FFS Cup

The FFS Cup final is all set for Gameweek 37

Our second FFS Cup competition of the season reaches its climax this weekend.

Our final will be a battle between two managers who lurk just outside the top 1,000 in Fantasy Premier League.

Rotation’s Alter Ego and LOKOMOTIV both prevailed in their respective semi-finals to set up a showdown between the pair in Gameweek 37.

Losing semi-finalists Skogen89 and Ibra-gum will now contest the third-place play-off this weekend.

Rotation’s Alter Ego broke the 100-point barrier for the second Gameweek in a row and for the third time in five Gameweeks.

He was one of three semi-finalists – including opponent Skogen89 – to use the Triple Captain chip on Sadio Mane, who returned 13 points in Liverpool’s 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield Town on Friday.

Skogen89 was unfortunate to be eliminated as his score of 87 would have been enough to win the other semi-final.

LOKOMOTIV ran out the winner in that last-four encounter, with opponent Ibra-gum the only manager not to have their Triple Captain chip intact and indeed handing the armband to Son Heung-min, who blanked against West Ham.

The semi-final results were as follows:

NameScoreRankNameScoreRank
Skogen898719320vsRotation’s Alter Ego1031280
Ibra-gum61147195vsLOKOMOTIV841859

As of the Gameweek 36 deadline, LOKOMOTIV and Rotation’s Alter Ego shared only six players: Hugo Lloris, Son Heung-min, Sadio Mane, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Raul Jimenez.

There is plenty of overlap in terms of team representation, though: LOKOMOTIV owns Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mathew Ryan, Yan Valery, Matt Doherty, Maya Yoshida and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg where Rotation’s Alter Ego has Andrew Robertson, Shane Duffy, Jan Bednarek, Willy Boly, Angus Gunn and Nathan Redmond.

Rotation’s Alter Ego’s main “differentials” are Wilfried Zaha, Diogo Jota and Aymeric Laporte, with LOKOMOTIV owning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Sead Kolasinac.

Neither manager has made any transfers yet (at the time of writing), nor do they have any chips remaining.

Ibra-gum and Skogen89 shared nine players in Gameweek 36 and again, neither manager has any chips remaining heading into their third-place play-off.

Is worth taking a hit this week to take out Gray for another striker 6.8 or less? Or should I just play Gray vs Chelsea and not expect much.

    Thanks.

    Looking to shift Duffy, Eriksen.

    A) Duffy, Eriksen > TAA, Jota ( get Redmond next week)
    B) Duffy, Eriksen > Shaw, Pogba (play Hojbjerg next week)

    Cheers all.

Early thoughts about gw38 free hit, but since it's not too busy here atm, how does this squad look for the last gw?

    Gunn (HUD)
Robertson (WOL) --- Pereira (CHE) --- Laporte (bha)
Redmond (HUD) --- Son (TOT) --- Mane (WOL) --- Sterling (bha) --- Pogba (CAR)
    Aguero (bha) --- Vardy (CHE)

Hamer --- TAA (WOL) --- fodder --- fodder

If you remove matches against the bottom four, Wolves would be third in the table. (Hud, Car, Bri, Ful)
They have already wasted a lot of points against bad opponents. Can see Fulham get something here.

Very nice team, extremely similar to mine so gonna be bised hehe. Got Boruc, Eriksen, and Masina to your Foster, JWP, and Duffy, everyone else the same.
Defence is fine, mids food and forwards, logical move would be just to maybe do Foster to Guaita?
Or move Wilson on maybe. I’m unsure if to keep wilson, had enough of his trolling.

    Salah Sterling Son Jota
    Aguero Jim Long

    Subs: Foster Deulofeu Valery Duffy

    1 ft. 1.9

What do you think of this plan?

    GW37: Ryan > DDG
    GW38: Jimenez -> Rashford/Zaha

Can't see any other obvious options will optimize the team unless I take a hit to get rid of Salah, which I'm very much against, as I can field a strong XI both weeks

I'm sorry to say that there is no way Liverpool will go through, but look, there's nothing you can do about it. Many football fans and FPL players should learn something from Stoic philosophy and try not to worry too much about things over which we have no control.

Football is just a game, a nice distraction from real world problems - it shouldn't become a problem in itself. It's entertainment, not something that should be keeping you up at night. Unless you're a Liverpool player or member of staff there's nothing you can do to affect the outcome, so try to see it as it is - a form of entertainment.
