Eriksen benched as both Son and Moura start for Spurs

There are some slight concerns about Harry Kane‘s (£11.1m) positioning in this afternoon’s match between Spurs and Newcastle.

The centre-forward naturally keeps his place in the side but shares the team-sheet with both Lucas Moura (£7.5m) and Son Heung-min (£9.5m).

Crucially, Christian Eriksen (£8.9m) finds himself on the bench once again, which could require Kane to drop deep to provide creativity for Moura and Son.

Spurs did not look in particularly good shape for the first hour of their Gameweek 1 hosting of Aston Villa, when Eriksen was on the bench.

It was only after he took to the field that Mauricio Pochettino’s men really got into their attacking stride.

It will, therefore, be of great interest to Fantasy managers how Kane, Moura and Son line-up against Newcastle.

Elsewhere in the Spurs side, Kyle Walker-Peters (£5.0m) continues his spell at right-back while Jan Vertonghen (£5.3m) makes it onto the bench but is still waiting for his first Premier League minutes of the season.

Opponents Newcastle line-up as expected, in a 5-3-2 formation, which continues to feature FPL midfielder Miguel Almirón (£6.0m) as a centre-forward.

Meanwhile, Wolves host Burnley in the other 4:30pm kick-off, with the benching of Leander Dendoncker (£4.5m) the biggest news.

After starting both league matches for Wolves so far this season, he has been replaced in the starting line-up by Morgan Gibbs-White (£5.0m).

That marks the only change from the side that drew with Manchester United, Matt Doherty (£6.0m) back at right wing-back after missing out against Torino midweek.

Hoping to crash another party away from home is Ashley Barnes (£6.6m) who came into Gameweek 3 behind only Teemu Pukki (£6.9m) and Raheem Sterling (£12.2m) for shots in the box.

Spurs XI: Lloris; Rose, D Sánchez, Alderweireld, Walker-Peters; Sissoko, Winks; Moura, Son, Lamela; Kane.

Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Ritchie, Dummett, Lascelles, Schär, Krafth; Saint-Maximin, S Longstaff, Hayden; Almirón, Joelinton.

Wolves XI: Patrício; Boly, Coady, Bennett; Jonny, Neves, Gibbs-White, Moutinho, Doherty; D Jota, Jiménez.

Burnley XI: Pope; Pieters, Mee, Tarkowski, Lowton; McNeil, Westwood, Cork, Gudmundsson; Barnes, Wood.

I feel like I missed the rises on there, and while he's a good pick the first week he scores less points or is rested his price'll drop again. Feel like I might wait for that.

Not sure why those are criticising that D.Silva non pen. The alternative angle sky shown about 5 minutes later sees Silva actually treading on Lermas foot.

VAR is absolute shambles. The way its being implemented I mean, all it does is pass the buck from poor refereeing decisions to VAR, which then doubles down on the poor decisions. I mean why bother having it

    1. FOO FIGHTER
      • 4 Years

VAR not going to do City any favours this season 🙂

      1. RichardNixon

Its not going to do incompetent referees any favours. The way it works is as follows:

        (i) Ref makes a howler of a decision
(ii) VAR checks it and decides that its not enough of a howler to overturn the decision
(iii) The buck has been passed
(iv) Everyone complains about VAR and incompetent refereeing

From the handful of games Ive seen this season I reckon i could find at least half a dozen wrong decisions that have been made after VAR check. So why bother having it? This wasn't an issue at the international tournaments so what the hell is going on in the EPL?

I was tempted a few times to use my WC, but it feels like its just a waste at this moment.

    Heaton (Pope)
    Digne VanDijk Robertson (Duffy Lundstram)
    Salah Ceballos Mount Cantwell Sterling
    Pukki Rashford (Greenwood)

I have Salah and Sterling which are the backbone of the team. Liverpool defence has not kept cleansheat so far, but have 2 great fixtures now. Kane blank, Auba blank, Mane blank, Son blank, United defence blank, City defence blank. Aguero 2goals, but very expensive. Only player I miss is DeBruyne, but he got only 5p this GW so its not a must transfer.

I think its simply to early to use the WC, am I the only 1?
