Our summer series of members’ articles, offering an in-depth team-by-team analysis of the previous campaign, gets underway this evening.
Starting with Arsenal, we’ll look at the performance levels of each team and attempt to spot trends or improvements.
We then delve into the player data, analysing the key individuals as we scour for early targets ahead of the new campaign.
In certain cases, we also focus on any specific periods of interest brought about by tactical changes or breakout Fantasy performances – in the Gunners’ case, this involves a switch in formation to a 3-4-2-1 in the latter stages of the campaign.
Runners-up to Leicester City on 71 points in 2015/16, the Gunners chalked up 75 points this time around but could only muster a fifth place finish.
Although Arsene Wenger’s side also found the net more often (up from 65 goals to 77), their underlying numbers reveal an overall decline in performance.
