FFS Cup

Fantasy Football Scout Cup – Quarter Final Draw

After six closely fought rounds, just eight managers remain in our Fantasy Premier League Cup competition.

The most eye-catching battle in the last 16 round saw the top placed manager Always Captain Kun, who is currently 18th in the overall rankings, defeated 67-64 by 59,811 ranked BroTown_Tindersticks.

Both played the Free Hit chip in Gameweek 35’s reduced set of matches with their Manchester City selection proving pivotal to the final outcome.

While BroTown_Tindersticks’s acquisition of David Silva netted him 10 points, Always Captain Kun’s opted for the non-playing Leroy Sane and had to settle for a solitary point from his replacement off the bench, Watford defender Kiko Femenia.

Next up for this giant-killer is another tough encounter, against 1,113 ranked Batmaniac, who emphatically saw off 310,615 placed minnow Meribenige in the sixth round.

Both have the Triple Captain chip to play but it would seem likely that they will be saving this for Gameweek 37’s Double Gameweek.

In 764 spot sits UTK, who is now the highest ranked manager left in the competition.

His last 16 score of 81 points, thanks to the deployment of his Free Hit chip, was the highest of the round and sets him up with a quarter-final tie against 35,991 placed 2EyedTurk.

UTK will be hoping for a strong showing for his Spurs assets, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli against Watford on Monday night. They will also be hoping that Manchester City inflict modest damage to the West Ham defence, as they are currently without any of Pep Guardiola’s title-winning attack.

In contrast, 2 Eyed Turk is without any Spurs attackers but has three Manchester City assets, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane, already in place for Gameweek 36.

Dmcqt defeated N@th by a single point in their last 16 clash. Next up for this 1,420 placed manager is a quarter-final encounter with Boxing Can Girouds, who is ranked 13,546 places behind him.

Both used their Free Hit chip in Gameweek 35 and currently go into the next set of matches without any Manchester City options. But while Dmcqt has now used up all his chips, Boxing Can Girouds has his Triple Captain chip to call on, though again, this looks likely to be saved for a potential semi-final tie should they progress.

Mr Cookie (rank 3,264) saw off Lamela and Consuela in the last 16 by 65 – 41 to book a place in the quarter finals against PetesBlair (rank 7,564).

They are another pair that used their Free Hit chip in Gameweek 35 and are also both without Manchester City cover.

Investment in Guardiola’s attack looks likely, but it could be that Spurs assets decide their tie. While Mr Cookie has Alli and Son, PetesBlair will be hoping for a strong showing from Kane and Christian Eriksen.

The full last 16 results can be found here, while the quarter final draw can be found here.

    Hi guys,

I think about rolling the 1 FT over, since for the GW i like the team.

    Schmeichel
    Robertson-Lowton-Christensen
    Son-Mahrez-Willian-Lingard
    Aubameyang-Kane(c)-Vardy

    De Gea-Gudmundsson-Naughton-Jones

    Thx!

After having a nice shiny FHT team, I'm now back to my old original BB team from 34:

    DDG
    Dunk Morgan Lowton
    Mahrez Gross Son Gudmun
    Auba Vardy(vc) Kane(C)

    Ryan Lingard Tarkowski Alonso
    £0.7ITB 1FT

    A) Save FT
    B) Auba>Jesus
    C) Auba Gross Gudm Alonso > Ayew Salah Sterling Naughton (-12)

I guess im wondering why he wouldnt be, a couple of my mates are avid Spurs fans with season tickets and seem to think he will play the remaining games. If speculation is true and Rose is on his way out, would that provide an incentive to play him and demonstrate his fitness, maybe, but why disrupt teams momentum when challenging for top 4. Rose has been out a long time.

True but what i mean is he has had an inury ridden season, why Poch would try and get him back on the pitch now at such a critical point in the season I dont know. He hasn't had a consistent run. Just seen your comment below, will mull it over, may end up keeping Alonso or down grade him to a Swan def for cash. Cheers

Aye, you see what I mean though, every so often he randomly starts a game. So while Davies will no doubt play most, it wouldn't be surprising to see Rose pop up in one of them.

I got him before Rose's supposed injury.

No it's not. With nothing to play for teams tend not to focus on defense too much and just go all out on attack.

It's better to have defenders likely to score some offensive returns.

Am playing WC this week as below, (12 DGW players for GW37)

    Ederson* Fabianski*
    Smalling* Chilwell* Morgan* Dummett* Long
    Sterling* Eriksen* Kenedy* Salah Milivojevic
    Kane* Jesus* Vardy*

Not sure the best way to use the BB and TC chips. Am thinking BB in DGW37 and TC in GW38, is that the right strategy?
    Yes or No?

    Karius (STK)
Christensen (swa) - Smalling (ARS) - Lowton (BHA) - Mustafi (mun)
William (swa) - Son (WAT) - Salah (STK)
Kane (WAT) - Barnes (BHA) - Lukaku (ARS)

Current bench: Ryan (bur) - Gundogan (whu) - Chilwell (cry) - Kenedy(WBA)

I would like to play everyone this gameweek, but I need to bench three of them.

I have a spot free...can't make Otamendi money though, so it can only be Kompany...not sure he'll play both in the double.

That's the problem. Don't know if anyone will start both the doubles.
I am.thinking about doubling on spurs defence ?

I've already got Kane, Alli and Son...not an option for me

I have a spot each of city and spurs. I don't have a Chelsea defender. Considering rudiger or Christensen

I've got Pogba to Arnie locked in next week to free up 0.8m hopefully.

Can then use the 1.6m I'll hopefully have to upgrade a Burnley 4.5 or Dunk, preferably to City.

Could get Man U in, but I've already got DDG.

Not sure I'd trust a Chelsea defender...can't keep a clean sheet...go Spurs or City.

Rose is injured again I believe, go Bavies.

Think I'd play Fernandez and Mustafi ahead of Morgan

Dont like Morgan and Mahrez, think Liec have given up. You might regret the gk choice but great diff. if it comes off 😉

I don't see why not, but you never know. It's not like they need him to play.

Hey guys, do these moves make sense? 1 FT and 0.7 ITB Other suggestions welcome.

    GW36 - Mahrez & Bailly > Eriksen & Naughton for -4 hit (0.1 short on getting Erik)

    GW37 - Lukaku & GroB > Jesus & Silva for -4 hit

    DDG - Hennessey
    Bailly - Alonso - Lowton - Long - Morgan
    Salah - Willian - Son - Mahrez - GroB
    Lukaku - Vardy - Barnes.
