Kane and Eriksen benched for Spurs trip to Leicester

Harry Kane (£12.5m) owners are in despair after he was named on the bench for tonight’s game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettio has shuffled his pack ahead of Tottenham’s crunch tie against Barcelona on Tuesday night. Midfield maestro Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) is another who finds himself on the bench.

Son Heung-min (£8.4m) looks set to lead the line in Kane’s absence. The South Korean has been in fine form in recent weeks with two goals and an assist in his last three appearances. It will be no surprise to see him register more attacking returns tonight.

Ben Davies (£5.6m) starts ahead of Danny Rose (£5.8m) while Dele Alli (£8.9m) comes back in to the starting XI having come off the bench against Southampton in Gameweek 15. Jan Vertonghen (£5.9m) also returns having served his suspension.

Harry Maguire (£5.4m) is named amongst the substitutes for Leicester City. Kelechi Iheanacho (£5.9m) leads the line again in the absence of the injured Jamie Vardy (£8.9m).

James Maddison (£6.8m) owners will be hoping he can find the back of the net for the third consecutive Gameweek. He’s likely to be on spot kick duty if the Foxes are to be awarded one.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Pereira, Morgan, Evans, Chilwell, Mendy, Ndidi, Iborra, Maddison, Gray, Iheanacho.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Davies, Sissoko, Winks, Alli, Moura, Son.

Salah fixtures now aren't great. He did just score a hattrick.. but we're not playing for the previous week's points.

Auba was poor and out wide.

      Kane is essential.

How is my team filled with good players with excellent fixtures yet doing so badly!? Like it just makes sense to have Kane and Auba and sterling. It makes sense to not keep Salah with all the other great value players. I knew Salah wou,d score but not a bleeding jammy hat trick (jammy because the first goal shouldnt have stood therefore the other season might not have happened).

To be honest it's hard to be that annoyed with how things have gone this week.

Still think it was the right move to captain one of Auba/Laca/Kane and would never in a million years have thought Salah would grab a hat-trick, away from home, against the surprise package in the league this season whilst not setting the Prem alight.

Sometimes the move that - on paper - is the most logical/has least risk attached to it, just doesn't play out the way you'd expect.

Fair play to those who captained Salah but 21 points was surely never on the cards. You just have to be in it for the long haul. The moment you start chasing a GW or points already scored - you'll just fall even further behind.

I was fairly 50/50 between Kane and Salah before the GW, my gut leaning towards Salah. The Captain Sensible article pushed me in that direction. He WAS a good captaincy option this week. But I'm glad I don't own Abua - that would have made it a lot harder. I own Laca, though. Didn't even cross my mind to captain him.

100% agree mate, I had Salah captain this week but if I had Auba or Kane I would have slapped it on them. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves.

Mo hasn't been as clinical this season, I love the guy so I'm hoping today was a return to last year's form but we'll have to wait and see.
