The key FPL statistics ahead of Double Gameweek 27

The two-time FPL champion of India, Lateriser, returns with a stat attack ahead of the weekend.

A lot of football has been played of late and it’s almost impossible for Fantasy Premier League managers to keep track of things when they are moving at such a fast pace.

So, I thought this would be a good time to look at some trends and statistics that have caught my eye in the Premium Members Area over the last few Gameweeks. It is worth noting that I’m writing this article on Wednesday morning after Manchester City clinched a late win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, so the statistics I cite will include data up to this point.

What is FPL Upside Chasing and how can I implement it in 2020/21?

    Would you do :
    Ings and Bruno to
    Kane and lingard (-4)

I wouldn't take out Ings before DGW

      Apperance points are huge

I'm not a fan of him as a pick at that price, but this week he's great even if you assume 2 points vs City (which you shouldn't)

I quite like the move which covers 29. Ings ceiling in 27 is low compared to Kane against Palace. I like Lingard for 27 and 29.

    2. Watkins -> Antonio.

    Martinez.
    Shaw, Cancelo, Stones.
    Salah, Bruno, Son, Gundo.
    Kane, Watkins, Bamford.
    Areola, Raphinha, Dallas, Burn.

Only if you rate Villa attack against Spurs - otherwise there are plenty in there already - 7 in already. Only missing Cresswell as key player unless you think Grealish plays and there are 2 weeks to get them in

I quite like Antonio but his fitness is an issue. Could be fine for the Leeds but out in 29 which is then another transfer to reverse back to Watkins

Really helpful article. My daughter entered the room and said hello. I replied with a hello while reading the article. She walked 7 steps towards me. And now I am absolutely free to have a conversation with her after having read it twice and absorbing it really well within that time.

    Martinez
    Dias* Stones Lowton
    Salah Son Gundo Bruno Raph
    DCL Kane
    (Bamford Shaw Struijk Pickford)

    1ft and 0.3 itb

G2g or use the FT (thinking Lowton's time in my team is up)?

    Afternoon all
I’m using FT to get me to GW29 and have WC for 31 (probably). Currently at c. 48k OR

    A) Roll FT and sit on the Barnes decision
    B) Barnes > Lingard/ Jota (FT)
    C) Barnes, Pope > Son/ Bale, Forster (-4)
    D) Barnes, Bruno > Son, Bale (-4)
    E) Something else!

    1FT 1.3itb
    Martinez
    Dias, Stones, Shaw
    Salah, Bruno, Gundo, Raphinha
    Kane, DCL, Bamford
    (Pope) (Dallas, Coufal, Barnes*)

    Cheers!

I'd probably go B and choose Lingard over Jota if you are looking to cover 29. You have enough on bench to make up for the fact that Lingard misses 28.

      1. Don Kloppeone
        • 6 Years

Thanks - you don't think risky having no Son/ Bale as they look in good and creative form?

    3. pingissimus
      • 5 Years
      3 years, 2 months ago

D is the fun move of course.

Don't see Palace will give Spurs anything like the space Burnley did. They'll sit well back off course but the full backs will be playing as full backs and not wing backs. There'll be loads of chances but Spurs will actually need to work them for themselves and not be gifted them. Zaha back - probably - also improves Palace defence likely as there'll be an outball. See a 2-0 sort of result more than the 4-0.

If you go C not sure I wouldn't get Sanchez - if you can stretch that far, Villa have not been great against top 6 (and ;its include Spurs) and double attack against `Martinez is weak in 29. Sanchez is the keeper with the fixture - as he is in 33.

      1. Don Kloppeone
        • 6 Years
        3 years, 2 months ago

Cheers Pingi - your usual detailed and useful response!

I put D in there but I think it may be a step too far as > £9m for a rotation risk is a lot in Bale....

I would love to get Sanchez in C but my budget is £4.2m for a GK unless I take an additional hit - such as Shaw/ Coufal > ?

We only have 2 players different in our teams. Weird how similar it can be! Maybe lingard for Barnes and see how Jota looks to potentially bring in later

Haha thanks mate - I'm pretty sure my template rating was 86% this GW so doesn't surprise me!

    Salah or Bruno to KDB?

People seem to be selling Bruno because of fixtures, but he's the top scorer in the game & arguably fixture-proof. Salah is out of form in an underperforming Liverpool side.

Surely Salah is the one to make way?

    1. Patson Dabaka
      • 8 Years

Look at Bruno's scores against big clubs though. Clearly not fixture proof.

The first one you'd definitively want him back for is 33 - where Salah also looks good. The swap for a hit from Kane or straight from KdB looks simple enough.

          (Torn on which to lose)

    2. Tinfoil Deathstar
      • 3 Years

I'm not sure we can say Bruno is 'fixture-proof' given he has clearly struggled for returns against bigger sides. I'm keeping personally as not convinced the likes of KdB/Auba have done anywhere near enough to warrant switching to atm.

    3. Blanka
      • 9 Years

Been planning Bruno out for KDB this week. Bruno is grating on lots of managers due to the fact you don't gain anything by having him due to his EO. I'm willing to take the risk that Bruno will likely blank for the short forseaable (fingers crossed) and make extra gains with a differential in KDB - an FPL elite.

Think it's quality over quantity that counts here

I'm currently sitting on double Villa defence - neither of whom I like that week at all and it negates Spurs attack value to boot.

Could get 11 out but may settle for 8

I'm a Saints fan and I was surprised to see McCarthy dropped this week. Forster is very poor with his feet and the way we distribute the ball from defence to break the oppositions lines was key to our early season good form. Not sure I'd bank on Forster being in long-term.

No worries. He has improved his distribution but it was starting at a pretty low base. If you are going him for as back-up GK over a 3.9 then it makes sense, but would be a bit worried if using as your normal keeper.

Just been looking at Martinez returns this season

top 8 (adding in West Ham, Leicester and Everton and deleting Arsenal) = 1 cs from 8 so far if I'm calculating correctly.

Decent argument to find another keeper for 29? Considering getting Sanchez in as one of my FTs as a playing makeweight. It feels risky but the Martinez returns have so far been remarkably predictable.

      Double checked

      1 cs from 8 against top 8
13 cs from 17 against rest

Only Arsenal as a potential top 8 club skews the equation

I’ve got exact money to do
    Barnes + DCL > Bale + Antonio

No chips left so it’s working towards gw29... good moves or asking for trouble? (as their both injury prone).
Would rather have Son but if Bale starts tomorrow and get subbed off early second half, it would fill me with a bit more confidence.

Good moves. Wait for possible DGW28 for Everton news till Thursday/Friday I guess.

Bale too risky until you see him start 3 league games in a row

If you're removing Bruno, at least go for a nailed player like KdB/Son

Jose Mourinho on whether Gareth Bale can cope with the short turnaround ahead of the Fulham game: "I believe so. Start the game, being on the bench, I don't know. We have to decide. Good reaction, good recovery sessions and he will be involved."

If you want Lingard/think he's the best pick, go for it now. If DCL is your 8th attacker, you can cover Lingard's "blank" in GW28 with him.

I only have WC left and am thinking of using it this GW to shuffle the pack. I can move to City nailed players for the double (Ederson, Dias, KDB) and I would have enough players for GW29 also.

Any objections to a WC now?

Depends on how many players you have as of now for BGW29. If you have enough to field 9/10 players with a couple transfers, hold the chip until 30/31 I guess. If not, any times as good as any other imo.

either way i have enough, is there any real advantages of holding til 30/31?

Think there's a double in 32 and a blank in 33. Could come in handy.

I think it’s a little easier to dead end into 30/31 with Leeds and Villa players. Then refresh out of it.

Leeds players are all season keepers though? Villa have been great too. Thanks for the advice but not convinced 🙂

Why would he be? He’s been fantastic for them.

I agree, just all the predicted lineups have him benched
