Man City’s Sergio Aguero confirms his fitness for the trip to Leicester City. Toby Alderweireld is sidelined until around Christmas ahead of Spurs’ north London derby with Arsenal, but both Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli are expected to be in contention.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, will have Christian Benteke available for their home meeting with Everton. Here’s our round-up of the team news so far, with nine press conferences still to come.
Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero took to social media yesterday to declare himself fit for the trip to Leicester City, seemingly feeling no ill effects from the dizzy spell he suffered while on international duty with Argentina.
Pep Guardiola is due to speak later today and, while we’re expecting the City boss to remain cagey, the signs are that Aguero will be in the squad at the King Power Stadium. Whether he’s chosen for the starting line-up is another matter – Gabriel Jesus has been selected for each and every away match so far this season.
Arsene Wenger has revealed that he doesn’t believe Olivier Giroud (thigh) will be fit for the derby with Spurs, while Shkodran Mustafi (thigh) and Danny Welbeck (groin) will be assessed today.
Toby Alderweireld will miss the trip to the Emirates due to a hamstring injury, and could be sidelined until after Christmas. But Mauricio Pochettino will be buoyed by the fact Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane all returned to full training yesterday.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed he will make a late decision on Josh King, who hasn’t trained so far this week due to a back injury. Benik Afobe is back in contention after overcoming a groin injury, but Junior Stanislas remains sidelined.
Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner will travel to the Vitality Stadium without the suspended Christopher Schindler. Martin Cranie is set to get the nod in his place. Meanwhwhile, the influential Aaron Mooy will be assessed today following his international exertions with Australia.
Similarly, Burnley manager Sean Dyche will assess Chris Wood today ahead of the home clash against Swansea City. The forward arrived back late from international duty with New Zealand and is also nursing a hamstring problem.
Paul Clement will be able to call upon Wilfried Bony, Renato Sanches, Leon Britton, Martin Olsson and Angel Rangel for the trip to Turf Moor after all five players missed the 1-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Christian Benteke is available for Crystal Palace’s home meeting with Everton, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek is doubtful due to a back spasm. He failed to train on Thursday and will undergo further assessment prior to Saturday’s clash.
Despite returning to training, Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina will miss the trip to Anfield due to an ankle injury.
Nacer Chadli picked up a fresh injury in training on Thursday ahead of West Bromwich Albion’s home encounter with Chelsea. Manager Tony Pulis has ruled out the Belgian “for the foreseeable future”. We will hear from Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte regarding knocks to Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi later today, though the latter is expected to miss out.
Chris Hughton has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion’s home clash against Stoke City on Monday night.
But the Potters will be without injured duo Jack Butland and Geoff Cameron for the trip to the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls have no new injury concerns, with Steve Sidwell their only notable absentee.
