After Alexis Sanchez ended Double Gameweek 37 with a season-high 27 points, Wednesday night’s meeting at St Mary’s has a lot to live up to.

Southampton entertain Manchester United in the penultimate showdown of a seven-day round of fixtures, and it’s fair to say that Claude Puel and Jose Mourinho both owe us a favour after their recent penchant for rotation scuppered many best-laid wildcard plans.

The Saints’ boss reinstalls a number of regulars after the 2-1 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday. Snapped up by 40,000+ and 27,000+ respectively for their second successive Double Gameweek, Jack Stephens and Manolo Gabbiadini return to the first XI along with the likes of Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond and Cedric Soares.

Despite mustering just a single assist in his last six league outings, Gabbiadini is his side’s most captained player, with 15,000+ handing him the armband for the Double.

Fantasy faith in United is at a low as Mourinho looks to keep his main men fresh with one eye on next week’s Europa League final against Ajax.

Marcus Rashford continues to be used sparingly on the domestic stage and is handed a third successive appearance on the bench, though Wayne Rooney is named in the first XI for the fourth successive league outing.

Having found the net in three of his last four Gameweek appearances, the Red Devils’ skipper is the most captained FPL asset among Mourinho’s starting line-up, with almost 28,000 affording him the armband.

      Gabbi to Giroud would be good but I see you already have 3 arsenal players.
      You could look at Benteke or Llorente, don't fall for a not nailed Origi unless you're sure he'll play.

    My ideal transfer would be Hazard and Gabbiadini to Coutinho and Sturridge, but I'm 0.2 short of that now.

    Means if I'd want that I'd have to take a -8, still do it or any other alternatives look decent enough?

      Have 2FT. Haz --> Cout will definitely be one of them, but at a loss to know what to do with the other.

      Don't particularly fancy ditching Alli or King. Guess I could do Willy --> Mignolet but feels boring!

          Thank you - and yep maybe that's the way to go. Boring but solid. I'm at 1,812 OR now, about 19pts off top 1k and with Vert, Alli, Kane and Albrighton still to go this GW. Would love to make it but the GW38 options are doing my head in!

        Could obviously use second FT for either Alli or King --> Fabregas, Lallana, Siggy or someone else. But wouldn't have much confidence in newcomer outscoring whoever I ship out.

          Thanks Ham, agree that he's probably the weakest of the front three but I think he will start and if I'm taking Haz out then not sure I want to risk ditching Costa too. Cheers though

    Just realised my Grant PVA Daniel to Pickford Holding and Kompany -12 just broke even.

    Both got yellows unfortunately but was lucky with Kompany clean sheet. 1st time that's happened to me

    Real shame Stephens didn't start against Boro, was quite impressed with him last night, although really it was a nothing game and United didn't exactly bring much to the game.

    Attacking wise though I thought it was all Yoshida. Last night Stephens seemed to be on the ball from every corner. At one point he crossed in for Yoshida - if Jones hadn't gotten in the way it may have become FPL legend.
