The Weekend Team News

West Brom have doubts over two goalkeepers as they make their way to Southampton.

Stoke City midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri will be assessed ahead of the home meeting with Bournemouth, Chicharito is expected to be fit to lead the West Ham attack against Brighton, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is available for Crystal Palace’s trip to Newcastle United.

Here’s our summary of the items collated so far in our team news section, plus a preview of what to expect from this afternoon’s press conferences.

Slaven Bilic is hopeful that Chicharito will be fit to face Brighton & Hove Albion, with the forward dealing with some tightness in his hamstring. But Andy Carroll is suspended, while Diafra Sakho is ruled out.

Visiting manager Chris Hughton hopes to have Shane Duffy (groin) available for tonight’s trip to the London Stadium, but Tomer Hemed serves out his three-match suspension, paving the way for Glenn Murray to retain the striker role.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will have to check on David Luiz (calf) and Tiemoue Bakayoko (groin) ahead of the home clash against Watford, with the Blues manager expected to provide an update on their fitness this afternoon. Victor Moses (hamstring) looks likely to miss out again.

Watford head coach Marco Silva will again be without defenders Craig Cathcart, Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will speak to the media this afternoon ahead of the trip to Huddersfield Town, with an update expected on centre-backs Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, who are both dealing with knocks. Bailly is expected to miss out, while Marcus Rashford (hamstring) is also a doubt having picked up a knee problem in Wednsday’s tie.

Meanwhile, Burnley manager Sean Dyche has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson will have both Wayne Hennessey and Ruben Loftus-Cheek available for the visit to Newcastle United.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes revealed Joe Allen is in line to be available for the home clash against Bournemouth following a head injury, but defenders Bruno Martins Indi and Tom Edwards are both set to miss out. Xherdan Shaqiri is a doubt due to an ankle sprain, while Hughes will make a late decision on Ryan Shawcross (back).

For the Cherries, Ryan Fraser is rated as “50/50’ for the trip to the bet365 Stadium due to a hamstring injury.

Paul Clement will be without the suspended Leroy Fer for the home meeting with Leicester City, while Wilfried Bony remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. But Renato Sanches is available again following a thigh sprain.

There are no fresh injury concerns for caretaker manager Michael Appleton ahead of the Foxes’ visit to the Liberty Stadium.

Defender Jeremy Pied is the only absentee for Southampton ahead of their Saturday evening showdown against West Bromwich Albion.

Baggies head coach Tony Pulis revealed both Ben Foster and Boaz Myhill trained on Thursday, and hopes one of them will be fit enough to start in goal. But Olivier Burke, James Morrison and Hal Robson-Kanu are set to miss out.

Morgan Schneiderlin will need to be assessed ahead of Sunday’s home meeting with Arsenal, after being forced off with a knock during last night’s 2-1 defeat to Lyon in the UEFA Europa League.

Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez took part in training on Wednesday, and could all be available for the trip to Goodison Park. But Danny Welbeck (hamstring) may miss out.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this tonight’s 7.00pm deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from today’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

    1) Erikson -> Sterling
    2) Kaku or Kane -> Jesus
    3) Neither

    Thoughts appreciated...

Anyone else keeping the faith with perennial disappointment Roberto Firmino?

I'm eyeing that Huddersfield fixture next week for a double with Salah or Coutinho.

If I don't bring Morata in for a hit before deadline, I'll be priced out (could go either way depending on what's said in pressers as the move depends on binning Bavies). At that point, I'll give serious consideration to Firmino as my Vardy replacement instead.

Had Newcastles Dimmet since day 1 and haven't been able to shift him, but this week I have 2 freebs and don't really need a transfer so I'm going to ship him out for another low priced defender but who is best to bring in for under 4.9m. Other defender's are Jones Davies Bertrand mee. Thanks

people thinking of getting rid of Salah: Spurs play a high defensive line on a wide pitch, and he is faster than any of their defenders. this is why liverpool love playing top 6 teams. can see at least two or three one on one situations for him. could be a big haul.

      Elliot
      Cedric Jones Alonso
      Salah Shaqiri Eriksen Ritchie
      Lukaku Kane Abraham

      Fabianski Bellerin Carroll Tuanzabe

      1 FT & 0.1 ITB

With Shaqiri now a doubt should I take a hit to get a City mid?

I'd play naughton until I'm convinced rlc is nailed but also that he's involvement isn't affected by zaha

Naughton safer option ...... whereas RLC might score big or completely fail

      Salah/Jesus/Lacaz to Sterling/Morata/Aguero for a -8??

Nope. But Lacazette to morata seems allright

So do you think Silva and Jesus will suffice this wkd for City cover?

Thanks for the feedback. I dont know why but I seem to have been obsessed to bring in Kun and Sterling with Silva, but having Jesus already meant I would have needed to get rid of him as could only have 3.Part of me thinks I can recoup back the -8 and much more. Thats the optimist in me, but probably craziness.

If you think you'll get the points back go for it. I don't think Aguero will play more than Jesus this week though. Salah has a good run of fixtures from next week onwards. Would do Laca to Morata though. I'm waiting to see how he is this week myself (but my frontline is Kane Jesus Vardy)

I think I am finally seeing sense. Maybe just Laca to Morata for free is the best for my FT. But doesnt Laca have 2 nice games in Eve/Swa, before potentially dumping. Like a last chance saloon thing? Guess the Giroud sub thing at 70mins is annoying though.

I guess so, but he's had nice games until now too 🙂 Could quite easily save if you want!

Yeah I do. Too many options and not enough clarity as to who starts.I'm going with sterling only and getting morata instead up top. It's a lottery with city as the minute who starts and how many minutes they get.

I'm feeling a bit more confident now of keeping just Silva and Jesus and re-assessing next wk, after Kun has played. Part of me is worrying about a Kun haul, but Jesus will score some points too most likely.

When is a good time to WC?? Reason i ask is coz it impacts my current transfer thinking...

Initial Plan was to WC in gw12 and get rid of my saints assets (forster and bertrand)...but apart from the Southampton fixture change...any other major fixture swings? or worth waiting longer to use to WC? team below

        Forster Elliot
        Valencia Bertrand Kolasinac Mee Wimmer
        Ritchie Salah Mkhi Sterling Carroll
        Kane Jesus Joselu

I am using WC in 12. 2 saints at back to move and completely need to sort midfield and strikers. Looking at 6 changes minimum so I’m definitely doing it.
Your midfield is far better balanced than mine!!
