Who are the best FPL captain options for Gameweek 27?

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are faced with another challenging captaincy decision as Gameweek 27 and its Friday-night deadline rolls around quickly.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are, of course, facing blanks due to Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, while Burnley are the only club who play twice.

First, we will assess the fallout of the Gameweek 27 xaptain poll, before then analysing the best options, Rate My Team (RMT) and the Premier Fantasy Tools ratings ahead of Friday’s 18:30 GMT deadline.

THE CAPTAIN POLL

Wout Weghorst (£6.5m) leads the captain poll for Gameweek 27, pulling in the support of 36.36% ahead of Burnley’s double-header, which includes games against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

That gives the towering Dutchman a gap of 18 percentage points over Harry Kane (£12.2m), who comes into this round with 18.04% of the vote.

This week’s top three is closed out by team-mate Son Heung-min (£10.8m), who, despite not finding the net in his last three league appearances, is still chipping in with assists and remains a constant threat.

Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m) and Armando Broja (£5.4m), meanwhile, are the best of the rest this time around as Manchester United host a Watford side who conceded four against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, while Ralph Hasenhuttl and his Southampton squad take on rock-bottom Norwich City.

    My team looks a mess and I'm really tempted to play Free Hit this week.
    The only thing stopping me is this niggling feeling in the back of my head that as soon as I transfer out the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Antonio or Digne they will score just to punish me in a true fantasy football fashion.

    I can field the 10 below, with a -4 I can get out a full 11, what's my best move here? ?I would likely be bringing the same player back in next week as I want Salah/Saka/Robbo for the long-run. But maybe something like Saka > JWP, or Salah > City mid?

      If you have no value tied up in Salah then a move to a City mid might not be a bad idea, Everton look terrible.

      That being said, a safer option would be Saka>JWP.

    Been stuck around 50k since GW11.

    This game has definitely got harder, but not in a fun way of more people trying harder and using different tactics, it's just heavily influenced by the dedication and research or the guys on Twitter, YouTube etc. The game has gone a bit stale if you ask me.

    WC in GW28, can't decide whether to make whole team differential or just the big hitters and differential captaincy every week.

      I put much less efforts due to circumstances and am not doing well than previous seasons. But keeping my style of playing would probably get me into top 100K with minimal efforts. Yes the game is harder but not that harder.

    I've got 10 this week, but fairly sure Lowton won't play and i'm fairly pessimistic about Reguilon and Coufal starting too.
