Sorare is now teaming up with the Premier League

Sponsored by Sorare

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – you can now play with all of your favourite Premier League players on Sorare. A new era has begun!

The Global Game

Sorare is a global sports game and entertainment platform, where you can buy, sell and trade digital player cards, before using them in free-to-play games to win prizes. It’s got the competition angle of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), blended with the talent scouting of Football Manager and the collectibility of a football sticker album – the best of all worlds!

The game was launched in 2018 and has been featured regularly on this site, so perhaps you’re one of over two million people to have already signed up.

Sorare is a truly global game, where you can collect the players of over 300 football clubs from all corners of the world – now including England’s top tier. So whether you want to collect the entire Southampton first team, or line up Harry Kane and Erling Haaland together in a tournament, you can do it on Sorare.

If you haven’t already joined, now is a great time to get involved. This link will get you started and add you to our Fantasy Football Scout Private League.

Build your squad

So let’s get stuck in! The first thing you need to do is assemble your squad. Sorare offers divisions across different leagues and locations, with varying requirements to enter.

The Premier League Amateur Division is your best starting point, as this is entirely free to play and simple to get going with. In this division, you need to draft a squad of eight players (two from each position) within a budget of 400.

Why only eight players? Sorare tournaments run with five-a-side teams – a goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder, a striker and one extra outfielder of your choice. Selecting eight means you have some additional players to rotate between gameweeks.

You can’t choose more than two players from the same club and staying within the budget can be a bit of a challenge but you should be able to get six or seven players that you’re happy to start. If you’re unsure who to pick, click on the player card for more information about their recent scores.

Sorare’s scoring system is on another level. We’ll delve into this properly in a future article but, for now, all you really need to know is that players are scored for big actions in a game – like goals and assists – as well as smaller actions like passes and tackles. This means that all players have a chance to score big, even those defensive names that aren’t putting the ball in the back of the net. The maximum score on Sorare is 100 and the average is around 40 to 50 points.

Once you’ve finished a draft, you’ll be prompted to compose your line-up for the coming week. That’s simply picking your best five players and putting the captain’s armband on whoever you think will score the highest. They get a 20 per cent boost to their score.

And that’s it, your team is ready for the next round of matches! Note that gameweeks run over the weekend – starting at 3pm on Friday – and on midweeks from Tuesday 3pm so don’t forget to enter.

You can follow performances via the Sorare site and app. Each week’s top-scoring teams have the chance to win prizes, including real-world merch and digital player cards which unlock the higher divisions or can be traded on the Sorare market.

Had a bad gameweek? No worries. Unlike FPL, this isn’t a season-long game – each week stands alone. So you can dust yourself off and try again. Two swaps are allowed in your draft team each gameweek, so the worst performers and unexpected injuries can be kicked out.

Get started

Ready to get started? If you use our link to join, you’ll win a free digital player card if you buy five cards from Sorare auctions. We’ll also add you to our private league, which will run over the next four weeks, so you can see how your player picks stack up against the rest of the Fantasy Football Scout community!

Good luck!

      Enzo Fernadez comes in at £5m on FPL.

      Probably his real value not £127m. Chelsea bent over and making it harder to buy players at reasonable prices

        Tricky to price since his value to Chelsea might not correlate directly to a lot of FPL points. But I kind of agree with you on this - their recent activity does seem to contravene the spirit of FFP if not the letter of the law

    Should I do KDB to Bruno for -4?

    1. The Wayfarer
      • 10 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

      Tough one. I have KDB and would like to get in Bruno, but given I already have Rashford (plus 2 other Man U players) and KDB has an upcoming DGW (plus he's turning into a nice differential with people selling), I'm sticking. But Bruno could certainly haul this coming DGW. In short, I'm not sure.

    I was thinking of benching Kane his week. Is it worth transferring him out for a few GW's.

    If I did this I could keep KDB and also Bruno. Nketiah would replace Kane (-4)

    Current Squad

    Kepa / Ward

    Trippier / Schar / Shaw / White / Bueno

    KDB / Rashford / Mahrez / Martinelli / Mitoma

    Kane / Haaland / Mitro

    Thanks

        I think I will be taking a hit anyway, as I want Nketiah

        Mitro > Nketiah or Kane > Nketiah

        If Kane I would bring him back in a few GW's.

      Seems viable but I think you'd probably want him back in 3-4 GWs. Only potential issue is if you can't spare an FT for him around then due to dealing with the blanks.

    Does German have a different word for Turtle than it does for Tortoise?

      Both are Schildkröten, but specifically:

      Turtle - Meeresschildkröte
      Tortoise - Landschildkröte

      Source because my German is rusty: https://www.reddit.com/r/German/comments/sitdr4/turtle_vs_tortoise/

        Thanks - I'm trying to learn a bit of German before I go out to Dortmund this month and think Schildkröten is my new favourite word. Love how literal a language it is.

        Turtle = sea shield critter
        Tortoise = land shield critter

          I disagree. It was all garbage imo. Although I didn't mind the idea of using a buttplug to "jump", necessarily, the bum stuff broke the logic for their own film for the sake of an immature joke that outstayed its welcome and was ultimately homophobic. Yes I have an opinion about every minute of this film 😀

    Ramsdale / Ward
    Trippier, Stones, Shaw / Burn, Castagne
    Salah, Saka, Rashford, Martinelli, Almirón
    Haaland, Kane / Greenwood

    Salah to Bruno, and then hold other ft or use it somewhere?

    1. doowral

      Maybe switch Ramsdale to Ederson. That way next week you could do Almiron to another Arsenal midfielder like Odegaard or move Greenwood to Nketiah. Maximises the doubles next week then.

    Kepa
    Trippier Shaw Mee
    KDB Martinelli Rashford Almiron March
    Kane Haaland

    Ward Mitrovic White Patterson

    A) GW22 Martinelli -> Bruno,
    GW23 Bruno, Almiron -> Saka, Odegard (-4)

    B) GW22 Mitrovic, Almiron -> Nketiah, Bruno (-4),
    GW23 Martinelli -> Saka or Odegaard

    C) GW22 KDB -> Bruno
    GW23 Bruno, Almiron -> Mahrez, Saka / Ode

    Rules say I must bench 1 more
    Is it Kane?

    Kepa
    Trippier-Saliba-Shaw
    KDB-Ødegaard-Rashford(C)-Mitoma-Martinelli
    Haaland(VC)-Kane-Toney

    Ward-Botman-Bueno

      I think I'd bench Mitoma or Martinelli or even Toney (Southampton I know) before benching Kane.

      Maybe Martinelli as you already have Ode.

    2. Lemongrab
      • 14 Years

      I'd bench martinelli instead of Kane. Dyche only has a week but he will probably go ultra defensive at home Vs arsenal and it could be tighter than it would have been under fun time frankie

      1. Arteta
        • 8 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

        It's 1st versus 19th. I think that you're slightly overrating Dyche and what he's able to do in such short time. Anything less than 3:0 win will be a disappointment.

    3. doowral
      • 11 Years

      Probably Martinelli as if Toney and Mitoma return they are lower owned assets and would give good rank gain vs the rest which is fairly template.

    Have a dilemma I’m working on. Have very good team cover as follows:

    Ederson/Ward
    Shaw/Trippier/Botman/White/Aurier
    Bruno/Rash/Odegaard/Saka/Pereira
    Kane/Haaland/Mitro

    Looking ahead, my play could be Mahrez in for Pereira, financed by Mitro to Gnonto. This, with fading out Man U cover would give me 11 for GW25.

    I’ve made transfers this week, so Mitro to Gnonto would mean a -4 and benching Botman or White.

    Reservations I have are how nailed is Gnonto? I can see he’s been lively and perhaps he may get a couple of starts this GW to offset the hit. I’d probably only need him for GW25 after that. Anyone given him the eye test?

      Yes, he looks nailed. Despite his age, he's probably our best player at the moment. Sinisterra is competition but I think he'll be forced to the right. Harrison has been pushed almost all the way to Leicester

      I’m a fellow cynic so I can appreciate the snark, but maybe check it out before dismissing it. I’ve found it way more engaging than FPL, plus you can play all the big leagues simultaneously. And sure, if you remain a free-to-play player your odds of winning anything are microscopic, but no more so than in FPL.

      I would say, though, that if your weakness is gambling, or even just overspending on things you get obsessed with, then you might want to steer clear. Because yes, you can remain free-to-play forever, but the temptation to not remain so will always be there.

    If there's any foundation for these Rodrigo rumours is Bamford an option? I'm on a wildcard so have enough bench cover or would you play safe and just go Gnonto?

      Sounds pretty legit. Ankle

      Gnonto might be the option

      I'm staying well away from leeds.

      Could be. Still maybe a slight risk that he starts one & Rutter the other given his injury history and only just 72hrs recovery. Would probably go for Gnonto

        I know that's the sensible option but something is leading me to Bamford!! I probably need to have a "sense check"

          I mean, worst case scenario he'd probably get 70 + 30mins. And he does seem to be sharpening up now. I don't hate it.

            Also if he does only start one, tactically it would make sense for it to be the Forest game

            A work colleague of mine is a passionate Leeds fan and his view and those on the Leeds fan forums he's on, is that Bamford will play both (as you stated with reduced minutes).

            When looking at his stats they're amazing

      Been mulling over this since the Bruno G red card

      It was clearly Schar until that. I'm slightly favouring Schar atm due to his attacking threat and the slightly unpredictable nature of the Everton players' reaction to Lampard's exit. I don't think Dyche will have much of an immediate impact, especially on their attack, but it's still enough of a factor to cause a slight doubt

    Looking like I will own Gnonto, Rodrigo, Rashford and Fernandes for GW22.

    Leaves me enough money in the bank to do Rodrigo to Saka or Gnonto to Nketiah next week.

    Don't think either Leeds or Man Utd defences are worth a -4?

      Nope. Shaw might pay it back marginally but if you'd have to sell again by 25 I don't think its worth it. Would not recommend Leeds defenders even for free

        Yep thats what I'm thinking. I fancy Leeds and Palace to score vs Man Utd and then you probably want them out for GW25 anyway.

    Apparently Jesus is back on the pitch, seems like he’s had no setbacks.

    Want to bring Nketiah in this week, as long as Jesus doesn’t play until March but now unsure, will see what Arteta says in his presser. Jesus comes straight back into the team for Nketiah in my opinion, regardless of how Nketiah does

      Na, think they'll ease Jesus back, and very unlikely he'll be playing till early March imo - they won't want to rush him back, especially as Nketiah is playing well

    Kepa Ward

      I reckon so. Botman 6 point ceiling. Kane much higher. I'm benching Botman this week. Might have a bet on a goal because this comment will probably come back to bite me.

    Most of us are deciding what premium to drop to include Bruno so let's have a rank of whose the better prospect for each GW. Mine is
    GW22
    1) Bruno
    2) KDB
    3) Kane

    Gw23
    1) KDB
    2) Kane
    3) Bruno

    GW24
    1) Kane
    2) KDB
    3) Bruno

    Gw25 onwards
    1) Kane
    2)KDB
    3) Bruno

    Me personally I'll be dropping but a big reason is because I want Nketiah

    1. Saka Rice
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

      Then gw24 or 25 will use 2 transfers to bring Kane back in but for my other striker probably Toney

    2. Mr. O'Connell
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

      You captaining Bruno next week? You've got him ranked 3rd in all other weeks.

      If you've got the stomach for it, I'd just risk going without him and using your transfers to improve the weak links.

      1. Saka Rice
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

        No ill be C Rashford like everyone else probably. But I have 2FT and the rest of my team is decent

        Raya
        Tripp Shaw White
        KDB Odegaard Rashford Almiron
        Haaland Kane Toney

        So thinking of doing Kane and Almiron to Nketiah and Bruno then in 2/3 weeks do Toney and Bruno for Kane and Mahrez

    2 FT, how does this look?

    GW22 - KDB -> Fernandes*
    GW23 - Almiron & Fernandes -> Saka* & Mahrez*

    Current Team:

    Ederson
    Trippier, Schar, Shaw
    KDB, Rashford, Martinelli, Almiron
    Haaland, Kane, Toney

    (Ward, Gabriel, Andreas, Bueno)

    Cheers

        Thanks. I've had Kane pretty much all season and don't want to lose him to be honest, he's one of the few that has consistently returned. I'm also not keen on Nketiah - transfers will be at a premium coming up to the blanks and he's going to be an issue with Jesus returning.

      Although everyone is doing this move, I don't like it as you are going into GW23 for 180 minutes without KDB, the current best midfielder in the game (highest xGI-per-90 over last 6 gameweeks).

      1. Ze_Austin
        • 5 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

        My issue with xGI being used for such decisions is that it doesn't account for FPL points being biased towards goalscorers over assistants

        1. banskt
          • 10 Years
          1 year, 3 months ago

          I completely agree. I tend to look towards NPxG-per-90 unless the player has astronomically high xA-per-90. KDB belongs to the second category, with almost guaranteed assists every game.

          For the record, Bruno has the worst NPxG-per-90 among all the United midfielders (over the last 6 games). Yes, he can explode in the double game, so consider it as a fact, not an advice to avoid Bruno.

      2. Catastrophe
        • 13 Years
        1 year, 3 months ago

        Cheers. I'm a big fan of KDB but let's be honest he's nowhere near his (FPL) best, although I've still stuck with him while Mahrez with reduced minutes has done much better. I do have an option to get him back but would mean going for Nketiah instead and losing Toney but as above that gives me an issue in a few weeks. It'll be close between the two options though (Saka, Mahrez, Toney vs. Nketiah, KDB, Almiron).

        Going also with just the one transfer this week means that I still have two options for GW23:

        A) Almiron & Fernandes -> Saka* & Mahrez*
        B) Toney & Fernandes -> Nketiah* & KDB*
