Hazard and Hudson-Odoi start for Chelsea as Higuain returns

The final match of Blank Gameweek 33 takes place this evening, as West Ham United make the short trip across London to face Chelsea. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is at 20:00 BST.

Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi keep their places in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI and are joined in Chelsea’s front three by Gonzalo Higuain, who replaces the benched Olivier Giroud.

Given Chelsea’s congested fixture schedule and Sarri’s comments on Friday about “having to change”, there are perhaps not quite as many alterations as we anticipated to the Blues’ line-up.

Sarri’s only other change is an expected one, with Antonio Rudiger replacing Andreas Christensen at centre-half.

Pedro has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes alongside Christensen, Giroud, Willian, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic.

There is no Marcos Alonso in the squad, with the Spanish left-back having been a doubt for this match after suffering a hamstring injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recovered from back and hamstring problems to start, however.

After the Hammers’ dismal display against Everton in Gameweek 32, there is perhaps no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes to his starting XI.

Marko Arnautovic isn’t one of those changes, however, despite Javier Hernandez‘s return to the West Ham team.

Felipe Anderson and Ryan Fredericks have recovered from injury to start, while Fabian Balbuena is in the Hammers’ starting XI for the first time since December.

Mark Noble is also recalled as Issa Diop, Pablo Zabaleta, Robert Snodgrass, Pedro Obiang and Lucas Perez make way.

All bar Zabaleta of that quintet are among the substitutes tonight.

West Ham were the first team to prevent Hazard from registering an attacking return this season when the two clubs drew 0-0 in Gameweek 6.

The Belgian winger was the third-most-bought and third-most-captained Fantasy asset of Gameweek 33.

Noble is the only member of West Ham’s starting XI to score or assist an away goal this calendar year.

The Hammers are without a victory away from the London Stadium since December.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have kept clean sheets in seven of their last ten home league matches.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Higuain, Hazard.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

Don't have to keep him for the rest of the season. Easy swap to Firmino vs Huddersfield in GW36.

Deeney's fixtures aren't good after the double either.

I',m 0.1 away from doing TAA -> Robertson.

    A) Valery-> Bednarek
    B) Dunk-> Montoya
    C) Leave it and keep TAA

Any of the options worth it? Is it big differenc in terms of rotation risk? I dont have much knowledge about Brighton/Soton

    Appreciated!

A bit annoyed but what can you do. The big call was Pogba to Mane or Hazard, which I got wrong. But no point dwelling on it, I would've made the same decision again if I had the same circumstances. At least I didn't captain Mane, which I was considering!

Thanks, we'll see about that - with my recent run of red arrows I seem to be paying off all the captaincy luck I had in the beginning of the season!

More annoying than the Mane/Hazard call was the fact that I prepared for GW33 perfectly, by holding my Arsenal assets through the blank and not taking any hits for field what looked like a strong XI, and every single one of my differentials flopped. (we're not counting Pedro here because I admit that was a bad call - all others though were supposed to be good!)

Thoughts on BB in 36 so I can TC in 35. Not too bothered about benching Dunk, Duffy and Cam as don't like their fixtures. Only worry is rotation in 36 could hurt me?

I've had a reconsider of BB36 strategy. It depends on how you look at it.

If you want to go all out on Brighton assets + Camarasa then it probably makes sense to go for BB36.

But if you want to BB35, you'd have to ditch Camarasa and a Brighton defender.

You can always make your BB35 team decent without Brighton. Get in Lloris, Foster, Jota, JWP, Doherty, Deeney, etc... That would more likely outscore their SGW fixtures in 36.

Question is can you trust Brighton to haul in GW34? I personally don't think I can..

Ranked 65k, I really want to push into the top 30k at least. Top 20k.

What's the best way to maximise usage of my wildcard? BB and TC still to play

    Lloris, Foster
    Robbo, Doherty, Dunk, Duffy, Valery
    Sterling, Mane, Eriksen, Jota, JWP
    Kane, Jimenez, Deeney

    1.5m itb (to swap Dunk/Duffy in GW35)

Hi mate, I got 82 this week and pushed into just outside top 40k from 70k which was a surprise.

Im thinking something very very similar. Actually. I swear that's the team I made earlier Hahaha. Yup. Exact team :). I'm considering BB in 36 instead of 35 though. Not sureee

I'm concerned that BB36 could be a bit dodgy for rotation/injuries.. I guess if you had 2 FT then you could sort it out.

        I'm about 75% on BB35 strategy though, 25% on BB36 strategy.

Who would you TC in GW35 then?

Yh same I think. Prefer JWP to Cama and getting rid of a Brighton defender in 35 is probs my preferred transfer. Plus Newcastle will probs bag.

If I were I'd consider Kane, Jiminez, Jota or Son probs. Which tbf I'm probs more confident using it on Mane in 36

How’s this for first draft of WC. What would you suggest that would make it better?

    Foster, Patricio
    Robbo, Laporte, Duffy, Dunk, Valery
    Hazard, Sterling, Jota, JWP, Son
    Kane, Jiménez, Deeney

    BB GW35, Cheers

      I'm not sure about Patricio.

Wolves not really keeping clean sheets and you have a better shot at points if you went for Doherty who has the attacking potential

    Think I've got it!

    Ryan (Alisson)

    Duffy, Dunk, Kola (Robbo, Bednarek)
    Son, Mane, Eriksen, Jota (JWP)
    Kane, Laca, Jimenez

0.1 ITB, and then do Duffy > Doherty for GW35

Gives me nice Liverpool defence for the home run in so don't have to worry about rotating goalies. Thoughts?

    Duffy valery Laporte

Suprisingly, a player comparison between Son and Eriksen over last 6 matches settled it for me. Stats and xG all clearly pointing one way. On a side note, it would be great for the Comparison tool to filter by "matches started"

    Schmeichel - (Foster)
VVD - Pereira - Duffy - (Wan Bas - Lascelles)
    Salah - Mane - Westwood - Hazard - (Fraser)
    Kane(c) - Rondon - Jim

On a -4 for this week.

Vardy + Rice -> Kane and Duffy

        1. Both have super high ownership
        2. They both set me up for GW35 nicely

I had to get them.... my ML rival also has his WC and will 100% get both of them.

Might keep Haz now next week too. And as much as I hate to say it, his form is dangerously good and he may do some damage against Liverpool

I think it'll be a big disappointment tbh. Too much focus on teams with double games, and not enough focus on form and what each team/player has to play for.

City won't do well, might still win, but it'll be tight. If they can come through their schedule without a loss or injuries then sadly they will probably win the comp.

Spurs, wolves & watford are the go to's for 35.
            Avoid arsenal.

Liverpool and Chelsea players will outscore DGW players.

Teams between 11th-18th could all still be relegated or stay up.
A lot of these guys play each other soon too. Think there will be goals here.

Burnley in particular is in BIG trouble. Look at their position and then their fixtures. Expect a few upsets from them I reckon.

Southampton also need points badly. Redmond/Long/Ings need goals if they are to stay up.

GW34 is Brighton's big chance to get points. 35 looks tough for them. But I never like to bet against teams fighting for PL survival. There are ALWAYS upsets.
