What impact will Jonny’s injury have on Wolves clean sheet potential?

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are having second thoughts about purchasing Wolves players ahead of the Gameweek 31 swing of fixtures.

Players such as Conor Coady (£4.8m) and Romain Saïss (£4.9m) have appealed strongly in the build-up to second-Wildcard season, especially with the obvious set-piece threat, but recent developments may have damaged their all-important clean sheet potential.

Defensive resilience seemed to have returned to the club with the reintroduction of Jonny Otto (£5.4m) in early February after a six month absence with a serious knee problem.

However, a hugely unfortunate reoccurrence of that injury in training raises the question, especially after Monday night’s slump at home to West Ham, of whether Wolves’ defensive assets can still be trusted for the FPL run in.

In this article, we shall use data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area to answer that question.

Anyone notice last night Mane didnt even congratulate Salah after he scored. He just stood still, looked around and waited for other players to celebrate with him. Something not right between them.

Interesting point, didnt spot that. They've never really been good friends though, never seem to congratulate each other much other than a high five even when theyve been at their peaks, so I'm not sure if it shows somethings different or how it's always been

If you Google there's lots of pics of them hugging back in 2018. They were always the first to celebrate with each other but now both players hold back.

Jota seems to get service from both Mane and Salah so he might benefit from this rift.

I'm not fretting I'm posting an observation to see if anyone else noticed the same. If that offends you, my apologies.

You said it happens in all relationships. So based on your logic Kane and Son will fall out 🙂 Genius!

Mane doesn't look a happy man right now. I thought he was poor right now and v Arsenal. Salah, playing good not at top of game but nonstop working for the team. Sets a great example. Mane too much giving ball away, looking for frees and whinging. Prob be better mates with Salah if he was in good form.

On my WC and in a conundrum between KdB and Salah.

Getting Salah in means downgrading either Ederson or Reguilon which I’m not keen on.

Do we think Kev is very unlikely to feature this weekend?

I’ve got KDB so I’m going to keep and Captain him but I probably wouldn’t get him in. Nothing more frustrating than transferring in a player that gets benched especially when a blank is on the horizon. However, if he does play I see a haul coming, maybe some assists off set plays since Leeds are weak there especially, so dunno lol

Can you have a look at my WC team and make any suggestions please lads?

    Mendy, Forster
    TAA, Shaw, Rudiger, Dias, Amartey
    Bruno, Salah, Jota, Son, Lingard
    Kane, Nacho, Davies

I'm a bit worried I don't have great bench cover in general and for GW33. I'll look to roll next weeks transfer and have options for GW33. I'll probably get rid of Dias that week.

Good move. More CS potential and potentially more points from Jota than Raph for next few. I'm thinking of getting Alonso back, if he misses one or two the bench will sub.

Good morning one and all!!! A bit if advice here would be lovey, I’m 36 points ahead in my mini league and every one below has Martinez and I have Martinez and Areola, do I be sensible and play Martinez to block them!? Or play Areola?? Fulham obviously have the best chance of a clean sheet but Areola hardly makes and saves maybe 1 or 2 so if they get a cleanie he generally gets only 6, whereas Martinez‘should’ make a handsome amount of saves but unlikely to get a clean sheet, what do people advise in my position???
    Thankyou all!!

      Define best.

Most points? Most nailed? Do you want a guaranteed starter who can ensure a couple of points if he is called upon, or do you want someone you might actually start?

      1. Quan MisTaka
        • 3 Years
        5 months, 21 days ago

I want a starter who will get me a few points if my other players are benched or have a horrible fixture. Holding would be ideal but he seems like a risk. Although phillips could be the one then

    2. Thomas Magnum
      • 6 Years
      5 months, 21 days ago

Most probably Cooper, Veltman, or Burnley one. It’s slim pickings, im having this problem also. Maybe Veltman cause he plays for the best defense but fixtures aren’t great, Burnley have mixed fixtures, and Cooper you wouldn’t want to play for the next 3 weeks so maybe not worth it for him

      1. Quan MisTaka
        • 3 Years
        5 months, 21 days ago

Was on veltman but really dont like his fixtures. Tempted by holding but his starts were a risk. Forgot about phillips although he does take up a liverpool slot...

    1. Biggsy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Tempted to keep Dias due to nailed-ness. Issue is you end up wanting strong defenders to come in in his place which means spending more to cover a potential benching (despite his ever presence when fit so far)

Thanks all, considering him or Ederson. He is cheaper as I have had him for since he was 5.5 but Ederson is more nailed, Dias is easier to bench though come gameweek 33 than Ederson is...

Just watched the highlights of Liverpool Real. First half was just a Trent bloopers reel. Mixed feelings since he's been in my team for quite some time and finally got me good points last week. A good option on a WC, but I'd certainly check if there were better ways to spend the money if I had unlimited transfers.

    Mendy

    Rudiger | TAA | Dias

    Lingard | Neto | Son | Salah | Jota

    Iheanacho | Kane

    Forster | Shaw | Veltman | Antonio

Any changes you think I could make? Finding it really difficult 🙂

I have 1.1 Mil in the bank!

    Thanks

Salah and Jota seems overkill despite fixtures - I would try and play the doubles a bit more

How do you mean play the doubles a bit more? Keep Salah or Jota?

Highlights watch: Really annoyed that Bellingham had his certain-goal denied last night. How the ref was so certain of a foul where there wasn't one that he blew up immediately... Really poor.

Mulling over whether to WC to get rid of Leeds/City/DCL and bring in Jota and others or just play my 1 FT. 4.7 ITB

    A - Play WC
    B - Raphinha > Jota
    C - Bamford > Vardy

    Pope
    Coufal - Stones - Dunk
    Son - Bruno - Lingard - Gundo
    Kane - Bamford - DCL

    Martinez - Raph - Dallas - Konsa

sounds stupid on paper, any WC looking at Johnstone in goal? WBA has picked up defensively and he should be in save points?

Other i am look at is Mendy (low ceiling) or Leno (feel meh)
