How to use teams’ specific weaknesses to pick the right FPL assets

Despite selling Jamie Vardy (£10.3m) for a hit on Friday, Gameweek 12 turned out to be a pretty good one for me.

After taking my second minus four of the season to accommodate Mohamed Salah (£12.3m), I returned a total of 70 points and as a result, now sit 202,736th overall, with my Wildcard still intact.

So, as focus turns to Gameweek 13, I’m going to have a look at where teams have been conceding most of their chances from this season, in the hope of identifying one or two transfer targets for the Christmas period. 

I’ll then have a closer look at some of the players who stood out, and also discuss plans going forward.

WHERE TEAMS CONCEDE THE MOST CHANCES FROM

Using data from the Premium Members Area, I’ve had a look at where each team is most susceptible to conceding chances. This is something I like to keep track of during the season, in an attempt to find out which fantasy options can exploit those weaknesses.

    Which cheap defender to buy:

    (A) Ayling (LEE)
    (B) Webster (BHA)
    (C) Taylor (BUR)
    (D) Coufal (WHU)

    Ayling has the fixtures but concede so many chances. Burnley have seemingly turned a corner. Brighton can't be trusted and it's purely because of Sheff Utd (H). Not sure how to rate West Ham's fixtures.

      I feel it's the home v away thing. Sheffield might be slightly better at home than WBA away.

      Also, City more likely to score more goals giving KdB more chance to haul.

        Well, KDB is due to a haul, and if I miss it and the captaincy, it could be a big downfall. I love Kane, but I just can't see him getting a lot of points in the next few GW's; he's been overperforming long overdue now. I'm still planning to get him back in a couple of Gw's after I downgrade defence

      Cavaleiro Vs Soucek is what I'm weighing up. What draws you to lookman?

      Cavaleiro is so tempting with his current position and pens, but unproven and possibility that he could be dropped anytime is scary, not the best just before Xmas where we need reliable players...

      Of the two tho I think I'd take the risk of cava just for the pens.

      The extra 0.3 allows me to get in TAA next week too which is very tempting

        I already have Soucek.

        Drawn to Lookman because he seems to be the better player, cheaper,and hasnt got Mitrovic eyeing up his place in the team.

        Cava seems to get more and better goalscoring opportunities, but his finishing is quite poor. Has pens in his locker for now

    KDB - last 4 home matches - 1 goal (pen), and 4 assists, 360 minutes

    Bruno - last 4 away matches - 4 goals (no pen), and 3 assists, 315 minutes
