Bennett benched as Cardiff match Wolves’ 3-4-3 formation

Owners of budget defender Ryan Bennett (£4.2m) will be disappointed to see that he was named on the bench for Wolves’ trip to Cardiff City.

The two newly-promoted sides both turned heads with their team-sheets as they prepare to kick off Gameweek 14 of Fantasy Premier League.

Bennett has been replaced in the back-three by versatile Moroccan international Romain Saïss (£4.2m) while Adama Traore (£5.3m) gets just his second league start of the campaign.

Naturally, popular options Rui Patrício (£4.6m), Matt Doherty (£4.9m) and Raúl Jiménez (£5.9m) all retained their starting places.

Meanwhile, Neil Warnock has matched his opposite number by deploying his Cardiff side in a 3-4-3 formation.

Sean Morrison (£4.7m), Sol Bamba (£4.5m) and Bruno Ecuele Manga (£4.5m) make up the back three with Junior Hoilett (£5.0m) and Harry Arter (£4.9m) as the left and right wing-backs respectively.

Josh Murphy (£4.8m) and Victor Camarasa (£4.5m) are the wide forwards either side of Callum Paterson (£5.2m).

Cardiff City XI (3-4-3): Etheridge; Bamba, Morrison, Manga; Hoilett, Ralls, Gunnarsson, Arter; Murphy, Paterson, Camarasa.

Wolves XI (3-4-3): Patrício; Boly, Coady, Saïss; Vinagre, Moutinho, Neves, Doherty; Costa, Jiménez, Traore.

      How do they pronounce it? I believe the preferred Irish pronunciation is [dɒhɜːtiː] ('doh' as in dog; 'her' as in 'her' in British Eng).

      But I could be wrong. Could be [dəʊhɜːtiː] ('dough').

      But the British attempt with the [k] in it is just an attempt to sound Irish. Still valid if you're English with that surname and that's how you like it. Has anyone asked Doherty what he likes? 😀

    Ugh Christ I benched Doherty this week and played Jiménez . Burned last week playing both at home so spread the risk playing Jiménez and AWB instead .

        Doherty has scored 1 point for me in 4 of the last 5 games since I bought him.

        I just didn’t want to double up on wolves again if they are capable of losing 2-0 to Huddersfield at home . I thought at worst Doherty would get a CS.
