FanTeam

€250,000 in prizes up for grabs with FanTeam this season

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce our partnership with FanTeam for the 2019/20 season.

This year they are offering €250,000 in prizes for their Premier League cash game for an entry fee of €25.

First place will take home €50,000 and finishing in the world’s top 20 will trigger a payout of at least €1,500 – and that’s not all.

FanTeam are also offering additional weekly and monthly prizes to sweeten the deal.

Experienced Fantasy managers should be very excited about this cash league as FanTeam‘s game is very similar to FPL.

That includes the pricing structure, with only minor differences between the cost of assets from FPL to FanTeam.

Prize Structure

The €250,000 prize pot is spread among the top 15%, which gives even non-professional players a good chance to recover their buy-in fee.

That first prize of €50,000 is hugely appealing and it is certainly a realistic aim for members of our community.

The entry for this competition is capped at 12,000 which greatly increases your chances of winning compared to FPL, for example.

This all translates into the following prize structure:

Prize Structure Main Event

Additional Side-Events

FanTeam also offers additional chances to win prizes on a weekly and monthly basis.

That means even if you fall behind on the overall tournament, you can still win big by putting in decent short-term performances.

A manager of the month award will earn the winner €1,000 and securing a manager of the Gameweek award will land you €250.

FanTeam’s 2019/20 PL Rules

As previously stated, the rules are very similar to what FPL managers will be used to, with only minor changes.

First, the scoring system has no bonus points built into it.

Instead, an ‘impact’ factor is applied, which awards players with a negative or positive point, depending on whether his team was winning or losing with him on the pitch.

Secondly, FanTeam has no chips. as they prefer to keep things simpler.

However, they do offer two Wildcards, which can be used to change the entire team.

Thirdly, price changes on FanTeam appear at more random times than we might be used to with FPL.

They will appear when a dramatic increase or decrease in demand occurs.

This is slightly different to the fixed time frames for price changes on the regular FPL.

Fourthly, unlike FPL, there is no tax applied on a price increase when you sell a player.

This means that if a player is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.5m, then 7.5m is the amount you would receive by selling this player.

In short, selling and buying prices are identical through the season.

If player A is worth 7.0m and increases to 7.3, then 7.3 is the amount both to sell and buy this player.

Looking ahead

If you enjoy official FPL, but want the chance to win a bit of money down the road, FanTeam is a game you should try out.

One of the best aspects of it is that you can largely copy your FPL team and play it on FanTeam, since the prices and the design of the game are so similar, meaning it does not take much management.

We at Scout are already enjoying FanTeam’s website and can’t wait for the season to start.

While are focus remains on the mainstream FPL game, we will have more FanTeam content between now and the start of Gameweek 1.

Club statement saying both are fine, thankfully. Wives were in the vehicle too.
Love how in the beginning Ozil was gonna follow Sead out, but Sead closed the door on him as if to say "stay inside and start the engine". Hero.

    How's this first draft attempt:

    Ryan
    Trent-Coleman-Laporte
    Salah-Sterling-Bilva-Maddison
    Jota-King-Wesley

    Cheap bench

I quite like it but with money to spare I'd take Digne over Coleman I think.

Not really convinced by Ryan in what appears to be a more attack minded Brighton. My current draft has Ryan/Button but it's the bit I least like in it and will probably change by gw1 when I can work out where I get the money from!

I've had to think this through as I have 3 outfield Citizens and Reds so need a 5.5 keeper myself.
There's uncertainty about the defences in front of each of them (in terms of first choice back 4 and DM shielding them). I think the most settled are at Chelsea and Everton, and they have the fixtures, so one of theirs.

Jesus wept! High risk but if it works out, you will be raking in the points. If not, a lot of value there to have options. I am steering clear of Chelsea initially - new manager, unsure of 1st team and no obvious go to player (an Hazard etc.) to depend on i.e. not sure how all these young, new players will do in the competitive games. Good fixtures to begin with though.

Maybe I should explain: I'm in a weekly money league. There's nothing for coming second. On good weeks, I win. On other weeks, 2nd or 10th - it's all the same. I don't expect to win FPL outright with my strategy!

Yeah, nobody's talking about him - yet. If he goes back to Everton he'll be a nailed 5m. At Chelsea assuming he holds off Christensen he should lose out once Rutiger is back, so I do need to monitor that.

Correct, being Rudiger and Luiz. I would also argue Christensen is ahead of Zouma

The point is Rutiger is out for 4+ gameweeks. So the issue is who partners Luiz. I was on Christensen but Zouma's getting more pre-season minutes. Plenty of time to get a clear picture of which 5m defender I'll start with.

Yes, I think so. But if Zouma starts on fire he may keep his place - Franks tends not to change his backline. There's 4GWs until the international Break and Rutiger's return to assess the situation and bandwagons.

Hammers look good going forward but their defence was woeful last season and is no different now. If it's save points you're after, I'd say a cheaper Pope will match him.

He got the same points as Lloris and Kepa last season though. Hes one of those that is easy set and forget, but i agree on Burnley, just think that if 2 of their 3 remain in the team then there is risk of rotation when first choice makes a mistake

    Ryan

Thoughts? Maybe Jota to Deuloufeu or a 6.5 midfielder?

2x Liverpool and 2x City not ideal. Gotta go n with 5 from those 2 teams imo or else you are at risk looking at their ownrships. And you don't have Kane or Auba as a serious differential

My take is they're fattening him up to sell him. Also Pope had a minor injury and it's interesting that a fit Heaton wasn't used. All shaping up to be Pope in my book.

I'd say he is, but even if you're not 100% sure today, just pencil in "Burnley keeper". They're all 4.5.

A couple of weeks ago I thought Villa were going about their business well, but yes I think they're going overboard and are reminding me of Fulham. Maybe a key difference is they're getting their newbies in now and hopefully not waiting until TDD, but it still looks over the top to me.

        A. Villa are weak in many areas. They are favourites for relegation

        B. Villa have strengthened by signing players in many areas. They will do a Fulham

All this BS is is idiot talking heads on the likes of Talksport radio trying to get people to call in and rant either way

I'm sure a Fulham fan could have made a case for each individual signing they made last summer. Problem was collectively they never gelled into a team. The same could happen with Villa. As it happens, I think your gaffer is a better manager and in fact I'm not tipping them for relegation - I think they'll finish above Newcastle, Brighton, Norwich and Sheff United. I do, however, think it's a risky strategy and it might hamper their start to the season.

Work harder on getting quality over quantity. They needed quite a few incomers, I'm not disputing that. But I think 20M is way overpriced for Mings, Trezuget is infamously profligate in front of goal and some others are simply not great value for the money.

If they had bought the same players but half the price then it would have been ok?

This has nothing to do with how much they spent. Villa team wasn’t good enough for PL and would have been relegated if they didn’t strengthen the squad.

Now, they will have s chance as quality players in. Of course not guaranteed and could backfire.

I agree about Trezeguet but under 10 million is about 4 million a few seasons ago. Mings was massive for us last season and we needed some continuity. Who else you have problem with? We have owners with combined 8 billion. Not my money

If you’re suggestion Trezeguet isn’t quality then you haven’t watched him playing.

2 biggest Turkish clubs splashed the cash for him but he went to Villa for a lower offer as it was his dream to play in PL.

He is a king of dribbling. If he improves more front of goal like Sterling did then he will be fantastic signing

I have watched Trez, albeit on youtube. He reminds me of Adama Traore that Wolves bought. Very exciting on the eye but absolutely zero end product.
15m to City for the kid who's never played - I'd call that a bit of a punt. May be inspired, more likely won't be. Too many uncertainties like that for me.
But, if Smithy can mould them into a coherent unit maybe they'll be more Wolves than Fulham. honestly, I hope so. But in FPL terms, it's a wait-and-see for me.

Later on, Wolves bought him from Middlesboro after we'd all see him consistently flatter to deceive. Wolves thought they could train that out of him - so far, no different. That's the comparison I'm making.

I'm sure thee were Fulham fans saying exactly the same about their unknowns 12 months ago. If only it were that simple. Salad wasn't thrown in with a squad of players that didn't each other, mind.
I tell you who I think was a wise acquisition - Jota. The manager knew him well and so it wasn't a random punt. More like that, less like Trezeguet bought on reputation rather than tactical integration would be a wiser policy in my book.
But, we'll see in due course.

Fulham signed 5 panic buys on deadline day. Let's look at Villa signings

Mings - standout out player on loan last half lat season. Loan made permanent
Hause - multiple position backline cover loan made permanent
El Ghazi - crucial form for promotion loan made permanent.
Konsa - highly rated CB Smith knows from Brentford
Jota - star player for Smith at Brentford bought for cheap + unwanted player swap

Engels - a player Smith has wanted to sign for a few years. Looked like he'd played in the team for months in Walsall debut
Trezeguet - 3rd most successful dribbles last season compared with top 5 European leagues. Messi 2nd Hazard 4th

Targett knows Grealish well from England youth and MASSIVE upgrade on Neil Taylor at LB
Wesley - great signing on evidence so far considering all we had before he arrived was Hogan Kodjia Davis

    7. Kiwivillan

Luiz - Smith likes new player from another country to have 2nd one so they can help each other settle. Luiz was Pep's replacement for Fernandinho but can't get work permit but we can with 15 million fee and City will invoke buy back clause later. Glorified loan but under 23 Brazil captain
Nakamba - another DM/box to box type like Luiz supposedly target for Liverpool in 2017 and both massive upgrade on any DM types at the club which is practically none

      Have I missed any?

Hard to tell if you have as they have bought so many players. Whether you can justify to yourself each of the 10 signings (7 really because as you rightly say, 3 were on loan there last year) that is still a lot of players to integrate into the team at one go.

People prioritise Salah and Sterling as their big hitters leaving no money for Kane.

I agree with that - it's superstitious nonsense - previously he'd be unfit and knackered. Now he's rested and fit again. BUT, it does concern me that he links up far better with Son than he does with Moura.
I've got him in my current draft, but I'm considering starting with Auba and doing a 2FT for GW3 to bring in Kane and Son. Depends on how hot Auba is in the rest of pre-season.

If you're sure about Zaha, it's very nice.

I've got Kane, but I resisted for a long time because the stats show he's not as good without Son. GW1 should be a gimme but GW2 is City away, and then Son is back. So holding off a couple of GWs is not a bad idea.

Also, so many people have got Salah and Sterling, plus a strong back line, that they don't have enough money left for an 11m+ striker. Many would prefer to spend the money for Kane+Wickham on Vardy+Jota, for example.

    Hey guys,

First post in a loooong time. Took a year off FPL but am back.

    A) Kane and Perez
    B Vardy, Moura and £1m

    Cheers

      Neither are great options.
      A. Better big options than Kane and Perez is woefully too lightweight for ff.

      B. Vardy - yes but will Moura be a regular starter?

You think Auba or Kim instead of Kane?

Moura will play the first 2 and has looks really great at the end of last season and pre season. Probably more my punt as well.

          Kun*

Most people are using their quota of 3 Citizens in midfield and defence, but obviously Kun is quality. He may not be ready GW1 though.
I think long term Kane is a better pick than Auba, but Auba might be better for the first 2 weeks and then switch to Kane.

My front three are: Wilson, Vardy and Jota. They are relatively cheap and allow for investment in other areas esp D which will be needed if last season's form is maintained.

Based on last season this is a really solid front 3 - I have a feeling Laca might be better than Vardy this time around though

Better strategy to bring Son in GW3?

    A) Fraser + Wilson + 0.5itb > Son + 6.5 Fwd
    B) King + KDB > King + Son ( No fraser or Wilson to start with)

    1. SADIO SANÉ
      • 8 Years

KDB -> Son I guess but you'll probably be tempted not to do it come the time..atm I'm looking at starting with Salah Sterling Sane and no Kane to make the Sane -> Son move easy

Seems that some of our safer picks this season have spiraled into questionable to begin GW1 with:

    1. Everton defence - With Mina likely to have some suspension regarding his gambling advert in Colombia, Holgate being the likely replacement makes for shaky grounds for clean sheets. Although we are banking on the potential attacking returns from the two full backs I can't pay 6 for Digne (add Gueye in the mix not anchoring potentially) knowing the circumstances.

    2. Sterling playing a CF role as well as De bruyne playing deeper - Aguero and Jesus potentially not going to be fit for GW1 makes for Sterling being a risk at a position he isn't familiar with (Richarlison last season). Can't read too much with his returns against poor teams in the preseason. Add to that De Bruyne playing deep will hinder his attacking threat making him a wait and see.

    3. Zinchenko reliability - Mendy heading back to training as well as Angelino seeing minutes in preseason makes Zinch untrustworthy to me. Will be a mission getting in another City defender when all backfires. Easier starting safe with Laporte.

    Are my concerns reasonable?

      1. Nope, still think Digne hv an upperhand.

      2. I would be happy for Sterling changing position tbh.

      3. It's true.

Not feeling Everton defence right away.
Sterling can score from any position I think, but it's not really ideal.
Zinchenko is a solid pick to start with imo, Stones could be an easy swap, Walker is only 0.5 more if needed

      Very reasonable indeed.
      1. I was flamed here yesterday for pointing out the huge uncertainty at the centre of Everton's defence renders Digne and Coleman less reliable for starting the season, but I stand by my view and am currently Everton-free.

      2. I think it affects KeBs value yes, but for me the City attack is so fluid Sterling will still find space. What you're missing is the Sane factor. So what I've done is switch Kev to Sane (9.5, same price) until GW3 when he goes for Son (9.5, same price). That ought to coincide with Aguero established up top.

      3. Again, I've long been on zinkers but dropped him yesterday. Laporte is your safest bet, but most expensive. If 5.5 is your budget, keep an open mind on Stones.

I have another alternative way of getting Son in with less potential Sane risk (did consider him). Fraser and Auba allow for a easy fix to Vardy and Son.
I cant even go as far as trusting Stones at this point but with Kompany out of the picture to rotate it really is between Stones and Otamendi which is interesting.

Fraser/Auba out GW2 after Bournemouth's 2 allegedly easy fixtures sounds like a good move.

Everton have lost the #1 tackler over last 2 seasons across top 5 European leagues. As if that won't have a negative effect

    Thought?

    Pope (4.0)
    VVD, Zinchenko, Coleman (Hanley, Kelly)
    Fraser, Salah, Sterling, Richarlison, Perez
    Rashford, Jota (Greenwood)

    RMT out of 10:
    Pope
    TAA,VVD,Coleman,Zinchenko
    Perez,Salah,Sterling,Sane
    King,Deulofeu

Will do Sane to Son after GW2.

Still don't know what to think about the 6.5s other than Brooks and Jota - think GroB and Pereyra might be good - be hard to get those slots right but those 3 could be decent

Perez and Tielemans are quality at that price.

        The RMT:
Don't fancy that front 2 much myself - prefer Jota, but apart from that and questions over Zinky starting, it's excellent (partly 'cos you've nicked my Sane>Son secret 😉 ).

Players I see on here that are not getting much love:
    - Auba
    - Laca
    - Pogba
    - Sanchez

All are capable of big returns. Yet, aren’t in many teams. Thoughts?

Agree on the first 3, Martial is potentially another one - but yeah, Auba & Laca definitely are if Emery sticks by the 4231

I only threw Sanchez in there because of his price. I’m fully aware of his faults, but there is not another 7.0 with his upside ( however unlikely)

I think there's a general feeling that Arsenal are not looking great. You'll notice very very few arsenal assets in any RMTs. People prioritise Kane and Vardy.
Pogba - before pre-season people assumed he's in a sulk and offski. He's doing super-well in the friendlies but there's still a hint of departure, and like arsenal, people lack enough trust in United overall.
Sanchez - see above and multiply 1000fold.

auba underlying stats last year were unreal. almost 100mins per xgi. really not far off salah in 2017

not the best finisher in the world though

Actually Laca wasn’t too far behind. Both seem attractive but are ignored on here. Pogba could make a mockery of his price if his head is right

Yeah, bunch of ifs there. The big IF for me is IF Emery uses Auba and Laca in their optimum positions. He's still moving them around in the friendlies. Then there's the 'if-not-Zaha-than-who?' factor.

Feeling really happy with my team but struggling to see who will be the best 6.5m midfielders and strikers to choose. The three I currently have are Pérez, Jota and King.

Any argument to say there are other options better than them? Just want to focus on 6.5m or lower options.

Yes, those 3 in that order, and Tielemans at Leicester too.

    TAA VVD Digne Zinchenko
    Sterling Salah Perez Siggy

    Button Den Greenwood Kelly

How this look? Siggy worth 8.0? Considering Grealish for him and spread 2.0

    Pope
    TAA, Robbo, Digne, Laudstam, Kelly
    Salah, Sterling, Siggy, Fraser, Hayden
    Deleufelu, Wilson, Greenwood.

    How's the team looking.
Thinking to take a punt on Zouma. How can I,?
