Using the ‘per 90’ tool to assess FPL defenders with the best assist potential

As mentioned in a recent introductory article, we’ve added a new “per 90 minutes” filter to the Members Area.

This can help shine a light on those players who have performed well when handed the chance but have perhaps had their seasons curtailed by factors such as injury or rotation.

Our latest series of articles for Members aims to pinpoint those players whose numbers per 90 minutes compare very favourably against the overall leaders per position, according to the Opta statistics.

This first piece assesses the most creative defenders in 2019/20.

    Looking at team for V-FPL tonight. Is it worth transferring Alli to
    A Barnes for Leicester double with 2 nice fixtures or to
    B Richarlison ( captain material v Bournemouth) or
    C Mahrez ( after 2 rests should start tonight)
    D Keep Alli

      A - Maybe. I do have both, but that's because I've rid of Sarr and Lamela for now.

      B - Worth a punt. However there's lots of good other captain choices this GW. May pay to stay template.

      C - Nah. Minutes are a concern. How do we know that less minutes in vFPL means they've been 'rested' and will play more from now on? Could just be out of the algorithms favour at the moment.

      D - Potentially. I'm keeping Alli either to keep, or shift back to Fernandes next week. See you've got Martial already so may not want to do that.

    Goals imminent always means to me that a player cant score even if he gets the chances.
    Now he might even get less chances in future and his incapability of scoring doesnt help him either

      Yeah, it's players who underperform, but if ever DCL had a good chance to emphatically leave the list it's this week v Bournemouth.

      Not surprised I've already noticed players coming back from injury not preforming. I'm holding off from get Fernandes and Vardy back.

        Yeah I dropped 41 places after that game, despite owning both Aguero and Mahrez.
        And there's still Liverpool to play... my green could easily turn red.

        Yeah, victim of being spoilt by a good run of Salah (C) returns I guess.
        vFPL was almost too easy for a while there.
