Who to play in goal, Onana or Turner?

Onana should be closer to.a clean sheet, however, if ManU are going to perform like against Wolves, it might be a 0:1 or 0:2.

The question is, will ManU finally start the new season or will we all be selling Rashy and Bruno Saturday night?

I can't get my head round but don't have a good feeling with ManU.

Not sure why Luckhurst is having a go at Ten Hag for trying Rashford as a striker when his other options were...

        a) a perma-crock with 13 starts in the past 2 seasons (injured)
        b) a young prospect who joined the club a week before the season started (injured)
        c) a criminal who's being forced out of the club (suspended)
        d) Jadon Sancho false 9 (rubbish)

Got the feeling he was nearing a return to fitness, probably a few minutes from the bench but it'd be something towards giving Bruno/Rashford owners an idea of whether they're worth keeping before the IB

I’m about to sell Rashford for Mbeumo, so I fully expect Rashford to blank and Mbeumo to haul.

Yes to do Lukic to Mitoma. The way I’m looking at it is who scores more? Tarkowski and Rashford or move to a 3-5-2 and Mbeumo and Mitoma. I think the latter. And even if Rashford hauls I think these two will combine to score more.

    Hey! 1 FT.

    Onana
    Chilwell Saliba Estupiñán
    Rashford Saka Martinelli Maddison* Eze
    Haaland Jackson
    Turner // Pedro Udogie Kabore

Waiting in Maddison moves but I doubt he plays this GW.

    A) Maddison > Foden (bench Eze)
    B) Maddison > Foden (bench Pedro)
    C) Maddison > Mbeumo (bench Eze)
    D) Maddison > Mbeumo (bench Pedro)
    C) Save FT

Worth noting that unless I see something amazing from Eze, he will likely be moved on next week (esp. with transfer links).

Got very unlucky with Maddison otherwise could have had them both this week 😛 Happy with my squad apart from that hiccup.

I've got Udogie on the bench, but ARS have better CS odds so just have to stick there I think.

This week it would be, but long term wouldn't holding Maddison and having the extra FT be worthwhile? Excellent fixtures for the next number of weeks (barring Arsenal, and even then NLDs tend to be a bit wild)

I don't think there is much point holding him when he is probably out this week, and white possibly our GW4 too as just before IB. Will drop like a stone.

Preseason was good but these injuries aren't helping our start to the season...

All injured or just coming back from a injury:
Nkunku, Chukwuemeka, Mudryk, Madueke, Broja, James, Badiashile, Chalobah, Fofana

      Non-injured, brand new to XI:
Sanchez, Jackson (looks good tho), Caicedo, Lavia, Disasi, Colwill (+ maybe Maatsen)

      Pre-exisitng:
      Enzo, Chilwell, Silva, Sterling, Gallagher

Hmm good question. I'm probably starting to slide into the "used to it" zone now - there's still a lot more I'd like to see (Bergen, the North) which we've not quite gotten around to lately. But, apart from the cost & some bureaucratic stuff, I still love it. If beautiful mountains, lakes, forests, fjords are your thing - plus deer wandering into your garden & sea warm enough to swim in the summer - then its pretty awesome

They're not playing the same system as last season though and I don't think they've looked too comfortable so far. I can see them maybe taking 1 or 2 cs in the next 7 games

And you don’t think that can change in the blink of an eye?

Dominated both games, gave away a goal against Forest then had an uncomfortable period at the end, dominated Palace until the sending off then the 10 men were resilient and shut them out.

I think too many narratives are being created to easy transfer decisions.

Zinchenko & Jesus returns are around the corner, possibly even next week, that impacts the whole dynamic of the team.

I see your an Arsenal fan and are struggling to look at what I said from a non-bias pov.
To answer your question no I don't think it can change in the blink of an eye, if Arteta goes back to his orginal system with Zinchenko then who drops out? The 65 million signing or Partey who barring the end of last season was one of the best players. Like the guy below said they have UCL starting soon and no one knows how they will react to that as most of the team hasn't had these experiences yet.

This whole squad dealt with European competiton last season & travelling that went with it, it led the league for 35 out of 38 weeks.

There's no bias here but some of the points leave room for debate.

Yes, its quite possible Partey or Havertz drop out at any moment, no one expected Gabriel to drop out, Arteta has built a squad that he looks comfortable using & sees everyone as equally capable.

Why isn't it? The argument is based on the extra travelling & prep that goes into the week through being in the CL & not the opposition, some would argue the Europa is a more challenging competiton to be in, but thats beside the point, Arsenal were in Europe last season & coped well enough to gain 50 points in the first 19 games with the European schedule to cope with.

Just feels like another Twitter narrative being thrown out there to me.

I don't even use Twitter and whoever argues that the Europa is more challenging is an idiot. Playing tougher competition takes more out of you Physically and Mentally, that's what I'm getting at.

When the pundits talk about the Europa being more challenging to balance it’s got nothing to do with the opposition, more to do with the trips to various grounds like Wi-Fi passwords around Europe.

Sure but that was last season. Not great start defensively when looking at xGC np (yes only 2 games), UCL midweek games from GW5 and fixtures are not the best from a defensive POV

Or 1 goal conceded in 2 games, that’s not terrible by any stretch, probably only City who have conceded less.

Stats can be spun to suit any argument.

Looking at performance and underlying stats tells more of a story than "1 goal conceded = good" though.

Forest easily could have scored more at the Emirates (that Johnson 1v1 was a disgrace) and Palace could have easily had a penalty. Arsenal look shaky at the back and Arteta isn't help matters by putting out a different lineup every week.

If your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle.

Underlying astats can tell you what ever you want, Darwin Nunez looked must have from his stats last season, real football & the conversion of those stats told you a different tale.

Hence why I added the second paragraph about actually watching the matches, which don't suggest that Arsenal are "the second best defence in the league" at all.

Based on the first 2 games, it's actually Forest.

OK, Forest is the second best defence in the league, no further arguments from me here on this then, below was typed out before this one.

City conceded 2 shots on target this season, Arsenal next in line with 4.

City conced 13 shots, Arsenal third with 20 (Burnley second with 17 from one game)

City conceded 0 goals this season, Arsenal next in line with 1

All stats taken from the members area, don't doubt xG can be used too but everything can be framed,by these numbers, its the next best.

'Shots' don't tell the full story - a team who keeps the opposition out of the box, so they resort to pot-shots would be heavily punished by your metrics.

Arsenal are 5th in the league for NPxGA:

                        1. City (0.57)
                        2. Forest (1.39)
                        3. Brentford (1.85)
                        4. Palace (1.87)
                        5. Arsenal (2.04)

Forest and Palace both being on this list also suggests that Arsenal have a problem with chance creation (as we've seen, relying on deflections and penalties) but that's another story.

But surely it's inevitable that if they keep conceding chances then they will concede. Especially with some of their upcoming fixtures

Which brings me back to the point that Jesus & Zinchenko change the dynamic of the team, Zinchenko dropping into MF & Jesus dropping deep & grafting helped Arsenal suffocate teams last season.

We can't have it both ways & talk about small sample sizes when it doesn't suit a viewpoint then lean on small sample sizes & ignore a seasons worth of evidence to suit another one.

I don't think so tbh. Wolves have performed pretty well against Liverpool lately & I don't really rate WHU defence that highly (at least until new signings settle in)

Trying to analyze should I keep Bruno of transfer him out (with Pedro) to get Mbuemo/Jackson/Wissa.

So, how does Mount injury affect ManU formation? Bruno stays back or is he injected into attack?

Meanwhile, ManU and Brighton games will turn around and it should be reasonble to not keep 3 Brighton + 2 Manu players in squad. The question is, should I make moves now or wait one extra week.

    PS.
Yes, I have option to sell Salah as well, but theres too much fate + some sense is telling me that Newcastle vs Liverpool goes off with big score for both sides.

What to do with Richarlison here?
    1.5 itb 1 FT

    Johnstone (Turner)
    Chilwell Saliba Colwill Estupinan (Kabore)
    Rashford Foden Odegaard Saka (Richarlison)
    Jackson Haaland (Archer)

Will want Mbeumo some stage soon and Richarlison makes sense to get rid of, but willing to give him another game or 2 if I know he’ll start.

    A) Start Richarlison (for who?)
    B) Sell now for Mbeumo
    C) Keep on bench this week and likely sell next week

Didn’t expect him to be as bad as he has looked though, he’d probably be dropped but they’ve got nobody to bring in for him so might give him one more chance. Cheers

You reckon? The results haven’t been good but they looked pretty decent in both games so far imo. ~70% possession in both games, 27 shots, 6 big chances. Still a bit shaky at the back but they’ve been alright in 2 tough games so far

I get that they've looked okay but results are important and they havent had a good one for at least 6 months, i still think theyll beat Luton but im not bringing in their players yet especially ones that have never scored

Feeling a bit bad about my Gabriel + Pedro -> Chilwell + Jackson (-4) now. Might have been a bit hasty. Wanted to beat Gab's price drop. I could have just got Jackson for my 4.5 striker, but then I'd have had a benching problem and wouldn't have been able to afford Chilly or any upgrades on my defence. Someone make me feel a bit better about this decision haha. Terrified of a Pedro haul now...

Yeah, Pedro situation is unknown. More unknown is how WestHam defence works against team that has scored 8 goals last 2 matches.

I am keeping him for at least one more week, it does not matter who you score a hat-trick against, goals breed confidence, and strikers always say goals come in bundles.

I think Wissa is a great option but if you pick Mbeumo and Wissa you have to expect Brentford to score a lot of goals for them both to get returns, which might happen.

Opinions on this would be amazing thanks....
I was set on Bruno to Maddison as believe Maddison will have a good season and want long term. However this GW his injury messes that up. Would it be crazy to do... (This is if JP starts infront of Enciso if injured)

    2FT 0ITB
    Jhonstone Turner
    Saliba Estupinan Chillwell
    Bruno Salah Eze Saka Nakamba
    Haaland Watkins JP

Bruno & Nakamba to Maddison & Enzo? (Bench Maddy this GW) I like the Enzo punt for next 3 and also a great first bench option? Or have i lost my head? Many thanks.
