My plan was to do Mane to Salah (c) but now I don’t think I will.

Think Salah is rested for the bigger midweek game.

75mins. I think he would kick up a storm if Klopp didn’t start him, as he’s missed quite a bit of minutes in his last few PL games. If Liverpool are comfortably ahead against Fulham though Klopp will take him off to rest for Spurs.

      Nobody knows, bar Klopp.

In normal circumstances I would say it's extremely likely that he would be benched based on the gametime pattern of recent games.

However, the fact that he is coming back from COVID may mean he desperately needs gametime, to the point where even risking him for a full 90min in a pointless game makes sense. It doesn't seem as likely to me but it is possible.

    5. Gav
      • 14 Years
      3 years, 4 months ago

Not really sure, there are 2 ways you can look at it.

      1. He'll be benched and given a rest ahead of a busy week where the Spurs game will be the big one.
      2. He had an enforced rest due to covid and its part of him building back up. There are no reserve leagues any more so perhaps the thinking was giving him another 90 minutes in a lower standard game would be good for him.

What I do know is teams don't do much high intensity training as the season goes on so keeping players 'match fit' is done in competitive games.

I think he'll play and be pulled off when the game is safe but I wouldn't be surprised if he comes on for the last 20 minutes.

Not sure my speculation is much help.

That’s the key. He didn’t have to exert himself much against Midgetland. It was more like a friendly game.

      Very nice team

Nothing ever stays the same though, as undroppable as things appear at a moment in time. KdB is a couple of blanks/low scoring games away from being dust. Salah is a benching or a couple of games away from being an issue. The perfect midfield has never existed because premiums live on the edge of being worth owning

What are Jota owners planning to do with him after this week?

Personally I think Klopp still prefers the 433 and will use him to rest Mane/Firmino/Salah if and when needed.

Not many options around that price point amongst forwards or mids.

I'm not a fan of Wilson/Watkins alongside DCL & Bamford.

Bowen looks the best out of a bad bunch amongst mids considering I already have Grealish.

First 3 dont excite me too much tbh.
Bad fixtures for Palace, too much rotation at Brighton and JWP always flatters to deceive.
Mason could be a good pick if Cavani & Martial are out for a bit.

Still prefer Bowen over them as he's nailed, on set pieces, West Ham have good fixtures and he has decent stats.

After Salah's 100 minutes last night, it feels now that taking a hit for him is the wrong move. Especially when it would involve taking out Son/Kane/Sterling for a hit before the game against Palace.

      Thanks for the responses guys.

@Zimo - I'm leaning towards A currently because like you say, its very difficult to lose Grealish, he's on for a big season. And ings has proven he can also get 200pts. The fear of not owning highly owned Son makes B an option.. Watkins I'm not fussed on..

Not sure it will help as liverpool play sunday 430pm. Leaked news comes out maybe 1.5hours or 2hours before kickoff. Wont help for any FPL decisions since its Sunday

Actually, the leaked news has come out a day early recently. But still... not gonna be enough to help us I think.

I doubt Klopp would have decided his line up before deadline tom considering the game is on Sunday.

Who will score more this week?
    A. Cancelo vs mun
    B. Dallas vs WHU
    Ta

Probably Dallas. Hes being moved to RB, and he will get into good attacking spaces.

Hard to see Bruno not creating a goal for Utd. Cancelo may return attacking points so theres not much in it.

Begin by identifying the biggest problems and the biggest problem I see is that arsenal are terrible and there is no sign yet of that abating.

I would prioritise auba, jesus, soucek (if he's a playing mid) and Jota. Just mess about and get who you can from salah, kane, bruno, son, grealish

Villa have two games in hand, city and united one, newcastle one. Pick the best players from those teams and the games in hand could help mitigate taking a heavy hit further down the line

I think this is a case where a -8 to -16 is likely to pay off over Christmas

Sorry to say but this squad a complete mess. I would take 3 consecutive -8 hits and totally revamp it. Those that need to be sold asap are Ryan, Gabriel, AWB, Aubameyang, Jesus, and possibly Werner too. Mitchell, Jota, and Romeu aren't exactly ideal either.

Gabriel and Werner could give him points still. Good fixtures for defence and attack respectively for each. Auba needs to go though as does Jota as does Jesus as does AWB

Yes Gabriel should be removed for James after the Burnley game. But take the -12 i have said below. Trust me you'll actually gain points on the 4 transfers in even with the hits

Do AWB and Auba to Robertson and Son. Maybe Jesus to Ings and Jota to Grealish too.

Wow I'm getting rinsed lol This team got me a decent 69 points last week ! Thanks for the advice. I will stick with Auba and make him captain because I am 100% certain he will score if he starts. I will take your advice on Jesus though. May swap him firmino as he was rested this week.

Don't take any notice of all the abuse you're getting! I bet your rank is no worse than some of them. I like the way you have 14 active players. Don't need to get Villa in just yet for DGWs as you can use second wildcard after week 16, if team doing no good. With two City and one United you are well on the way to cover if they have DGW. Might be worth getting rid of Ryan with Ft, and getting 4.0gk. Then upgrade Mitchell next week to a better playing sub defender.

Prioritize the biggest issues and move from there. Auba has to go, I'd move him out for Salah or Mane (C). For funds remove AWB to a budget defender - Coufal a strong shout. Play Martinez over Ryan.

Otherwise you're in OK shape, Jesus could be an issue with Aguero returning but has excellent fixture after United and Werner vs Everton should be his final audition - see how he performs. Leave the defense alone and prioritize issues up the field.

Thanks tamblings and flair. As a united fan I chose Auba over Bruno which in hindsight was big mistake. But I have a strong feeling he will score this week so will give him and werner one last chance. Jesus will go and I will bring in either Bamford\Wilson\Firmino.

Firmino is as good as dead as an option, he barely ever was.

Listen to the advice, because it's good.

Get Auba out ASAP for Salah. Downgrade Jesus to Bamford, Wilson or Watkins and upgrade your midfield. And upgrade to players who are actually scoring points and lots of them. If you don't act then I suspect this team will get battered over Christmas because so many players are out of form (jesus, Werner, auba) or rotation risks (,jesus, Jota)

You own two of the top TEN scoring players, and one of those is kurt Zouma. Fix that wholesale asap

Auba is a proven goal scorer going through a tough run mainly due to his teams lack of creativity. I will give him one last chance. Werner also gets one last chance as he has looked good in the few matches I've seen him play. I will take your advice on Jesus as I only put him in last week vs Fulham and he didn't do much. May do Jesus to Wilson and will bring Salah in after the Spurs game.

The lack of creativity is still there. Why do u think he'll score? Even if he does he certainly won't justify his price.

At 12m you are not looking for a last chance goal, you are looking for heavy and sustained goalscoring based on many chances or being a brilliant clinical finisher. There is every chance this week that he grabs that goal. There is also an equal chance that any of the form hitters grab 2 or 3.

        Forster Foden Brewster Ferguson

Foden replacements up to 7.1? Really not the most inspiring bunch. Not interested in Jota (rightly or wrongly, just having 8 weeks of Foden for 90 mins of football has scarred me and I'd rather someone nailed to start).
