Aston Villa v Leicester team news: Daka in for Vardy

Sunday’s Premier League action continues in Birmingham as Aston Villa take on Leicester City in Gameweek 15.

Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

Steven Gerrard makes two changes to his starting XI, with Ashley Young and Jacob Ramsey coming in for Matt Targett and Leon Bailey, who both picked up injuries in midweek.

That suggests £4.5m midfielder Ramsey will feature in Villa’s front three, alongside Emiliano Buendia and Ollie Watkins.

As for Leicester, Jamie Vardy – who is owned by 26.8% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers – is named as a substitute, as Patson Daka leads the line.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall also comes in for Boubakary Soumare, who drops to the bench.

GAMEWEEK 15 LINE-UPS

Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Young, Nakamba, McGinn, Luiz, Buendia, Ramsey, Watkins

Subs: Steer, Sanson, Tuanzebe, El Ghazi, Hause, Philogene-Bidace, Chukwuemeka, Davis, Iroegbunam

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu, Thomas, Dewsbury-Hall, Ndidi, Maddison, Lookman, Barnes, Daka

Subs: Ward, Vardy, Albrighton, Iheanacho, Perez, Choudhury, Vestergaard, Daley-Campbell, Soumare

It's the defence that is relegation worthy though, Watford attack is pretty good.

They are ok but in time I don’t trust the likes of king and Dennis

Yeah I might just bench him and get Bowen in instead. Which is probably more sensible.

I'm considering doing it, there really aren't many strikers to choose from at the moment and the money could be well spent in the midfield and defence.

I have actually thought about the Dennis and King double up, I dont think its bad but it is risky. One week where they blank and u will start worrying.
I'd probably not do it and get Watkins or Wilson instead

How does this hit look - Raphinha>Foden, Alonso>Williams? Would give me the following:

Was planning to save a transfer but I don't think I can keep Toney now. Best target? 1ft 1.3 itb

    Already have King and Benteke

    1. Antonio. Very counter intuitive since I sold him 2 weeks ago, plus he is suspect to rotation. Fixtures are nice though.

    2. Watkins. Decent fixtures except the immediate next one is against pool.

    3. Pukki/Wilson. Horrible fixtures and teams.

Not keen on double watford but there are literally no forward that I want to own

Bottomed. Benteke and Sterling are bossing the stats table, still quite under the radar. I have exact money for this move:
    Vardy + Gallagher --> Benteke + Raheem Sterling (-4)

    * I bought Gallagher at 5.7m, so 0.5m team value locked in him, hence the confusion.

    Current team looks:

    Ramsdale (4.0m)
    TAA | Cancelo | Rudiger | (Livramento) | (Duffy)
    Salah | Jota | Bernardo | Bowen | Gallagher
    Vardy | Antonio | (Dennis)

    Best combination?

    A) Gallagher + King
    B) Bernardo + Broja -4
    C) Bowen + King -4
    D) Foden + Locadia -4

That striker spot will be benched almost every week.

I've gone for A, and I'll bring in Bowen next week or the one after. The benched striker spot is still pretty important over xmas its more likely they'll be playing than not. I dont have confidence Broja is a nailed starter whilst King is, and is on pens + Watford have pretty sweet fixtures.

That should leave me 0.4 (at current prices) which might pay for a sideways City move (e.g. Grealish), or a Livra upgrade (ait-nouri looks pretty good to me).

Sensible as always. We really do think on the same lines hence arriving at basically the same team. I think going Toney > King is very reasonable here. And then I can move Gallagher on next week or the week after (I'll lose a bit of value since he's definitely going down at least once).
