After an eventful Gameweek 14, in which I almost committed the deadly sin of selling Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), I couldn’t be happier with the end result: a total of 93 points and an overall rank well inside the Top 20K for the first time since Gameweek 10.
Considering the rumours from several sources saying Salah was going to be rested at Selhurst Park, I almost pulled the trigger and sold him for Kevin De Bruyne (£11.8m) on Saturday morning. However, since I wasn’t 100% convinced by the rumours, I decided to hold fire and hope for a cameo from the Liverpool midfielder at the very least. After all, it would be heartbreaking to sell him ahead of such a nice fixture just to find out the rumours weren’t true.
However, the rumours were very true and he was indeed benched. But Salah doesn’t need many minutes to wreak havoc and after his 16-pointer, I was relieved to have decided to save my transfer. In addition, Ruben Dias (£5.7m), Andrew Robertson (£7.3m), Jack Grealish (£7.8m) and my captain Bruno Fernandes (£11.0m) all delivered nine points or more, which felt great after three red arrows in a row.

Your bench looks great (presume 2WH, Raph and Johnstone). It’ll be really difficult dealing with DGW now and one towards the end of the season with only one WC so fine that you haven’t got 15 and Spurs v SHU and City v Palace are great singles

I see that a load of pro players are planning on FH in the BGW and then BB in the DGW. But...
I’m just not sure I get that. Because after the DGW you’re either going to have a kid of money on your bench and/players not from City or Spuds.
As they all seem to be following the same oath, I must be missing something. But personally ,y plan is to get a decent number of good players out in the BGW then FH for the best possible DGW team.
That way I get the players I want in the DGW as well as the players I want going forwards.
What am I missing?

U didnt get it. For BB u have to own strong bench but what to do after that when u dont need so much money on your bench? I will also get some decent team of 8-9 players for gw 18 and BB in gw 19
Yes. This is my point. If you set up for dgw (either with your first wc or by carful planning) then aren’t you putting too much money on your bench? Plus won’t you be tempted too much by one gw’s fixtures vs players for the long haul (Spuds and City play once, but in general over a period are strong).

Usually, when two strategies generate such heated conversations, it means both are good. Maybe one might be marginally better, but both are good
Do what works best for your squad
15 players > 11 players. There’s no guarantee there’s going to be another opportunity to BB. Also a lot of the players that double are good value and in form at the moment. You then WC25 and get rid of the expensive bench. Best to get the BB out of the way and WC out of it

Yes but there mightn’t be good value players. At the moment for 19 there’s loads of good valued players with great fixtures.
I’m playing FH in 19 and getting 10 players out in 18. There is a lot of group think among pundits and not many are very different. Personally fine with me because a lot will follow their plan when for some teams FH in 19 is actually a better strategy

Is Kane and Son worth the double up for GW16 and 17? Stats from both have been declining
I'm a Spurs fan and I'm starting to wonder if having both is a good idea. Have Son currently and I'm trying to get Kane into my team for 16 and 17 on my WC. Fulham may not be an easy game at all in 16 and I'll likely free hit to have him for 18. That leaves me with the Leeds game and Son may do more damage there anyway. Beginning to question if that's worth an 11M investment.
I agree with you. Looking at captaincy picks, I think Salah vs Newcastle in GW16 and Son vs Leeds in 17 is a better pick than Kane
That's something else I looked at and it's pushing me further from Kane. I will captain Salah v Newcastle and the following week could captain Son In the meantime I'll have possibly Martial in that spot and a much better defence without him. I'm talking myself into no Kane I think!

If only looking at 18/19, I prefer Mendy who has DGW in 19. Ederson will get a max 6 points from 18. You need to look at GW16-17 and 20 onwards to see who is best for your team. Still prefer cheap GK

Merry XmasCancelo is likely going up in price tonight. The upside with Cancelo seems pretty big. I had him for 3 games but was concerned about starts. Seems like he's pretty much in the team every game at the moment. I want to find a place for him in my team again soon. Dias is the safest option though.

If I opt for A, I will aim to get all the template players.B
With only 6dgw players, the max I can get is 11 with 2 hits..not sure that’s worth the BB
