Watchlist Update – Ryan rises after Brighton’s three clean sheets

As we approach Gameweek 11 of Fantasy Premier League we have got to work on updating our Watchlist.

It’s goalkeepers up first, with teams such as Brighton and West Ham began to get more attention for their budget options

Alisson (£5.6m) retains the top spot for another week even as Liverpool prepare for a trip to face Arsenal. After that, they still have home matches against Fulham and Everton as well as a trip to Burnley in Gameweek 15.

Ederson (£5.7m) has crept back above Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5.5m) but both goalkeepers are on the brink of reclaiming Favourable Fixture tags. Manchester City have some appealing home fixtures but they still face Manchester United and Chelsea in the next six Gameweeks. Maurizio Sarri’s men have excellent home matches before the defending champions come to Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 16, but they have to visit Spurs in Gameweek 13.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) has risen to become the best of the rest after a third successive clean sheet recorded in Gameweek 10. The Brighton shot-stopper keeps his Favourable Fixtures tag on account of the fact that the Seagulls still sit top of the Season Ticker defence section for the next six Gameweeks.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) is up next with West Ham’s fixtures particularly appealing over the next six Gameweeks. Burnley and Huddersfield are the Hammers’ next two opponents and home matches against Cardiff and Crystal Palace are also on the horizon.

Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) comes in at sixth place although there is understandably some uncertainty over what future Gameweeks will hold for him. There had been suggestions that Leicester’s trip to Cardiff City this weekend would be postponed although it weas confirmed to be going ahead as planned on Tuesday.

Rui Patricio (£4.6m) has dropped several places following back-to-back clean sheet wipe-outs against favourable opponents. The next two matches look particularly tricky for Wolves with Spurs coming to Molineux in Gameweek 11 and a trip to Arsenal in Gameweek 12. However, it’s Huddersfield and Cardiff after that.

Martin Dubravka (£5.0m) remains at the lower end of the scale although he did register a first clean sheet since Gameweek 6 last time out. The Magpies could prove a source of defensive points as their run is, on paper, quite favourable.

Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) and Ben Foster (£4.5m) bring up the rear with their fixtures a little mixed. The Everton man could be used in a rotation as the Toffees have favourable opponents coming to Goodison Park between now and Gameweek 16 while their away trips are rather difficult. Foster has Unfavourable Fixtures attached to him as Watford must host Liverpool and Manchester City between now and Gameweek 15.

with all that's happened this week... I'm just expecting Vardy to start banging them in. no reason other than he'll be hungry to pay tribute to the man that helped him get a league winners medal.

Depends. Too early to decide. Depends on Kun playing midweek and if Hazard is declared fit to play. Im worried Sarri may start with Hazard on the bench, why fix something that isnt broken, Chelsea spanked Burnley without him.

Out of those differences, I think you will do much better simply because of Arnautovic.

So the decision that I have to make is whether Arnautovic will score more than 6 points this week (4 for the hit and a likely 2 from Billings)

Thanks. It will be my first hit of the season. So I might as well go for it since it is long term, I will be playing him this week and going forward, and I think that Arnautovic will score at least 6 points this week (assuming he doesn’t have a freaking hangnail that keeps him from playing.

Before I go on, I am not being critical of the scoutcast, only to say, I learned absolutely nothing. (Still enjoyed the listen generally)
Barkley obvious discussion and probably Maddison to him the most common swap, especially if you need cash for Mendy.
Success hogged a lot of time. A 4.5 mil player who gets a goal and Deeney and Gray out. Decision made to have a non playing bencher very shortly. A cash free up that's all with probably mitro going to fund Mendy.
The trials and tribulations of having Hazard, Robbo and Arnie playing, which would be a common problem. I don't see anyone getting rid of any of them if they know what they are doing, so too much time spent on the tales of woe.
I say this because I went Maddi to Barkley to free up cash for Shaw to Mendy. (Watch it all go wrong)
The one thing I have come to realise; if i have Barkley, Trippier, Pool defender, Martial, it is worthwhile having some decent cover off the bench.

    Thoughts on this team?

    Alisson - Mendy - Walker - Laporte - Van Dijk - Alonso - Hazard - Salah - Maddison - Arnie/Morata - Murray

Bench: Diangana - Billing - Success

Cant decide if this lineup is genius or extremely stupid.

Some weeks it would be genius, others possibly quite wasteful mate. 3 city defenders is brave just for the fact that there will be unexpected rotation from time to time. Walker could be Balbuena. Diangana could then be a decent mid priced midfielder.

How can the general consensus be that Mendy is nailed on for the weekend? After all he did tons of mistakes, and created Spurs most dangerous opportunities himself.

Surely Delph and Zinchenko must be knocking on the door for that spot? Not to mention the fact that City play Shakthar on wednesday.

I think you are dreaming to be honest. Pep isn't going to throw his only left-back under the bus after one below par performance on a shocking pitch against a good team. Mendy is averaging 7.6 points a game in FPL terms.

Owner? His average in the FPL game doesnt really affect Guardiolas decisions.

As a manager, would you not think that others should get an opportunity if a player does poorly? Surely its a competitve landscape and examples will be set.

Yes, the pitch may have been crappy, however he was worst player on the pitch. Doesnt really change the conclusion.

I half agree but not because of the mistakes.

Might be rested since it's SOT and keep for CL and Manc Derby.

Further to Bullet Eder, Southampton aren't Spurs.

Also, as much as you can consider Shaktar, the same consideration should be taken for the Manchester Derby next weekend.

The bottom line is, nobody can predict Pep but the evidence so far suggests Mendy is favoured for the Premier League, when fit.

If the FA are intent on cashing in on yank football at Wembley, would it not have been possible to pull across an artificial pitch for American football games and keep the surface for what it is intended for.

Lamela did also have a poor body shape taking the shot, he was leaning back more than he should have been

No one has excused Mendys awful performance on the pitch condition.

This was also a major factor. If I lined up for a shot with my body in that shape, bump or no bump, it’s going over.

      Grass is grass mate.
Wembley hosts many other non-football things. Aren't Metallica playing there next year?

The problem is that Spurs don't have anywhere else to play, that's not the FAs fault.

A football pitch first. Is our national stadium. I also don't believe in the word can't. Astro turf can surely be installed as an upper layer that can be retracted underneath the stands.

        1. HamezMace

The pitch wasn't supposed to be used again until the England game in two/three weeks time, if that was the case no one would have even noticed the NFL markings.

Lots of football stadiums host other events - don't they have boxing at Goodison?

It's all about the timing - as in giving the pitch enough time to recover. It's Spurs fault, not the FAs.

Yes. I’ve attempted to explain this below. I think the best thing is for him to watch the Spurs stadium video.

Listen. Have a little look in to what it takes. Go and check out what’s going on at the incredible state of the art Tottenham ground.
You can keep arguing the case but it is not feasible. The reason it was a blunder was the game was scheduled with the proviso that Tottenham would no longer be playing at that ground any more so NFL would not have an affect. Just like last year.

I am listening Rupert. I know the Spurs rescheduling is an issue. All I am saying, is the FA is the richest FA in the world. Yet we considered selling our icon. My view is simple, look after our crown jewels. If we need money for grass roots then fire some of the boys in their ivory towers.

If Spurs had sorted their own stadium then it would never have been an issue.
You can't be advocating letting a 90,000 capacity seater stadium sit empty all year round except for a couple of cup finals, a 3/4 England games a year, when there are other ways to make money from it - which should go towards grass roots causes.

...and it's always important to look after your crown jewels.

    Patricio
    Balbuena, Robbo, Alonso
    Hazard, Salah, Richarlison, Maddison
    Aguero (c), Arnie, Mitro.

I know Mitro is on borrowed time but can't see a stand out replacement this week, only one city player is also concerning.
