FPL managers expect win and clean sheet for Man United against Newcastle

Paul Pogba (£8.1m) will be the Fantasy Premier League focus of Saturday’s late kick-off, amid rumours over manager Jose Mourinho’s future.

The Manchester United midfielder is the most popular player in the fixture as Newcastle United visit Old Trafford. He is currently in 14.7% of squads.

He recently overtook Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) whose ownership suffered from the switch to Harry Kane (£12.5m) for Gameweek 8, who blanked in a 1-0 win over Cardiff.

Meanwhile, there will be interest in the Man United defence with Newcastle’s recent struggles in front of goal.

David De Gea (£5.9m) remains the most fashionable Red Devil defensive asset, in 19.8% of squads, but Luke Shaw (£5.1m) may prove the more effective.

He has 10.5% backing from the Fantasy community and looks like he could also pull in some attacking returns.

Newcastle are still a club for the Fantasy hipsters, with no player boasting more than Joselu‘s (£5.0m) 4.8%. However, the striker has not started the match with Ayoze Pérez (£6.1m) and Yoshinori Muto (£5.7m) preferred up front.

MANCHESTER UNITED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Shaw, Smalling, Bailly, Young; Matic, McTominay; Martial, Pogba, Rashford; Lukaku

NEWCASTLE UNITED XI (4-4-2): Dubravka; Manquillo, Fernandez, Lascelles, Yedlin; Kenedy, Diamé, Shelvey, Ritchie; Pérez, Muto.

Just watching the latest breakfast club. Hilarious and Karma for Jonty lol.
First time not being a dullard and bang! Captain Kane blanks and picks up a yellow card to boot. I bet jonty is hiding behind his sofa come the Chelsea game

It’s what he says in his breakfast club. You need to watch it lol. He more or less talked himself out of captaining Hazard. Still I binned Wilson and brought in Arnautovic ☹️

The conventional wisdom of don't sell a goalkeeper for a hit is bollocks. Should have done it with De Gea ages ago

if you're instantly using that money to upgrade someone else, it's basically a -2 per player - no big deal

Indeed. But he's taking attacking positions regularly, Wolves' defence looks alright, and he seems underpriced. Still value, imo.

    Current team:

    De Gea
    Walker Robbo WanB Alonso
    Hazard Richa Mane Fraser
    Zaha Aguero

    Subs: Hamer, Tomkins, Hughes, Kamara

    Plan is

    GW8: Save
GW9: De Gea Mane Zaha to Dubravka Salah Arnie (-4)
GW10: Fraser to Maddison and Walker to TAA (-4)
    GW11: Tomkins to Duffy

I shouldnt use WC for it and just go with the plan, right?

Another question... do you think TAA is a good idea to double with Robbo for Pool nice fixtures? If you have another idea, Im listening

2 FT, and in no real rush to make transfers early, but going into the next GW, how do these moves sound:

    Kane, Fraser, Lindelof
    to
    Salah, Doherty, Jimenez?

Lukaku got the ball and did really well, he had 3 people on him. He then passed it to Rashford how had 2 man on him even though the play was switched from one side of the pitch to another.
This is mourinho's fault. The attack has to do so much work and have no support. An attacking manager has to come in next

Looks like Jose's old chums are personally delivering him the sack these days. A loss to Ranieri in his last game at Chelsea, now maybe a loss to Benitez gets him the sack at United.

  18. Witty Pun: Not good at this…

Just a couple of things I would like to say, not necessarily related:

Zidane is too smart to go to United

Chilwell will not match Pereira because despite his chances created, they're of poorer quality and Pereira gets further up the pitch (Pereira is, however, less nailed, especially when Gray returns).

Kane will get a hattrick next week (non-owner)

Doherty will surely stop returning now... (owner)

i played free hit to get manU defenders & triple spurs. Never ever in my life imagined cardiff (with 10 men) will play so good. never ever i expected newcastle to be so attacking. newcastle looked like they would play for a 0-0 draw lik they did against palace. the worst gw of my 9 year fpl career.

If you ask me young and Shaw are both useless.. can't defend and runs are all over. Shaw has been a lot luckier to get those assists especially thanks to the corner duty..

You know United are in trouble when their most backed outfield player in FPL has under 15% ownership.

Can't remember any other year that ManU v Newcastle was a dead fantasy rubber

patience has been key to good to start to this FPL season, not knee-jerking in players after 1 performance and sticking by the players who I entrusted at the start of the season and those I have brought in since
