As covered in Sunday’s Knee Jerk, it wasn’t supposed to be like this, so in this week’s Technical Area we’ll be digging through the rubble of another disappointing weekend at Wembley and dissecting exactly what seems to be ailing Spurs – and in particular their talismanic forward.
Lukaku missed a pen, had 6 attempts (4 in the box 3 on target) and created 2 chances vs Leicester. Lets not pretend he played badly now..
I brought him in for Jesus last week with the same thoughts but wish I hadn't, better a week late etc.

Putting it out there. But i thank now is the time to put hazard in. I reckon him and morata will be great together. And at 10.5 imo thats cheap cause i can only see his value going up. Plus i reckon after international break he'l get some game time against leciester. And i can only see him doin well

I think theres a good chance Kane blanks next week not for a lack of shots from Kane, but because Everton are just so damned defensive. They showed vs City that they aren't afraid to play an extremely defensive lineup (5 at the back with 3 defensive mids) and they almost won the game there. It seems likely to me that they'll employ similar tactics vs Spurs, a team who might especially struggle since their only real source of pace in the team is Son.
Problem is though a haul vs Swansea is a real possibility so if I sell Kane I'd want him back for that.

Fixtures are the same as they were when we analysed in pre season. The likes of Saints, Hudds, Man Utd are still quite favourable.
Surely better off holding the WC until the next break when Chelsea and Arsenal and Everton etc now have those fixtures?
Best rule for WC is just use it when you need it. Simple as that imo

That's true, but there are shades of 'need it', like replacing three players because the WC is about to run out, or an entire squad of 15. You can think you need it one week and wish you hadn't used it, or the other way around.
Completely agree, unless your team is a mess. For example I have Kola and Redmond. If I were to WC I would probably get rid, but both could do very well next gameweek and people will be scrambling to get them in.
Yup, last week would have been a disaster for me (Lacazette and Kola) if I didn't have Lowe coming off the bench, but I'm holding steady. I don't want to drop Lacazette, but the impending drop and Wenger's teamsheets are scaring me.
The fact that Arsenal did so badly without him helps a lot. Imagine if they had won comfortably! Vindication for Kola and Laca owners, I hope... 🙂

I have Kola and Tadic which is the same debate. At least I know Tadic completely runs out of use around gw6 when I will likely WC. Likewise big scramble for Liverpool players, yet they're away to City. Happy to hold.
I think a lot of the performances so far have been backed up by good fixtures and 2 home games.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Southampton (Defensively), Huddersfield and WBA (Defensively) have generally done well, but that was sort of expected when the fixture list came out.
It seems to me that a lot of people are wildcarding to bring in a lot of players who had a considerably higher expected score between GW1 and 3 than 4 and 6.

That's a very decent team. Keep Gabbi for Watford. Keep Kane too. Just sell Fraser.

I had 62,8 last season and rank 1226. (57,4 GW1-19 and 71,2 GW20-38 when the chips ticked in)
So I wouldnt panic if around 57 average before Christmas. I was rank 133k GW15.
Edit: It was 54,4 average GW1-19 and still close to 1k at the end

Foster looks good for cleanies vs lower teams. But as we witnessed last year lossl could well likely outscore that every week with save points. Plus they are holding their own in defence atm anyway

6 years, 8 months agoThe numbers just don't add up for Kane. Gotta feel it's going to come full circle with the start of September looming, regardless of their opposition. However, I am having a very difficult time, potential moving him out for someone like Morata, who would join Firmino and Jesus up front. Not on Lukaku, don't like how he has looked the last 2 weeks and feel I can run without him for the time being. Yet seeing him at -97.3 on FPL Statistics and the possibility of a 0.2 drop over the international break doesn't bode well. It would still allow me to pick up who I wanted, but we all know Kane is going to get his and much like Sanchez last year, you want to own him when he hits...and hits big.
