After delving into the Gameweek 5-8 data for Defenders yesterday afternoon, we now set our sights on the midfielders. Arsenal’s in-form duo arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over City and West Ham’s summer signings and analyse the recent displays of Southampton’s wide men as the fixtures turn in their favour.
Highly doubt it
naah, mourinho claimed its Hazard's decision whether he wants to take them or not
Does that mean Haz decides to let Oscar take the last one?
"He's the best player in this country - and the penalty taker in this country too. If he's the best, the ball is on the spot. He is my first option." his words
Fair enough. So it's Hazard's unless he decides to pass them on. Cheers

Best option here?
A) Kun -> Costa/Bony/Lukaku
B) Sinclair & Kun -> KDB & Lukaku (-4)
Sanchez, Mane, Pedro, Mahrez, Sinclair
Aguero, Pelle, Vardy
Bank 0.6m, 1FT, Both WCs available (planning a GW11/13 WC)I quite like B with WC available, who's you bench this week? Or AOA?
AOA already wasted 🙁
Ruddy
Bellerin, Kolarov, Huth
Sanchez, Mane, Pedro, Mahrez
Kun, Pelle, Vardy
Rudd, Sinclair, Coates, Targett
Bank 0.6m
Given the GW11 WC plan I'm edging towards A) with Costa and then Pedro -> Wally next week.
If going B) though, I could potentially save the WC as would have 2 decent MCY + LukakuAOA gone, use A.
That said if you can save it, week 18 looks good.
A, imo.
Don't mind taking a hit if Aguero is out for 3+
Butland
Kolarov Gabriel Williams
Sanchez Walcott Mata Payet
Pelle Vardy Sturridge
Hennessey Mahrez Nyom Gamboa
Think I'm sorted.aguero out for 3 weeks?
Minimum 3 imo but most likely. If it's worse possibly 4-6 weeks.
So March 2013 all over again. Aguero big trannies in, price rise imminent, FFS trannies in to catch the price change, Aguero midweek injury, mega lols.
Price already risen. Happy with it too as it gives me a .1 cushion before I can lose my profit on him.
Yup same here.
Oh the wonders an Aguero less team can be now.Bony (C) 4
KdB(c) 30 😉
Dayum you got me
May be my goto option now tbh, will have too see Bony adapt first before I consider giving him the armband.
I was struggling with where to spend my money before this injury, now it'll just have to sit in the bank earning no interest.
That's a nice safe alternative for sure. But if this injury is in the realm of 8-10 weeks, then there's just too many good options with great fixtures now. Mata/Martial, Lukaku/Barkley/Coleman, Cedric/Mané/Pelle, KdB/Silva/Bony, Sánchez/Bellerin/Walott. I'll have to use all my money on that.
But I already have most of the attacking players I want and 3.5m sat in the bank.
Idk, if this is more long term, come Gw13 the likes of Mahrez & Vardy's fixtures turn for the worst. Surely by then more investment is warranted in your attack, no?
Palace, Newcastle, & Watford('til Gw16) are the only teams with cheap attackers that would interest me.Oh sure, if he's out for more than two or three weeks I'll find ways to spend the money. But if he is only mssing a week or two then a large scale redistribution is unlikely and possibly counter-productive.
Definitely, that goes without mention 🙂
hence we should never make transfers at the start of international breaks, too many uncertainties. taking a 0.1 or 0.2 price drop is nothing compared to transferring in an injured player
I dunno, some players never break down, Sergio though needs cotton wool and bubble wrap nightly.
kun out makes the game a lot more interesting tbh
This
I see it as an opportunity.
At least it happened now rather than vs Bournemouth in the opening minutes where we've all captained him.
Yeah. it was always on the cards at some point his hammy will go.
I was worried Alexis would get hurt and he puts in a harder 90 min than Ive ever seen him play.
He was everywhereOne more to go.
Touchdown Colts.
Got Colts +4.5 🙂
Looks good.
Surprised to see Foster back out there.
Do they show NFL in Australia or you just streaming?
They show.
Will Klopp improve Sturridge? Or is that another injury waiting to happen?
He's an injury waiting to happen unless they actually cured him when he was here in the U.S. Recuperating
Should make 0.1 on Kun at least if he drops back down to 13.1
Watching the footage of Aguero injury it doesn't look too bad. With such a long history hopefully he brought himself off at an early sign rather than a full blown tear.
Agree. Time to wait and see what the scans etc say.
This is a sensible attitude, but I fear we'll see a stampede for the exit after the flag goes on.
Money isn't an issue and team value doesn't matter whilst he's out.
True. But few pstchologicslly will want 13.3m sat on their bench.
But do they have UCL midweek? If so, I don't think he'll be risked even if fit for the weekend.
Good point. If you have a decent bench then 1 week isn't enough to sell imo even with the Derby next.
I have Redmond. Not sure if decent. Good fixture but won't start.
I have Westwood. Chelsea is good but Ivanovic and Matic might be out so CS 🙁
Lol, Ivan out may not be a bad thing for Chelsea.

Hmm. Defender kicks him quite hard on the knee area. Agüero has his foot planted to the ground during impact. Unlucky.thanks for the link. but yea hoping its a knee injury is clutching. he got kick in the right leg, but massaging his left hamstring. doesnt look great Root.
Pellegrini was so confident that Aguero wouldn't have any muscle injuries anymore. Jinxed it!
Kun stretchered means absolutely no chance of playing against Bou? Will hold if out for only one week.
Too early to say.
Could you imagine a World Cup without Brazil?
Its the 1st qualifying game, relax
I'd be seriously worried if I was a Brazilian. Dunga looks so out of his depth, fails to get anything out of such a talented squad. Heavy reliance on Neymar to carry the nation on his shoulders.
Agreed but its tough to see them not qualify.
CONMEBOL has 10 teams. 4 spots guaranteed plus 1 more goes to playoff.& those playoffs are nearly always vs weak opposition.
Uruguay played Jordan last time out. May as well give the spot to the Conmebol team.
Yeah, it's pretty unfair tbh
Chile, Columbia, Uruguay, Argentina plus 1.
It's not aa World Cup without Brazil.
Or corruption.
Brazil & corruption.I'd love it, just so we don't have to face them in the quarter finals & lose again. (like always)
Well done to anyone who played their wildcard this week
Why?
I'm assuming a medium term lay off for Aguero seeing he was stretchered off. So they can restructure to a nice Aguero less squad.
-4 does that in most cases unless defence gets an upgrade.
Yup. It's the defense I'm thinking of. Most midfields are template anyway. Could add a Theo to the midfield too now.
Need a few more injuries for a well done imo.
Probably. Still in shock at the Kun news I guess
aggy + chadli to kdb + ?
Jaelen Strong again!
2 career receptions, 2 TDs.
who benefits more without aggy?
A. Yaya
B. Silva
C. SterlingYaya imo
Shouldn't have pulled trigger on Yaya > Mane to save 0.2
Gonna cost me to bring in MCI mid and Pelle/Lukaku
Historically, Yaya as he'll (presumably) take the PK's. Though last year, it was really Silva who thrived in the hole with Jov/Milner up top. Getting into more attacking positions & with more attacking burden placed on him. Granted, the dynamic has changed now with both KdB & Sterling.
will sterling play striker?
Surely Bony if he's fit, no? I think Pelle needs Sterling to provide the necessary width in attack tbh, not to mention Iheanacho is also a striker.
Could be the nacho.
Sterling upfront?
I think Kun went off as a precaution. The defender kicks his right knee and at the end he mildly grabs his left hammy. It looks like the guy kicked his knee pretty good which is probably why he was wincing so much. Twitter from Aguero later saying he is fine.
Height of optimism 🙂
No tweet from Aguero out there, unless he removed it.
There is a comment that injury is not same he was carrying from manager
I want seven midfielders. 🙂
Mane, Payet, Walcott, Sanchez, KDB, Mata, Silva?
Yep, plus I'm in no rush to dump Mahrez or Ayew either.
True. If Mahrez plays this week and gets points, things get complicated on midfield selection.
Get 2 more players who are OOP and play as midfielder in real world, and you have 7. Dier / Son?
Haha.
Best option for a -8 if Kun is out for atleast 3weeks:
Kun + Wanyama to
A. Lukaku + Mane
B. Sturridge + Tadic
C. Others?I'd get Lukaku + Mané, who knows if Klopp will even rate Sturridge.
Costa (C) anyone?
Curious, why Costa for you?
Costa raring to go after suspension against a Villa defense? Who is a better candidate? (I don't have KDB)
Raring to go = another red card?
Hasn't been red carded once in his Chelsea career.
So yeah, it's a real possibility!Ha, didn't know that!
shocking stat
He's got one more game?
I can see logic behind that, if you're confident & have that gut feeling go for it. Don't let anyone stay you away 🙂
Yet, but Costa has been very poor thus far & has no form to back him as well. I really haven't seen anything good enough from him to consider captaining him. Not to mention he has very poor underlying stats to boot.
If I had Hazard, I'd take that option more seriously as he's shown more form in the field & just in general been more of a threat imo.It would be a big risk if Aguero was fit, but the options that are left to me now means its not that big of a risk with potentially high rewards. I'm not confident though. May just go with Sanchez in the end.
Bony or Iheanacho?
Bony, still haven't seen enough of I see a nacho, to give a good verdict though.
aguero injury was awful for mancity titile hopes.....also for fpl coz i used my wildcard to get aguero in hahaaa
If you're on your wildcard now you're in a position to take maximum advantage if Agüero is out for a while.
true but i used the wildcard to bring him in..hos ownership was alarminging high and bouremouth and manu next 2 features means alot of goals haha.. :/
Depends how bad he is injured. I'm on my wildcard and was very happy with my team with Aguero in it. With Aguero out it is pretty much the same. If I strengthen my defence i'll have a hard time bringing Aguero back in if the injury is short term.
pretty tricky situation for wildcarders....cant use the.money elsewhere or no aguero in the near future... :/
Not at all. It's great for wildcarders as they can reinvest the money straight away. For everyone else, sell Aguero and that money is sitting idle unless you take a point hit.
true if aguero has a long term injury...but what about say 3 or 4 weeks... wildcarders will then haveto take hits to bring him back
They'd take hits to bring him back in, same as anyone who sold him would.
And if someone doesn't sell him, they've got 13m and a captain option on the bench scoring 0 each week.
Wildcarders do not have it harder than anyone else! By the time the deadline comes we'll all have a good idea whether it's two weeks or two months.
If only out for 1-2 weeks worth Pelle for -4 or run 3-5-2
Sanchez (c) Mane Payet Mahrez Barkley
Vardy Ighalo (Aguero)I think Pelle could be worth a 4 point hit.
Just reading about Aguero... Looks like its cat amongst the pigeons time!
Who knows. Martino saying it is different to injury he has been carrying
Yeah, its definitely a 'wait for more information' situation at the moment. Potentially though...
Kick to the knee. No worries. Break out the Icy Hot.
Didn't they use to use magic spray for this?
City Chief @City_Chief 2m2 minutes ago
Martino on Aguero: "He was moving around the pitch well, but unfortunately he felt some discomfort and we are going to lose him."
City Chief @City_Chief 44s45 seconds ago
Martino: "I haven't spoken to the doctor but I can confirm the injury is not the same as the one he had been carrying with his club." #mcfcthe one he had been carrying with his club??
The plot thickens...Kick to the knee. Sore for a few days and then back at it.
Hammy tonight.
He was brought off early at the weekend for something minor.
"I had a problem with my hamstring in the last game in the Champions League against Borussia Monchengladbach, but now I am feeling good."
Does this mean its not a hamstring injury?
Cheers, Root.
Surely that second comment from Martino is him trying to cover his ass for playing Aguero with an injury?
Sooooo Sturridge time?
I'm thinking Steven Fletcher. Scoring some nice goals lately.
from the frying pan, into the fire.
Hopefully they can alternate their injuries haha
or Sanchez+Hazard time?
Costa time.
I feel like before GW1 where everyone seems as a great option.. 2 transfers with Aguero out, limitless possibilities
Woah, hold your horses there 😉
Wonder if Pellegrini will go Navas Silva KDB with Sterling up front.
Unlikely. Bony comes in imo
Might as well sell Bony now otherwise
He's hated at City also in woeful form. Wouldn't surprise me if Sterling or Nacho play ahead of him.
Hated at City based on what?
Based on him being a complete donkey who can't finish his dinner. Guarantee you he'll be sold in the summer.
8 years, 8 months ago
Any chance Costa will be on pens - from memory I believe Hazard missed the last couple.
Was Costa on the pitch when Oscar took the last one?
