Dugout Discussion

No Sanchez for United as Lukaku makes first start

Brighton and Hove Albion entertain Manchester United in the late-afternoon match, with Alexis Sanchez‘s (£10.5m) omission from Jose Mourinho’s match-day squad the headline news.

The United boss confirmed the Chilean midfielder, the ninth-most captained player of Gameweek 2, misses the trip to Brighton through injury.

Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) gets his first league start of the season, as do Ashley Young (£6.0m) and Anthony Martial (£7.4m). Matteo Darmian (£5.0m) and Marcus Rashford (£7.0m) make way.

Paul Pogba (£8.1m), the fifth-most bought player of Gameweek 2, captains United once more.

The Seagulls’ only two changes from the side that lost to Watford are in the full-back department: Bernardo and the injured Bruno being replaced by Gaetan Bong and debutant Martin Montoya (all £4.5m).

That Dale Stephens (£4.5m) is the most-owned Brighton player in FPL, sitting in 10% of squads, says much about the Fantasy community’s faith in the Seagulls this afternoon. Stephens is also the fifth-most benched player of Gameweek 2: over 84% of his owners have opted against playing the budget midfielder.

Brighton XI: Ryan, Montoya, Dunk, Duffy, Bong, Propper, Stephens, Gross, March, Knockaert, Murray

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Young, Bailly, Lindelof; Shaw, Pereira, Fred, Pogba, Martial, Mata, Lukaku

Repost becuase I got 2.5 votes for A and 2.5 for B last time.

Should I pull the trigger or wait for results tomorrow? I have 1 FT and the exact funds to do this, but also 4 players to play.

    A) Coleman > Alonso
    B) Hold (save FT)

Pull trigger if thats your gut feeling (and to avoid rise) but Everton have good fixtures with decent chance for Coleman to get some points.

Tough one mate. I'd be sorely tempted, if I was also content with the idea that a hit might be required later. Would you do it for, say, a minus-two? Close one.

Everton look bad at the back and have conceded vs two of the poorer sides. sell now and bank the rise in alonso.

What’s your thoughts? Would you transfer:

    A) Sessegnon out > Pedro in (free hit)
    or
    B) Daniels & Sessegnon out > Alonso & Fraser in (-4)
    or
    C) Hold transfer

    Foster
    Mendy Shaw Daniels
    Bilva Mane Richarlison Sessegnon
    Aubameyang Aguero Firmino

    Subs:
    Fabianski Neves Wan-Bissaka Peltier

As I need sure points, and thinking about brining some attacking full back instead of Bailly, I'm leaning to Robertson more than Alonso. Who to get?

Liverpool have got BHA next and that should be CS, then Vardyless Leicester away, and after spurs they have got Soton at home.

Chelsea have got Newcastle away where they have only one 1 in last 5, after that Bournemouth who are very good offensively and scored 3 last time at SB.

Of course, Alonso seems more dangerous, but Robbo has got easier fixtures and solid attacking threat as well.

TAA is another good option, he'll lend more in attack and come on again strong after last week where he could have had a few assists, I cant see him being rotated often either probs just as likely as robbo tbh

sorry for repost, is a -8 really a disaster?

    Im thinking
    King>Zaha
    Doherty>Alonso
    Jota>Pedro
    Mahrez>Mkhi
Could this be justified considering all will likely rise and mahrez, jota, and doherty will likely be worth nothing in terms of points and should drop in terms of value?

king>zaha would be the only way i could afford zaha who i think is a great placeholder for now.

really dont like early WC and I think doing this would mean I wouldnt have to take another hit again till 2nd half of the season, atm the price changes and lack of nailed starts in my team is killing me

I think he'll start the next game since he didn't start this one. Also he seems too eager to score, which is good FPL-wise i guess.

    Patricio - Hamer
    Robertson - Mendy - Bailly - A. Smith - WB
    Salah - Mane - B. Silva - Rich - Jota
    Aguero - Arna - Kamara

2FT. Jota is going and want Hart as GK. PVA is coming in for GW4 (probably for Bailly).

      Mendy - Alonso - WB - Periera

What to do? Have no clue!
    Hamer • (Patricio)
    Mendy • Robertson • Kabasele • (Bissaka) • (Peltier)
    Salah(C) • Mane • Bernardo • Richarlison
    Kun • Arnie • Zaha. 2FT 1.0ITB

Bernardo’s contribution in City’s victory worries me but I want triple City with their fixtures. Peltier seems the best guy to sell atm but to who? Also considering selling Patricio to any GK except De Gea. Thoughts?

Doherty, Jota & King done nothing for me so far, options:

    A) Jota to Pedro, Doherty to another 4.5 def and persevere with King
    A) Downgrade Jota + King to 7.0 st
    B) Downgrade King + Jota to 7.0 mid
    C) King to Ings + Jota to 7.0 mid + Doherty to a 5.0 def = -4
