The Big Numbers – Gameweek 8

Our usual post-Gameweek members’ article arrives this afternoon, as we take a look at some of the main performers over the previous round of fixtures.

Key midfielders from Man City and Spurs are assessed, while we also analyse Liverpool’s attack since the return of Philippe Coutinho.

Meanwhile, our new expected goals numbers highlight how Wilfried Zaha thrived up front upon his return to the Eagles’ fold.

    Repost after posting to DZ.

Vardy's last 5 games before Pearson's sacking returned 1 goal and 2 assists.

Vardy 1st 5 games following Pearson sacking...3 Goals and 2 assists. Went on to get attacking points in first 17 fixtures under new manager Ranieri.

Vardy's last 5 games before Ranieri's sacking returned no attacking points.

1st 5 Games following Ranieri sacking...5 goals and 2 assists

Possible upturn in Vardy's form coming?

He hasn't become a bad pick overnight, I fancy him to get returns soon. Same with Firmino, I expect both to end up with a similar number of points, and a few runs of blanks to frustrate owners here and there.

Piece, have you watched Leic in the last two games, they're dreadfull, really lacking in midfield. Vardy is not the issue, just harder to score if he's not getting a regular supply.
He has scored 7 points in 3 games since I've bought him. He's most likely gone after this weekend!

Different situation with Raniere, players werent playing for him! They seem a worse team now, Drinkwater is looking a huge miss for them.

I haven't, so fair points. I don't know, I expect a response now though. He seems to like firing managers!

Perhaps but they need Mahrez to push on and Gray to add some spark or they're gonna continue to struggle!
Depends on who they bring in as manager I guess also. I'm not waiting though if Vardy blanks this gameweek! Morata is calling 🙂

Keep Ritchie. I have Kolasinac but he will be the one to sacrifice to upgrade Firmino to Morata. Arsenal got couple of CS recently but were bit lucky as well. I expected more from him but playing on the one side wuth

with Sanchez is not handy. Bellerin looks better at opposite side of the pitch. So basically think about swapping him to Luiz/City def or even lower Daniels or Maguire (depends on new manager) and upgrade elsewhere

I don't like the idea of getting rid of Salah. After Spurs he will score double digits I suppose. Also Cedric is just for 3 GWs. Daniels better mid term IMO.

I have eriksen and Kane too. Lukaku has Huddersfield this week though but Kane is more explosive and underlying numbers are better. I was leaning towards Lukaku out because United park the bus against big teams and they have hard fixtures coming up

Same dilemma. Likely to go Kaku just to force a decision for the following 2 games and maybe beyond. He does well, I ride it out. If he drops me, it will make parting ways easier.

      Few questions for my team

Lacazette ➡ Morata for free? (current forwards are Kane, Jesus and Laca)

      A) Yes, no brainer
      B) No, Laca can get something at Goodison

      Play one:

      1) Loftus-Cheek v new
      2) Wimmer v BOU

      Play one GK:

      C) Fabianski v LEI
      D) Elliot v CRY

      Captain one:

      5) Morata v WAT

        A. Morata great value if fit, and going to become a popular option over the next 13-19 weeks!

        2. Bournemouth lacking a cutting edge. I wouldn't usually advise relying on CSs for points, but RLC isn't certain to start. Next week, I would say RLC with Zaha in front of him is more promising, but this week, I would play it safe.

        C. Haven't checked stats, but it seems Fabianski is getting some saves in. Tough call though.

5 > 4 > 3. I would back Chelsea to return to form, and Morata is the main man for goals in the team. Jesus and Kane still good options though.

I hope you are right. I think you are right too.

        I have Sane Jesus Silva...

I think Bernado will get a start soon to rest one of those. Think it could be sterling but probably the league cup.

      Elliot, Foster
      Mee, Cedric, Naughton, Lowe, Creswell
Salah, Sterling, D Silva, Atsu, T Carroll
      Kane, Jesus, Vardy

2.0ITB. I'm thinking of either swapping Vardy for Morata or spreading the money a bit more and maybe getting Richarlison for Atsu and getting a better defender in for Lowe. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Impossible to say. Salah has given us more data. But as soon as I try to compare their potential I'm at a loss.

I WC last week and went Salah. He always seems more involved in everything further up the pitch and his pace is making up for lack of Mane now I think. The promise of penalties from Klopp has also helped me to go with Mo.

        Elliot
        Jones Kola Davies
        Carroll Richarlison Salah Sterling
        Lukaku Jesus Kane
        (Speroni Simpson RLC Mbemba)

Any advice on the best move to make with this? I have 2FT and 0.4ITB but will probably hold off on more wholesale changes until next week when I downgrade Lukaku. Would prefer to keep Kola in for eve, SWA, so would Simpson be my best transfer out this week?

I already have 2FT so may as well do something...

Could do Simpson to Naughton or a Burnley def, but a little bit sideways maybe

What about using your 0.4 to move Mbemba to a playing 5th 4.4m defender. Wimmer has some decent fixtures as do the two Brighton 4.4 defs

        A) Eriksen, Ward, Fernandez
        B) Richarlison, Zaha, Davies
