FPL Gameweek 12: Wednesday’s goals, assists, bonus and statistics

The Scoreboard presents all the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) numbers you need from Wednesday’s matches.

As well as LiveFPL‘s rundown of the goals, assists and bonus points from the day’s FPL action, we’re bringing you a selection of the Opta stats that arrive in our Premium Members Area almost immediately after full-time in each fixture.

Our usual Scout Notes article, which summarises more of the main FPL talking points, notable manager quotes and injury news in extra detail, will follow later.

BRIEF ROUND-UP

Amazon missed their expected delivery of goals as six clean sheets were banked across tonight’s fixtures.

Newcastle United were among the sides shutting out the opposition and are now joint-top for clean sheets (five) in 2022/23, as well as first for fewest goals conceded (nine). Kieran Trippier (£5.7m) took maximum bonus to move first in the FPL defenders’ points table, while Miguel Almiron‘s (£5.3m) scarcely believable form continued as he curled in his fifth goal of the season – that’s more than he has managed in any of his previous seasons with Newcastle, and we’re only in mid-October

An obdurate defence is not what a tired-looking Tottenham Hotspur need this weekend, as Harry Kane‘s (£11.5m) blank-less run finally ended at Old Trafford. A slowly improving Manchester United took all three points and since their season kickstarted in Gameweek 3, only Arsenal have registered more points and no-one has kept more clean sheets (four).

Rotation bit hard for Chelsea and Liverpool, with both managers making five changes apiece. The two sides could only muster one goal between them, a Darwin Nunez (£8.8m) header, and were indebted to their goalkeepers for their respective results: Alisson (£5.4m) saved a Jarrod Bowen (£8.2m) penalty, while the impressive Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.4m) was forced into five saves against Brentford.

Both Alisson and David Raya (£4.5m) have now banked back-to-back double-digit hauls.

And on a night of shut-outs, it was fitting that Southampton – the only club in the league who had conceded in every game before tonight – recorded their first clean sheet of the season.

Do you think Salah could get rested or play only second half as they play in early kick off with only 2 days of rest?

I even planned to give him the armband for this one too when I bought him, but Haaland could hurt me a lot. Haaland fully rested too.

yeah I decided I'm putting it back on Haaland. Liverpool vs NFO should be a no brainer but think City will use Brighton to prove a point after losing to Pool, and like you said Haaland full rest

      Not a fan

Because it means going without Haaland, Foden or Cancelo... Who seemingly have higher ceilings atm

I'd go with the one you're missing instead, and bank the remaining funds for another move if it's Foden/Cancelo you're missing

Good point, I reckon it depends. If it's multiple FTs or hits to restructure, I'd probably be happy enough with KdB and foregoing Cancelo until the world cup.

What combo do you like more over the next 2-4:

    A. Zaha/Mitro
    B. Eze/Darwin

In A, it could be Scamacca or anyone in that price range instead of MItro
In B, could be Almiron instead of Eze

    Many thanks!

It's A for me, with Mitro to Scamacca/Martial/Solanke in GW15. Talismans with pens

Both options are viable though, and either can outscore the other

      Thanks for the responses all!

FWIW I’m leaning toward B as a maverick/upside kinda move. Option A definitely feels more reliable though.

Rest of WC sorted (in my head, not on website yet) unless there’s some adverse presser news, so this is the last decision

Liverpool's fixtures look great but I expect a lot of the players to play around 70 minutes (Salah, Firmino, Nunez).

I also like Carvalho for his price more than Almiron and Billing.

Regarding City, I brought Foden in due to the fact they qualified. Arsenal also have the luxury of resting Saka for their premier league games.

    Overall, I think...

Foden>Cancelo>Saka>Nunez>Firmino if you're looking to bring any players in.

    My transfers may look like:

    GW14: Salah>Saka & Emerson>Cancelo
    GW15: Mitrovic>Firmino

I personally don't rate him much.

Carvalho has a better goal ratio, better fixtures and will actually play a decent amount of minutes. Almiron has the form though.

Not much between them but I may end up being wrong.
