If I now plan to free hit in 29, would replacing Pinnock with Gabriel over Pau sound more logical?
Who else is better (max budget of 5.3)?

Yes get as many quality players that are likely to blank in GW29 as possible. Those who are planning to navigate GW29 without chips will need to get rid of most of those in the GWs leading up to the blank to field an 11 in it. So there are gains to be made out of keeping/getting those as well as on the FH GW itself.

I have started to wonder if fielding many players is even needed. I am looking at Trippier with 1 pt now and binary results for defenders are quite common this season. Only Arsenal seens to get predictable clean sheets. My rival managed once to get total 0 points from his defenders. I am considering to get just some dgw players and saving FH for bigger upside on gw38. That is the week when some players are on beach and some players score goals for fun. This dgw being huge failure for me means that climbing the ranks as planned isn't going to work.

that makes sense... but im currently on only 29 gw players...and none are planned in besides toney/morris...

So ill be 7 players down. assuming i get 2-3 from each, thats 14-21 (And means i dont need to take hits)
