Just bought a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS. It was worryingly cheap at £565. Anybody out there bought something on Amazon for way under the usual price and had a bad experience? Should I get insurance in case it has a problem down the line?
If you have paid by credit card or paypal you should be covered anyway.Amazon are normally quite good and wouldnt allow dodgy sellers to sell through them.
Paid on Amex. I bought another lens months ago and didn't try it out immediately which was stupid and the auto focus doesn't work.

bad luck, something similar happened to me 2 seasons ago and i felt horrible but it can easily get back on tract in 1 week

Just had bad experiences with cheaper sales. Look so good at first but then there's a deeper lying problem after a while.

Happened with a lens and a Canon 7d
Never had any problems with second hand lenses that look fine at first, but camera bodies are a different story yeah! Make sure you test it thoroughly 🙂

Yeah problem is there are so many iterations of that lens that are so similar that either without the seller really knowing or through cheekiness they can get away with misadvertising if there arent any pics
fwiw the non IS is way lighter and obv cheaper so def benefits to it, depending on what you're using it for mostly. If sports then obv you'll want to get the IS as I'm sure you know
