Lucas Perez starts up front for West Ham as Hernandez misses out

The final match of Gameweek 19 takes place this evening as Southampton take on injury-hit West Ham United. Kick-off at St. Mary’s Stadium is at 19:45 GMT.

Already without the services of Marko Arnautovic (£6.9m), the visitors are also missing Javier Hernandez (£6.4m) through injury – so Lucas Perez (£6.2m) makes only his second league start of the season for the Hammers.

Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes in all to his West Ham starting XI, with Michail Antonio (£6.8m) shifted to right-back in place of the absent Pablo Zabaleta (£4.3m), and Grady Diangana (£4.5m) getting a recall on the wing.

Felipe Anderson (£7.3m) and Robert Snodgrass (£5.4m) retain their places.

Pellegrini has only been able to name six substitutes tonight, including youngsters Xande Silva and Conor Coventry (both £4.5m).

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.7m) is  the most-owned FPL player on show this evening.

The Saints are not quite so injury-ravaged and Ralph Hasenhuttl has made only one alteration to his side from the team that beat Huddersfield Town in Gameweek 18: the suspended Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£4.4m) being replaced by Mario Lemina (£4.8m).

Danny Ings (£5.6m) has been transferred in by more FPL managers than any other budget asset in each of the last two Gameweeks: just over 350,000 Fantasy bosses have brought the Southampton striker in during this time.

By contrast, Felipe Anderson was the fourth-most-sold Fantasy player of Gameweek 19: over 165,000 managers shipped out the Brazilian midfielder, despite him recording an attacking return in five of his last eight starts.

Southampton XI (3-4-3): McCarthy; Bednarek, Vestergaard, Yoshida; Valery, Lemina, Romeu, Targett; Armstrong, Ings, Redmond.

West Ham United XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Antonio, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Obiang; Snodgrass, Diangana, Anderson; Perez.

FAnderson or Son for the next 3 weeks?

Though Fanderson was absent in the first half yesterday but I think all the goals go through him. And Son is a must have short term prospect now! He has shown some great consistency all this while.

      Cheers guys,

It remains a guessing game I guess, but I like the short term nature of Son - easy swap for Pogba in 3 weeks.

Trying to find a mix between stopping the decline down the ranks and a little differential to perhaps move up again.....

      FAnderson IMO
      Why:
      - Fixtures: bur, BHA, ARS for West Ham vs. WOL, car, MUN for Spurs
Burnley just shipped 5 against Everton at home, Arsenal let Soton score 3 recently and Brighton are generally weaker away (almost a third higher goals average goals conceded per game away vs. home)
Meanwhile Wolves have been quite defensively against top teams (conceded 2 vs. Liverpool, 1 vs. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City), Cardiff is a good fixture and Man Utd are looking a revitalized team under OGS)

      - Talisman. FPL goal involvement over the last 4 GWs is 71% for FA vs. 57%
Both are high but FA's is insane recently - when he is playing and West Ham score he has had the goal or assist over 2/3 of the time, even more impressive when considering he has played 90 in most of the games
To me this reduces the rotation risk for FA as West Ham would likely struggle big time without him! While Son has been key to Spurs form recently, Poch has shown he is happy to rotate him and e.g. Lamela didn't play last game.

No worries - I would have both if I could - wish I could just drop a forward and just have a 6th midfielder!

Yeah, the way Salah and Hazard play, they should be considered a fwd.

But I agree 5 premium mids, one premium Def and one premium fwd is the way forward.....

Really need to sort out captain and bench order it’s costing me serious points

ARS not so bad, but mci next week not so good. Doherty fixtures actually not that great -- clean up after 3 weeks (tot, CRY, mci).

Grab TAA anyways, and maybe just don't double with Robbo for mci? Or grab someone like Holebas (good fixtures ahead) and swap back out in 2-3 weeks?

Despite fixtures it's been months since an MCI clean sheet...TAA has worse fixtures but many more CS, Doherty fewer but always attacking threat.

Open to other similarly priced DEF if I've missed anyone (Holebas? Kola? Double up on LEI with Pereira?)

        1. 420king
          • 9 Years
          5 years, 4 months ago

You could say City are due a CS. You'd really prefer to play Doherty vs Spurs away? Get him next week if you really want, but he hasn't been as effective in the 3-4-1-2 they have been playing lately.

Holebas could be an option if you want to do the transfer this week but not Kola. Also wouldn't double up although I like Pereira.

That's why I'd just save and do the transfer next week.

          I'm doing exactly the same!

From 600 to 7K. Feel like I'm one week behind the curve all the time, or pick exactly the wrong transfer for that week (FAnderson to Martial this week the perfect example, and I've a few more).

Best rank and season ever still so not complaining at all, but I've to find a way to arrest the slide and figure out what I'm doing wrong (or, perhaps my rank really is a fluke and 100K is more my spot ;-))

      AWB
Think neither keep a CS so I go for attacking return potential

I have both and I’d probably drop AWB

Hey guys Team for this GW:

    Hart
    Digne - Robbo - Laporte
    Ando - Son - Sterling - Richarlison
    Jimenez - Rashford - Kane

    Begovic - Doherty - Kolsainac - Paterson.

Got 1FT which i was planning on saving for next week but very tempted to get Hazard for Sterling. I have a strong feeling that Chelsea will struggle a bit though. Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you... AWESOMENESS.

    Patricio, Speroni
    Alonso, Robertson, Kolasinac, TAA, Trippier
    Sane, Hazard, Son, Martial, Gundogan
    Aubameyang, Rashford, Kamara

    0.5 ITB

Don't worry though, I've bashed myself (with hits) into oblivion this year, so your high positions are safe...

not sure if that is awesome if I see Alonso (not worthy), Gundogan (not scoring points + rotation), kamara (just useless) and Kolasinac (tough fixture + weak defense for Ars)

If I move from Sterling to Hazard with my 1FT, what would you call it?
    a) Chasing last week's points
    b) Bringing in a Form player in place of an out of form player

      A & B, and go for it

      Hazard is pure class.

Not chasing last week's points, not a bandwagon nor a trap. Solid long-term investment.....

How does this look for a WC?

    Fab (Rico)
    Robbo Alonso Digne (Doherty AWB)
    Salah Son Pogba Richarlison FAnderson
    Auba Jiminez (Ings)

    Thanks!

Get Hazard and Kane in at the expense of Auba, Alonso and Son

interested in seeing WC teams as I will be playing my 2nd one soon.

I agree with the comment about not getting alonso.

Plans for son when he goes away in 3 weeks?

I like felipe for the next 2, but feel that west ham's next purple patch doesn't start until gw 26

      Auba over kane?

      other picks look good.

      tired of fabianski personally.

Thanks! Son will be a placeholder for Sane most likely for 2-3 gameweeks; and Auba seems to be scoring as well as Kane atm so I don't feel a rush to get him in, although I don't feel as comfortable captaining Auba

Yeah, I was thinking Vardy but then read he has injury concerns. Going to have to pass on it. So annoying.

I'm considering the same (Auba to Vardy to fund Son/FAnderson /Pogba).

Just read something on twitter. Not conclusive but people suggesting he won't start against Cardiff and not. Think the lack of clarity is making me stay away.
