FPL managers expect win and clean sheet for Man United against Newcastle

Paul Pogba (£8.1m) will be the Fantasy Premier League focus of Saturday’s late kick-off, amid rumours over manager Jose Mourinho’s future.

The Manchester United midfielder is the most popular player in the fixture as Newcastle United visit Old Trafford. He is currently in 14.7% of squads.

He recently overtook Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) whose ownership suffered from the switch to Harry Kane (£12.5m) for Gameweek 8, who blanked in a 1-0 win over Cardiff.

Meanwhile, there will be interest in the Man United defence with Newcastle’s recent struggles in front of goal.

David De Gea (£5.9m) remains the most fashionable Red Devil defensive asset, in 19.8% of squads, but Luke Shaw (£5.1m) may prove the more effective.

He has 10.5% backing from the Fantasy community and looks like he could also pull in some attacking returns.

Newcastle are still a club for the Fantasy hipsters, with no player boasting more than Joselu‘s (£5.0m) 4.8%. However, the striker has not started the match with Ayoze Pérez (£6.1m) and Yoshinori Muto (£5.7m) preferred up front.

      Profligacy is the word I would use, they waste so many chances in games. Need a killer striker like Ruud/RVP/Aguero mould. Lukaku only turns up every 3 games and only when all the stars are aligned.

    Getting Kane, even for a hit was a valid move. The fact it didn't pay off doesn't matter.

      Well, it matters, but it was a reasonable move. I got Kane for free, and am disappointed. On paper, it was a valid play. Hazard. Idk. Ownership and % captaining factors into the upside and downside of eden having a strong game. Kane blank was the first captain blank for many of us this season. Ironic.

    On Man U - Newcastle...

    I hope Jose doesn't try to pass that off as some sort of success.
    That was a disgraceful performance, and the worst MU defence of my lifetime (I'm 37).

    Yes, he beat the Toon (my team) but our entire matchday squad cost about half of a Paul Pogba. The Newcastle United bench was our worst in decades. I think we'll stay up due to Rafa's brains and our grit, but make no mistake, Man Utd were awful today. If we'd had a striker that cost more than £10m in the squad, we'd have taken our opportunities first half and won that by 5/6.

    Not bitter, I'd have taken a draw before the game and expected to be thrashed.

    I can't see how Jose can stay in that job though.

      I'm glad I didn't get Vardy in the end though 😀 Even if we see red arrows today we should feel good about our no-Kane plan!

        Yeah, was out and didn't see the 3pm game results until well after so was delighted to find out that Kane blanked!
        Probably sounds like Captain Hindsight but I've watched most of Watford's games and have been well impressed with a couple of their performances but had this niggling feeling that they were way over performing at the same time!

    ML leader was 46 points ahead of me at the start of the day.

    Used his FH chip to get Kane (c), Pogba, Shaw, Lukaku, Arnie and Ozil.

    I saved my transfer and captained Haz.

    He has 31 points plus BAPs with just Ozil left, I have 26 plus BAPs and 5 to go inc captain.

    Got to be happy so far with today’s proceedings. 🙂
