Hi all, anyone able to tell me if Salah Son or Hee Chan look likely to drop tonight? Fpl statistics not loading for me tonight.

Salah dropped last night. Son is due to. Trippier too. Estupinan and Richy going up. Think I'll do Salah>Richy and catch the rise. Tempted on Schar>Estupinan too!

Thanks. Missed the Salah price drop last night. Son I can afford a 0.1 drop without effecting SP. It’s Hee Chan I’m most concerned about.

Son the only probable - but who knows how many are doing a last minute transfer out of the other two? That's something beyond the forecasting skill of the price predictor.

I've done Salah & Son for free as I can see them missing 4 or 5 matches before GW27, and will take a break from FPL until the next deadline.

        There's an anomaly where:
FPLStats has KdB price locked but Hub has him set to rise,
FPLStats has Estupinan set to rise but Hub has his price locked

I have been happy with fplstatistics, but don't trust them to be exactly accurate. Especially drops seem to hard to predict if there is long time before last price change.

    Green arrow 63k to 53k.

Archer (1) to Alvarez (7) transfer wasn't as high as expected but only 9 point swing on Alvarez (C) over Salah.

    Alvarez (C) 14 + Salah 16 = 30
    Alvarez 7 + Salah (C) 32 = 39

I've noticed quite a few people work out how many captain points they missed the way you do here

Simpler way of calculating is player A- player B so in this case
      16-7=9

If you captained foden over Salah then it's
      16-12= 4 points

If captained watkins over Salah it's
      16-8= 8 points

Sorry for maths lesson. Can't sleep

81 with Palmer benched. Was I realistically expected to play him ahead of Saka, Ode, Watkins or Solanke? Can't get everything right. Capped Salah though very pleasing as I really did my homework there and brought him in for the first time especially.

I think in hindsight, was Ode a reasonable transfer in to take a slot, but with that team, I think it's a toss up between solanke and Palmer and as mentioned a couple days ago, he should have had a brace

I've had Ode since the start! Yes should have played Palmer ahead but Luton are decent at home so I saw that game going 2-1 either way. Never saw Chelsea racing into a 0-3 lead. Sorry for the late reply!

My bench is currently Trippier, Zinchenko and Nakamba. Solanke has Liv, but I would want him back for easier fixtures. I have also taken -4 already. I really need to see him play first. His minutes could be managed.

I'm just dumbfounded that people are taking hits 10 days before the first game when everyone has like 2-5m in the bank.

It's easy to talk about all this money in the bank right now, but after I do Alvarez and Bowen out for Haaland and Salah I'll have -3.0M.

Saving some money here and there will make it easier to get them both back in.

If Haaland and KDB play any sort of mins in the cup this week I’d be tempted to WC them in along with players like Estu, Nkunku & Jota & try & break away from the template.

Estu, Nkunku, Jota & KDB feels like a nice 4 to take the game on with.

Team feels stale and boring, progressing nicely but feel it could be time to attack with Salah & Son missing.

GW21 key transfer decision, which mids to bring in for Salah and Son using Opta stats and fixture rankings for FPL.
    1. Gross
    2. Richarlison
    3. Jota
    4. Odegaard
    5. Olise
    6. Foden
    7. Garnacho

    Qualitative analysis:
Gross gets the highest score (surprisingly for me) due to:
    • 2nd for non pen XGI for the season and last 6 matches for these 7 players.
    • Brighton have the best fixtures for the next 6 matches for attackers
    • Brighton have the 4th best non pen XG for the season and the last 6 matches for the teams of these 7 players

    Richarlson 2nd:
    • 4th for non pen XGI for the season and 3rd for last 6 matches for these 7 players.
    • But 12th easiest fixtures for attackers in next 6 matches
    • Totenham have the highest non pen xG for the season and 2nd for the last 6 matches for the for the teams of these 7 players

Olise not higher (surprisingly for me) because:
    • 5th for non pen XGI for the season (lots of injured time though) but 1st for last 6 matches for these 7 players.
    • CPL is 5th easiest fixtures for attackers in next 6 matches
    • CPL have the 7th highest non pen xG for the season and for the last 6 matches for the for the teams of these 7 players

Detailed calcs (transfers tab), will update for captain later: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13YfEflQIv4eiC70TQg9MtupZ7MUKRxBN?rtpof=true&usp=drive_fs

    Reflections
Just trying this for the first time, maybe rubbish and you should ignore. Maybe the weightings are not right e.g. next 6 fixture difficulty weighted at 30%.

Thx. Perhaps you should not exclude them if you want followers. I don't like any metric that doesn't consider game time. Olise has been injured and supposing he is not more fragile than others, that metric should be adjusted.

Not too fussed about followers 🙂 more work to include them, maybe I will add them later.

Yes I mention about Olise season xGI data, but only 10% weighting. I could use per 90 data, but that requires min time setting and other exclusions to avoid skew. Benefit of considering overall season data is that you get a bit of a risk of injury included also. There is last 6 match data for Olise which is just played. Mainly he loses score for CPL being so poor which is my intuition also.

How long is Paqueta out for? 0.1 xGI for Bowen tonight without Paqueta and Kudus didn't sell me on him, especially at home to a Brighton team who don't ever keep clean sheets

It would be Udogie or Salah. Both are currently on my bench and the player coming in would probably replace Gordon or Solanke in the first XI.

Contemplating benching Salah this week to have a better choice of midfielders to replace him in GW22. 4 weeks until that starts by which time KDB or Maddison could also become options then.

Have 2FT this week and can put out a team for the next gameweek barring any unforeseen injuries but don't wanna burn a transfer

Why would you be? He’s not Salah or Haaland levels so isn’t going to run riot every week.

If you thought he was a good pick before tonight, tonight shouldn’t change that unless you’re chasing points and have had your head turned by someone who just scored some.

Bowen scored a lot of points in the last couple of years without Kudus, he’s only been there a few months so I’m not sure he’s a make or break for Bowen.

Parqueta could be back by the 21st, who knows.

For those planning to sell son and Salah and get Haaland back, what’s the plan?

Once the money is spread around, it’s almost impossible to get back to having all 3 without playing wildcard/taking multiple hits. Do people plan to only have 2/3 until the wildcard?

Don’t spread the money around, buy 2 mids that leaves enough to get all 3 back over time.

Trent might be better pick than Son. You have to sell someone for Haaland. Solanke?

We don't know when they are back and if they are fit and in form. Son is capable to blank many games in a row, he isn't that essential imo.

Assuming you want them back (I recall the last time Salah returned from AFCON he was right off the pace) then you just make a plan to bring them in over multiple weeks. Or, take hits / play wildcard. Whatever you think scores more

What is the second WC going to be held for otherwise? If you lock in your big premiums, will you WC them out for the sake of a random double? Or will it be best used this year to deal with this problem?

Precisely my point. For some, an early WC to get Salah, Son and Haaland all in quickly could give them an advantage over those who take hits or do it over a longer period. All depends on how you value the WC

I plan to just have 2 of the three back in with a cheaper alternative until I move money around.

Seems the way forward may be 2 premium mids and then a bunch of cheapy value (as there are so many options and they are smashing it)

Not spreading the funds around. Going without TAA or a strong 8th attacker so that can go back to the Haaland + Salah + Son setup.

Seen some chat on here about Estupiñan being price locked, or not depending on the source. If he goes up I will be priced out of Solanke to Haaland. Should I do Saliba to Estupiñan tonight or wait? Saliba has a nice couple of fixtures next.

Ahhh this makes much more sense 😆 I am keeping Salah and Son on my bench so not bothered about international fixtures. Won’t be able to afford them after and I will have Salah Son and Haaland in my team, which very few other active players will have unless they take a lot of hits or compromises in quality of their other assets

Fair enough, so that means you need 4 defenders then?

I think you will have an edge but you are going to be playing catch-up and with the wildcard, people can get there.

Also worth noting that people are going to value up on the assets they sell for Son and Salah

Son and Salah won’t drop much in value though and I have the assets that people are getting in for them (Foden, Bowen etc) so I should benefit from the price rises and will still have the three best premium assets this season in 3-4 GWs when they come home. I will actually be at the AFCOM final too!

                  Nice! Have fun there!

I agree they won't drop that much and that's not why I'm planning on selling

I want the points I can get today and I can always downgrade Saka/Trent/Watkins/Bowen/Foden to get all three back in for the future.

Anyway, stay with your gut, don't let people change your mind. It's a strategy that could give you a big edge!

My point is, this could easily be a transfer and a 4 point loss swing. Surely this gameweek you have other fires.

I think you focus on front 7 and as long as you have some defenders who play with good fixtures, forget about the defence and wasting a FT on them.

I got rid of trips this week for Estu, it worked out and he had some horrible fixtures.

I wouldn't get rid of Gabriel for Estu though (I have Gab) because it could be a sideways transfer

Have you got Gabriel? I think both teams are unreliable for clean sheets but I guess Pervis has attacking potential. For Saliba I would. He's not got a very high ceiling

It’s also the opportunity cost of not being able to bring in Haaland that needs to be factored in. No team is keeping CSs at the moment so my thinking is that at least Brighton are attacking and Estupiñan may get an occasional assist or goal

And in fact to concentrate on my front 7 I would need to downgrade Saliba to get Haaland again. The question is if I do it for Pervis or somebody else. 4.9m is my limit.

If you're nailing your strategy as above, then yes, do it, sounds like you have a plan and if Haaland isn't back, you still have someone to play so the risk is less

I have just gone the transfer to not run the risk, thanks for the comments. My logic was that there won’t be much difference in points between Estupiñan and Saliba in all probability but getting in Haaland will make an impact so better to go with the option that allows me to get him in

I mean watching them also I have no faith in them keeping a CS. You just know they are going to concede. I thought they actually looked better defensively at the start but I think teams start to figure it out and find ways. I certainly don't think double Arsenal defence is wise like many were saying. 1 is more than enough

Everyone scared about how starved for service Bowen looked without paquetá and kudus tonight should know paquetá should be back for the next game, he said on a recent Instagram post he’ll only be injured for a week/ https://www.instagram.com/p/C1cHdwlivRT/?igsh=MTR1MDNnc2loMXJ1NQ==

Also the context of the game is important. We are riddled with injuries right now, even more than brighton are. So moyes approached the game protecting 6th place rather than risking losing it trying to play expansively.

The approach to the Sheffield United game will be different I imagine

He is my captain for next GW too but will revise based on if Paquetá is back or not

Completely agree with all of this which is why I am hoping everybody knee jerks him out, wasting a FT and leaving me to continue enjoying his steady points as I have for the last number of GWs

Nice, that's more convincing on Bowen. Paqueta and Kudus accounted for >40% of West Ham's xA from open play since Kudus came into the team.

Kudus will be missed but I don’t expect Ghana to advance too far into the AFCON so he may well be back for that small fixture turn that starts with United

My first good performance of the season with 100 points all in. Made the right calls and it’s given me a 950k rank boost in a single gw. Only half the season gone so all is not lost. Let’s go!

From 2.5m to 1.6m. Still having a very poor season but I’ll take it. Not sure how I link my team tbh

Tempted. Though contrary to some, I'm not a massive fan of the fixture. Rich quite a poor record vs. MUN too, 1 goal in 11 games.

I don't know how to read this, have I hit that old age where I don't understand how kids talk to each other now?

Guess I'm slow or don't have the attention span to figure out what is being said.

From my perspective, if you don't take the time to type our correct sentences, why should I take the time to figure it out
