Buoyed by some impressive scores from the opening day, the Scoutcast crew are in optimistic mood as they tackle the key issues facing Fantasy managers ahead of Gameweek 2.

I’m joined by Andy, Az and new Scoutcast face Neale (aka Skonto Rigga) to separate the wheat from the chaff in the Fantasy Premier League’s transfer market.

We ponder whether reports of the demise of forwards have been greatly exaggerated and list the under-performing players from Gameweek 1 who may well punish their sellers.

Our rough with the smooth round-up features a tale of two benches.

While later in the show I come under attack from my colleagues, and even a moth, as we search for this season’s budget midfield gem.

        Yeah. I didn’t read half the other posts. It just made me smile.

        On the topic of that. I still love the Scoutcast. My favourites were the originals with just mark and Granville but that’s probably a nostalgia thing “all aboard”.

        The additions are all excellent in their own right.

              It's not really what I'm after.

              What I want in terms of FPL information I get online reading and browsing forums or general football news.

              Listening or even watching a show for me it usually a rehash of the points in any given week. Content is always roughly the same. Weekly tagret players and diffs are usually pretty predictable.

              The format is tried and tested but to me anyway pretty tired and brings nothing unique to the table.

    Not making any moves until after GW2 but what sounds better going forward?

    A) 4-4-2 with a 5.5m defender (Luiz/Bellerin/Bailly)
    B) 3-4-3 with a 6.0m forward (Austin/Jimenez/Ings)

    Haven't included Wilson in the forwards because he'll be 6.1 before then. The defenders look like much more consistent scorers to me.

        Can't really compare them though. I can have a 6m forward and 4m defender on the bench but there's no 4m forwards so can't have a 6m defender. 10m to spend basically.

          Arsenal fixtures look decent so I’m leaning towards A.

          TAA on free kicks from certain range/angle for Liverpool too.

    Im struggling really.

    Problem with not getting BSilva now is the pricerise, thats basically a 0.5 if your are going to get him in next gmw or the next after.
    Cant see him not becoming a bargain with those fixtures and that team.

    I can only get him in for -4p or -8p really..

      Price changes happen at 2am each day. The price you pay for or sell a player is the price they are at that day.

      It's irrelevant when the team plays.
