The best defenders for a second Wildcard squad

With the Gameweek 34 deadline looming, Fantasy managers who are deploying their Wildcard (or otherwise) will be mulling over the various options for the season run-in.

With that in mind, we have looked at several defensive candidates to be considered between now and the end of 2019/20.

To do that, we have made use of the wealth of data available in the Members’ Area and those subscribing can read on below.

Now that we are well past the halfway stage of the season, memberships are available for just £10 and can be acquired by signing up HERE.

Help with the Midfield needed on a WC atm:
    1. Mane, Jota and Sterling
    2. Salah, KDB and Ward-Prowse
    Rest of the team is:
    Ryan, Foster,
    Doherty, TAA, Valery, Duffy, Dunk
    Eriksen, Son ***
    Aguero, Jimenez, Deeny

    Ryan
    Laporte - Duffy - Doherty
    Mane - Hazard - Jota - Son
    Aguero - Vardy - Jiminez
    ( Lloris - JWP - Robertson - Valery)
    Im on WC

    BB GW 35

I know my Hazard pick is unpopular, but he might aswell come good as Eriksen will. - And I don't like double Spurs attack now when Kane is out.

    Besides him, all good?

I am tinkering and this is the last piece of puzzle I need help with

These are nailed players in my wc:

    Lloris - Foster
    Laporte - TAA - Duffy - Montoya* - Doherty
    KDB - Eriksen - Son - Hojbjerg - XXX
    Vardy - Jimenez - XXX

    A) Salah, Deeney and 0,1itb enough for Vardy->Firmino (backing Pool assets)

    B) Aguero, Deulofeu and 1,8 itb (Montoya could be Dunk or I can go just Valery from start)

    pls halp

What's the consensus on Spurs rotation and likely positions?

Son nailed? - and if he plays will it be up front, as a two with Llorente. Will Lucas Moura be involved up front too, and if that happens will Son play deeper?

Choosing between Son and Eriksen here, thinking Eriksen more nailed and been scoring heavy lately, but Son potentially more explosive?

    1. Pukki Party
      • 6 Years
      5 years, 24 days ago

Son doesn't play "deeper". My guess is they continue with a 4231, so strongest lineup would be something like

      Son
      Alli Eriksen Lucas
      Winks Sissoko

For the rest of the season i think Son will be gold as Kane is out.

        1. Pukki Party
          • 6 Years

They played with wingbacks when Kane was out and Llorente played in january. 352 with Son and Llorente up top, but worth to mention Alli didn't play then.

Hi lads, sorry to stick my oar in so to speak but Im on B atm in my current squad so thoughts on JWP vs Delof?
current plan is Ederson, JWP*, Laca ---> Foster, Delof, Aguero
could do Sterling, Laca ---> Haz +Aguero

my front is Jimi, Laca, Deeney but I am having doubts on laca

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I have a lot of cash spare, so can get Aguero in for the DGW
Llorente I admit is just a huge gamble, if he starts two of the next three I just think he's a decent option

    Ryan - Foster
    Robertson - Laporte - Duffy - Bennett - Valery
    Salah - Sterling - Son - Jota - Knockaert
    Vardy - Jiminez - Llorente

    For this week only:

    A. Vardy (NEW)
    B. Aguero (cpl)

I only ask as I have a 20 point lead on my rival, who has no Kun but does have Vardy and will likely captain him.

I don’t mind using a FT to get Kun back for the double as the rest of the wildcard is well set.

Anyone tempted to go w/o City assets this week on WC, and then get one in for the DGW?

    Palace is a toughish fixture
Questions over Sterling Aguero minutes with ucl in the mix
Alternative options that people could hold a like Vardy have good fixtures
May be more clarity on who likely plays DGW, esp if out of UCL

KDB is probably the best option at the minute and a wait and see approach could prove shrewd once we see what happens in the Palace game.

      • 6 Years

There are no tough fixtures for city. And if there were then palace at home is not one of them.

Rotation is the big concern but I’m led to believe aguero and sterling have never both been rested in the league at the same time when fit => one should haul!

It’s a brave man who has no city attack in my opinion

That’s it for me. I’m happy with it.

    All the best chaps.

Peltier and Camarasa is way too much Cardiff - after GW34 they are dead space in your team

        Decent BB for 35.

Cardiff fighting to stay up and still play Fulham. Think too many of you are sleeping on them in a bid to get the same team as everyone else on here.

Fair enough - but I can assure you no one is sleeping on Peltier.

I’m happy to eat humble pie if they turn out to be great picks though. I think they should do well in 34 it’s just their longer term viability that worries me

There’s also a reason why certain players are in the template

Thinking more of Camarasa and Etheridge, who I believe are both very good options for the run in.

Cardiff have actually performed well against fellow strugglers. They get blown away by the top 6 teams, although Chelsea needed some seriously dubious refereeing to get past them recently.

Peltier could be Bednarek, though. Makes sense for 35.

Llorente likely to get enough minutes to be a WC option? Fancy him as a differential

It’s not the minutes that would worry me.

        Least he’s fit to play...

Llorente is a non-option for me. Probably will get enough mins, but nah, not for FPL

Got a few points last time he got a few games

Yes, but I’d worry that he basically won’t do jack and get subbed off early.

Striker space is valuable as there’s only 3 spots to fill. It’s up to you and I applaud you for at least not going template, but that’s just what I would worry about.

I know, not the most exciting option but frees up a lot of cash for others. Appreciate your thoughts mate. 🙂

Just noticed Eriksen has missed only 14 mins of match time since GW17 and that’s including Champions League matches!?!

Only 2 matches where he was rested after 83mins

Should I just conclude he’s a machine or be worried that it’s his time to have some rest??
