Hazard and Hudson-Odoi start for Chelsea as Higuain returns

The final match of Blank Gameweek 33 takes place this evening, as West Ham United make the short trip across London to face Chelsea. Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is at 20:00 BST.

Eden Hazard and Callum Hudson-Odoi keep their places in Maurizio Sarri’s starting XI and are joined in Chelsea’s front three by Gonzalo Higuain, who replaces the benched Olivier Giroud.

Given Chelsea’s congested fixture schedule and Sarri’s comments on Friday about “having to change”, there are perhaps not quite as many alterations as we anticipated to the Blues’ line-up.

Sarri’s only other change is an expected one, with Antonio Rudiger replacing Andreas Christensen at centre-half.

Pedro has recovered from injury to take his place among the substitutes alongside Christensen, Giroud, Willian, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic.

There is no Marcos Alonso in the squad, with the Spanish left-back having been a doubt for this match after suffering a hamstring injury.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recovered from back and hamstring problems to start, however.

After the Hammers’ dismal display against Everton in Gameweek 32, there is perhaps no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini has made five changes to his starting XI.

Marko Arnautovic isn’t one of those changes, however, despite Javier Hernandez‘s return to the West Ham team.

Felipe Anderson and Ryan Fredericks have recovered from injury to start, while Fabian Balbuena is in the Hammers’ starting XI for the first time since December.

Mark Noble is also recalled as Issa Diop, Pablo Zabaleta, Robert Snodgrass, Pedro Obiang and Lucas Perez make way.

All bar Zabaleta of that quintet are among the substitutes tonight.

West Ham were the first team to prevent Hazard from registering an attacking return this season when the two clubs drew 0-0 in Gameweek 6.

The Belgian winger was the third-most-bought and third-most-captained Fantasy asset of Gameweek 33.

Noble is the only member of West Ham’s starting XI to score or assist an away goal this calendar year.

The Hammers are without a victory away from the London Stadium since December.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have kept clean sheets in seven of their last ten home league matches.

Chelsea XI: Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson, Kante, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Higuain, Hazard.

West Ham United XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Arnautovic, Hernandez.

Depends on your team? A double up on spurs attack, and maybe a defender too, could be a huge differential for you to catch him

Very catchable. Look at who is playing Huddersfield for the coming weeks and captain the player most likely to score big. You could make up most of that difference by captaining Kane against Huddersfield next week. Then get Deeney, Salah, and Rashford for the next weeks. You could be well ahead without any trouble.

Anyone considering going without Brighton defence at all? Fixtures are pretty terrible after the GW34 double. Duffy could potentially haul in 34 though which makes him hard to ignore

Yeah I'm leaning towards doing the same. The goal threat plus the GW34 fixtures seem too good to ignore but I'm not so sure about 35

          Murray and Duffy actually.
          Murray> Deeney for 35 ..
          Duffy to stay .

Unsure about Dunk too. Gw35 puts me off. But those 34 fixtures are great.. 2cs would be golden..and we already know the threat the cbs possess

That's a good plan for Murray. I'm doing something similar getting Camarasa for 34 and then switching to Deulofeu/Doucoure for 35. Yeah the double defence could be huge in 34 but 35 is putting me off too

Brighton have just 2 clean sheets and 5 goals on the last 7 league games, they now have lots of games in a short period of time so are going to be tired if they don’t rotate ... not sure where the points are going to come from.

Duffy has scored when Brighton have been knocking a few goals in, but if Brighton aren’t scoring then Duffy isn’t scoring either

At best he is a BB player in 35 but the fixtures aren’t great - doubt I will get any Brighton because I don’t want them in my starting 11 or my 35 bench boost

sorry if this is a stupid question but please help me out you experts.

i'm planning to use WC for GW 34 then use Bench Boost/TC on GW 35. I can't decide on which chip to use(what do you recommend?)

My question is: could there be another DGW or mini DGW? or nobody knows what will happen? because if there will be another DGW/mini DGW i thought it'd be better to use bench boost on GW 35 and TC on a mini DGW.

    Thank you!

    1. Holmes
      • 10 Years

GW34 is mini DGW, no doubles between 36-38

    2. Amey
      • 5 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

Nope. No more dgw's after gw 35.

      A. if you are picking up Template WC team, gw 36 is also great for BB, so you can use TC in gw 35.

      B. OR BB in 35 & play TC anytime you wish

    3. Carlton_Goal
      • 8 Years
      5 years, 1 month ago

No more DGW, all fixtures for the rest of the season are final now. You can probably get a lot more value out of bench boosting in 35. United and Liverpool still have Huddersfield after GW 35 so either of those games could be a chance to use your triple captain?

    4. Lazaretti
      • 6 Years

Use BB on GW35. Fixture schedule is complete so there wont be any other DGW's. Maybe someone can confirm this.

Thank you Holmes. One more question. Do the likes of Wolves and Watford have any real motivation to play at their best in terms of PL standings? Chasing my ML leader so I do not want mid table teams with their mind already at the beach occupy 4-5 places in my team.

7th spot for Europa League qualification is still open.

Watford will probably try to maintain the momentum whereas Wolves will try to finish 7th. I guess we will see rotation for Watford in GW37/38.

Then there is financial aspect as well: https://talksport.com/football/376346/how-much-money-each-premier-league-club-earned-tv-and-their-final-position-180518283150/

Personally I wouldnt go all out on them, just one piece of both teams will do the job

For a -4, probably not. Rondon passed the eye test very well vs Palace, the heroics of Guaita stopping the ball several times from hitting the net. Leicester aren't exactly the best defensive side, and add Rodgers into the mix, who imo has never learnt to set up a decent defensive setup for most of his career, I think Rondon's a decent shout.

DGW ahead I wanted to know what peoples thoughts are on city players. IMO city players are a risk with their intense fixture list. I see alot of kun & sterling in alot of teams but do we really think they will play in all 3 prem games and champs??

I think peps roulette will be full steam and we are up for alot of unpredictability.

If there are any players who maybe win on the roulette I think it's laporte, bilva and zinchenko. But will city keep clean sheets with the fixtures ahead? Not it's worth the risk which only leaves bilva who pep loves and can play in various positions.

    Anyway rant over, thoughts please.

    1. Differential C (Mark)

City want to win as many titles as possible. They will have to try and play their best players in the "big games", obviously.

Despite rotation, the thing about City assets is that they are so insanely talented that one appearance could reap a HUGE score. Im banging on that particular notion. A games vs the big six isnt the worst fixture either, City are always the favorites, bar maybe Liverpool.

Safest assets probably Ederson, Laporte, Bilva and Kun. Im personally going Sterling becoz I think the strikers I currently have have the ability to outscore him in the coming GWs, and he is the most explosive midfield option in City imo.

Good point of view. But unlike the previous dgw I think the potential for high scores are low. Hence imo a risk with city players.

        Either way GL

No but a wc is not a free hitnso you also need to plan for after the dgw. I am on a wc and am not likely to have a full squad of dgw players.

For me brooks is and issue due to Bournemouth being so poor, rondon is hit and miss and his a tricky end of season.

So it all depends on your outlook and tactics towards to your end of season

Is Dela->Dele or Deulofeu? Would honestly still go the Son route vee Dele, hearing from people that Alli plays a lot deeper recently.
If its Deulofeu, Not too sure how I feel about their assets, they will definitely want their best xi to not get injured before the final. But if it works, could be a nice sort if differential.

Tripps and Doherty are good shouts. Keep a watch over the Aurier situation and how it develops.

And also, how does it feel to have triple Saints, as a Pompey supporter? XD

My season from here on in will likely boil down to whether the big hitting strikers perform or not. If Kane, Kun, Auba/Laca score poorly I should do well, if they go mad I'll likely plummet down the rankings!

Maybe not Kun but Kane and Vardy for next GW.
I am keeping funds to move Vardy to Kun in GW35
