

Double Gameweek 36 gets up and running at the London Stadium this evening as West Ham United entertain title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur.

The visitors roll up knowing that a win would take them to just one point behind Chelsea at the summit, with attacking trio Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen playing a prominent role in many Wildcards selctions over the last few days.

All three have merited our attention.

Kane – who has already picked up 13 points against the Hammers in Gameweek 12 – has seven goals and three assists in his last five starts and is second only to Alexis Sanchez in our Gameweek 36 Captain Poll, with 11% backing.

Eriksen has delivered double-figures in each of his previous two road trips, while Alli’s run of eight returns in the last nine Gameweeks has taken him to nine points off the top of the FPL player standings.

Devoid of a Double Gameweek, Fantasy interest in West Ham’s assets is minimal at best – the main impact will be their ability to breach a defence that’s conceded just once in their previous six.

Slaven Bilic’s side will take some solace in their 3-2 loss at White Lane back in November, though – that was one of only five times that Spurs have conceded more than a single goal in the league this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

West Brom have had more headed goals attempts on target than any other team this season. Only three teams have conceded more headed goal attempts than Burnley.
    http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/public-stats-tables/view/15174/

If West Brom score 2 or more headed goals today, I'm going to be analysing these matchups every week!! Could be onto something...

Yep, it has. Over the last 7 GWs, Leicester have conceded the most headed goal attempts, 25 of them!

Come back Captain Morgan, all is forgiven. I wouldn't be surprised to see a much more mobile centre half next year to replace Huth. At least I hope so.

Chelsea still need another win to seal the deal, so I'd imagine he'd get one game at most. Tbh I reckon he's more likely to play in 38, assuming they win Conte will want to give his first team a victory lap at Stamford bridge vs Watford.

The fans will be crying over what could have been (again) and praying Alli, Kane, Eriksen etc don't get a big injury which rules them out of next season.

Utd will be saving their players for the EL final.

Two schools of thought regarding Kane I reckon.

    A. Spurs are likely to concede the title race and thus have little to play for. Two away games out of three and the one home game is against united who will likely park the bus.

    B. He's going for the golden boot, Poch will want to help him in that respect. Also Spurs will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last season's meltdown and finish on a high.

Which camp are you guys in? Trying to decide whether to keep or ship.

    3. diesel001
      • 7 Years

      A. It is not about Kane. It is about Spurs the club. They have nothing to play for - they will finish 2nd whatever. So there is only one thing to do - make sure their vital assets do not get injured - imagine one of them got an ACL injury - it would destroy next season. That means Lloris, Rose, Trippier (if Walker is on his way out), Wanyama, Alli, Eriksen, Toby and Kane will be rested.

Any plan for a transfer to take me higher? I will be using bench boost.

    Ozil - Sanchez - Eriksen - Alli - Hazard

We just don't know. Keep and cross your fingers for the players you have

If WBA manages a surprising 0-0 (I know... but did you expect thé WHM win?) they will have to play main players vs Watford

Agreed. Currently, only Messi or CR7 would tempt me.

Shearer would be essential for captaincy alone. Lampard in his prime of course too, think he is still the highest scoring FPL player of all time.
