Liverpool v Arsenal team news: Tsimikas starts as Robertson misses out

Seven down, one to go: the final Premier League match of the day sees Liverpool play host to Arsenal at a rain-soaked Anfield.

Kick-off on Merseyside is at 17:30 GMT.

The Reds scored three goals home and away against Arsenal last season and have found the net on 28 occasions in their last eight home league meetings with the Gunners.

Mohamed Salah personally has six goals and four assists in eight fixtures against Arsenal since joining Liverpool in 2017, averaging 8.13 points per match.

The Egyptian is part of an unchanged front three this evening, taking his place alongside Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane.

Jurgen Klopp has been forced into two alterations elsewhere, however, with captain Jordan Henderson only fit enough to make the bench and Andrew Robertson absent entirely.

Thiago Alcantara and Konstantinos Tsimikas come in to replace them.

Mikel Arteta’s only change from the 1-0 win over Watford in Gameweek 11 is a predictable one: Thomas Partey returns from a muscle injury at the expense of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also fit enough to feature despite some cryptic comments from his manager in Friday’s pre-match press conference.

        I’m selling Armstrong
        Pukki it is!
Though I’d throw ASM in there

Cheap forwards from teams that score a lot:

      Palace (Benteke > Edouard)

Newcastle (Wilson > ASM > Joelinton)

Cheap forwards from teams that score sligthy less:

      Norwich (Pukki)

      Southampton (A.Armstrong)

      Watford (King or Dennis)

      Wolves (Jimenez > Hwang)

Personally, will always try to fight the good fight, and know that the luck factor is genuine and quite significant.

If I send out a good XI each week, fair enough. If they play rubbish, so be it.

So I will always play the same way, even if doing really bad (like now)

Also, I put a limit on the damns I give.

Its not about a rank but about a time.
Usually you stop giving damn about the game straight after bad day for several days and then 48-24hrs before deadline you do care (and dream big) again 😉

Would certainly agree this should never affect you life/wellbeing.

If football itself is just a game, then what is this silly game within a game?

Just a bit of fun and interest on the side. That's my two-penn'orth anyway

No such rank imho you shouldn't look that much into rankings. Just try to make the best decision possible week in and week out given the state of your team, looking too much at rank can really result in emotional decision-making (when you're doing bad and you're angry or when you're doing well and afraid to drop in ranks).

    A) Toney —> King
    B) Antonio —> ASM
    C) Mbeumo —> 4.5M (play 433 most games)

Ah true, I was swayed towards King because of pens, but that 0.4m difference can let me wait until UCL to pull the trigger on the moves…

Ranieri is playing his 442 with king and Dennis up top I’m assuming?

2 FT, exact money for C
    Have Toney/Mbuemo
    Bench: Gilmour Omo Livra

    A) Gilmour to Gallagher
    B) Gilmour to ESR
    C) Gilmour/Mbuemo for both

I don’t love Gallagher when Mili is taking all the dead balls. ESR was pants today, but NEW next and he plays well at home. I like the idea of benching Antonio during the tough fixtures, C let’s me do that or rotate Toney.

One of the biggest regrets of the season: not getting Gallagher early in the season. Such a talented footballer. Sometimes I wish I followed my intuition more instead of relying on the various models, but I guess in the latter case I will be right more often even if I sometimes miss some great opportunity.

How come? He was really standing out in the first couple games of the season. The way he behaved in the penalty area was exceptional, it was pretty obvious then that he is a top talent. I was mainly discouraged by his previous season at West Brom, but wrongfully so.

          1 game time
2 his big games have been largely tied to Mili sitting and him scooping corners and fks

I benched Toney and played Rudiger. Last while Rudi has looked real dangerous with his runs through the middle, he's nailed on, and he's great on the end of a set piece.
Will keep Toney as a bench option or the odd start.

I’m not sold on Spurs because why would we trust them. (Maybe they end up ok)

Isn't King flying under the radar? Historically on 0.5 xG + xA, this season even better, because at almost 0.8 xG+xA (although I think he'll regress a bit), but most importantly he's only 5.6m. Seriously considering bringing him in soon.

Guys is Dennis the best fodder playing striker up to 5.2m?
Would it not be smarter to have a playing fodder over this festive period instead of a non-playing?

He’s pretty good isn’t he. I’ve had my eye on him since GW2 to be honest but had other fires to put out. But now I need some funds.

What you think about this or no?

We’re not even up to gw13 and you’re planning hits for gw14?!

James would be first priority for me.
Then Gallagher - but not for a hit.
