Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs West Brom

Gameweek 8 concludes at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City hosting West Bromwich Albion.

The Fantasy Football community will be torn heading into this encounter, with allegiances split between the home attack and the Baggies backline.

Jamie Vardy is undoubtedly the star turn on show. Owned by 16.3% of managers, the five-goal striker was brought in by 294,000 ahead of Gameweek 8, the third most popular transfer target. He has goals in his last two in front of his own supporters, but is yet to score against West Brom at home in three attempts.

Elsewhere for the Foxes, Harry Maguire boasts an ownership of 7.4%, attracting just over 40,000 new managers prior to Saturday’s deadline. The centre-back has a goal and an assist from his three home appearances so far.

Ahmed Hegazi remains the most popular asset in the West Brom camp. Still part of 1.3 million squads, he’s been benched by 353,000 (26.9%) ahead of tonight’s clash.

Meanwhile, Ben Foster was due to be backed by an ownership of just over 800,000 but will play no part in tonight’s match having been ruled out with a knee problem. Over 347,000 of his managers named Foster in their starting XI and now turn to their reserve keeper.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Frustrating as he does have a great schedule but he's just not getting points. It's a points game unfortunately...

Not sure I'd go for Hart. Next two games are alright, but the fixtures afterwards are:

        LIV / WAT / LEI / EVE / MCI / CHE / ARS

        Too short term, IMO.

I'd be dumping Davies, Rose is back and the writing is on the wall for him. Next 2 fixtures don't look great for CSs either. Dann maybe?

Davies is definitely a concern, but I'm tempted to keep him till palace in gw 11. Easy switch to Jones in 12. Need to see more from palace before considering Dann or anyone else really

By 'writing on the wall', what % rotation risk would you not be OK with? Missing 75%, 50%, 25%, 10% of the games?

I am thinking of holding on if it's less than 25% chance of missing out i.e. benched once every 4 games.

        1. Ruth_NZ
          • 9 Years
          6 years, 7 months ago

For a premium defender it would need to be 0% or very close to it. There are plenty of good ones to have that don't carry any significant risk of rotation.

Cheers, he's such great value though. Dont see other premium defenders or similar priced mids with those kind of stats just yet.

(Already have Ota, Luiz, Jones too)

            1. Ruth_NZ
              • 9 Years
              6 years, 7 months ago

He won't be great value on the bench.

Pochettino rotates fullbacks. Rose is a better player than Davies anyway. And... the stats you are looking at aren't the important ones. What matters most for a defender is clean sheets and he doesn't get them if he's not in the team.

I would monitor Davies situation still. How nice is to sell him and then to see him scoring a brace again. I would save this week. I wouldn't be too surprised if VVD will be dropped - attitude problem ?

I will either get rid (Davies + Hazard -> Alonso + Eriksen to keep 3 Spurs) or just get a playing 5th defender to have cover if he misses another game. He is too good when he plays and Spurs fans (and Poch imo) prefer him over Rose after summer's incidents. On the other hand CL games will probably result in one of them playing in CL and the other one in PL just like Trippier and Aurier. Havent decided yet to get rid, but not happy with the possible rotation.

We'll not reach anywhere high if we dont trust our picks and are just scared takin him out just because someone disapproves it or he's done well in the past.

A 12.8m striker who cant score at home to Swa, Bou and Burnley? Besides with Kun/Morata and Lukaku we get great captaincy options every week even when Kane has an easy away fixture.

Had a disastrous GW after playing WC. 🙁 Should I make any changes to this team or stay put?

    Azpilicueta Davies Cedric Otamendi
    Eriksen Hazard Silva Choupo-Moting
    Kane Vardy

    Pope T.Carroll Dunk Quaner

I don't like it tbh but stay put for one week and then judge it, and then you'll have the option of 3 transfers for _4

Guess you hold but much prefer no Hazard and 3rd 'big' forward.

      Next GW?
      Lukaku + Jesus out
      Aguero + Morata in

Originally wanted them both on my wildcard but couldn't because of their injuries

        Tough. What’s your TV?

Only way to afford is a hit and remove Kane or Alonso, at which point I’m not sure it will be profitable.

Sterling if starting on bench today.

Am I okay to leave Foster and Myhill and roll my FT or should I really be bringing in Hart or Fab?

Definitely get Hart. West Ham really tightened up.
