Which Spurs players are worth owning in FPL this season?

Tottenham Hotspur players are causing some Fantasy Premier League managers dilemmas at the start of the season.

They have a favourable opening fixture at home to Aston Villa but with a trip to Manchester City in Gameweek 2 and relatively expensive price points, their assets could be the ones to miss out on those initial teams.

However, there are some encouraging reasons to own some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players at the start of the new campaign.

In this article we assess Spurs’ defensive and attacking potential based on last season’s underlying statistics.

As this analysis uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the 2019/20 season can access it in full.

    When you consider Bilva’s last season he underperformed and I think he should score better this time. He was establishing himself in the side and was shafted to wing back and playing a supporting role. The season before he scored 112 points in just over 1500 minutes. Scale that up and you’re on for 200+ points a season. That’s what he should be getting playing in this city side. It’s hard to justify the extra £1.5m for De Bruyne when his proven level is just over 200 points.

      Not really sure about that. Bilva got pretty close to his xGi last year. Easier to get more points as a sub, so you cant just scale it (ref year before).

        Idk if it is always easier as a sub, sometimes it’s hard to make an impact. To be honest I’m not a member so can’t see the stats but surely relates to last year where I feel he perhaps underperformed in fantasy terms as he was establishing himself in the XI

      Not a fan of Firmino (switch to Wilson or Vardy) or 2x 4.0m defenders. I think Jota will underperform due to Europa League. Otherwise I quite like it.

      Contrary opinion, I like it a lot. I have 2 4m defs, Martial and Firmino. Think Firmino and the double pool attack is a good choice with good early fixtures and can easily switch to Vardy, Kean, Abraham or Lacazette
