Best Chelsea players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Having won the Premier League in 2016/17, Chelsea’s performance statistics for their fifth-placed finish last season were unsurprisingly inferior to their title-winning campaign.

The Blues scored 23 fewer goals than they managed in the previous season and conceded five more.

Several of Antonio Conte’s players did, nevertheless, play a prominent part in many Fantasy managers’ 2017/18 campaign.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were the two highest-scoring defenders in Fantasy Premier League, with Chelsea keeping as many clean sheets (16) as they did in their championship-winning season.

Eden Hazard, without hitting the heights of the previous campaign, and Alvaro Morata both recorded double-digit goal tallies, meanwhile.

Uncertainty over Conte’s future as Chelsea manager continues to dog the club and indeed Fantasy managers’ abilities to assess the Blues’ squad for the coming season, but in Azpilicueta, Alonso and Hazard at least the west London club possess three players who remain at the forefront of our thoughts.

      With Karius in goal I'm hesitant to start with a Liverpool defender, especially for 6.0.

      Mendy should play some games at the start, but we never truly know.

      Not that Salah will definitely replicate his form/score this season but added Firmino and Mane’s points together from last season and their cost and see how it compares with Salah’s score and value.

          that's what I was thinking. There's a good chance both KDB and Modric play further up according to most recent projected lineups so think I'll stick with those two. Pogba or Fellieni, Chadli would be good differentials but not as consistent

          Another good question. I was reading a post on reddit about how captains are more likely do be rested in the 3rd place game, but I don't see it as an issue since we will have lineups and enough subs to easily get rid.

                I have to now. I should have used it 3rd round. I went from like 200 in the world to 100K as I had such a terrible round 3. It's the only place now where I can see it be useful.

                depends how confident you are that England will advance and also keep a cleanie. If I go with Pickford as my keeper then I'll have 4 England so prob wont add anyone else just to keep it balanced no WC for me

                    Well it's a risky move but it could pay off. England have the biggest chance for a CS this round and Kane most likely goalscorer (according to bookies anyway).

                    While I don't see a CS in France - Belgium game you could get one or two of those instead if you want to play it safe.

      Think I'm avoiding Spurs for the first month - squad is decimated by (likely) World Cup absentees.

    Croatia are nothing to be scared of. They only just made it to the WC finals. Runners up to Iceland in their group, they had to beat Greece in a play-off to qualify.

    They've scraped through the knock-out stages on penalty shoot-outs, and conceded twice to Russia. They look tired, hopefully more so than England.

    Weather for Moscow will be a mild 20-22C.

    If England take their chances it could be a walk in the park.

      England is a young and inexperienced team. I just hope they go into the game with the aim to enjoy themselves, and the football they are playing, and try not to think about how big the occasion is. If the players do that, im confident we'll dispatch Croata

        Without clean sheet points and 5 points per goal I don't think Zaha is worth it. He would have to score a lot more than 9 goals for me to consider him. One caveat is that he scored a lot more towards the end of the season - if Palace play the same system, I might change my mind.
