Captain Sensible

Who is the best FPL captain for Blank Gameweek 36?

Despite four teams missing out on Blank Gameweek 36, there are still plenty of options for the latest Fantasy Premier League captaincy decision.

Harry Kane (£11.8m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) jointly lead the Golden Boot race and, with three fixtures remaining for both, they are among the favourites to find the net this weekend.

But is there some potential ground to make up with some outside candidates? With Manchester City now likely to play a more regular starting XI, should we consider their assets for the armband? Do Everton strikers appeal against a leaky Sheffield United defence?

As always, the Captain Sensible article is here to help you with this week’s captaincy conundrum. As this includes extensive data from the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Members Area, only those with a valid subscription can access it in full.

CAPTAIN POLL

As expected, the two main Golden Boot candidates are leading the captaincy poll ahead of Blank Gameweek 36. So far, Liverpool’s Salah has been handed over 35.6% of total votes by our users.

Second-placed Kane has received just above 20.3% of votes ahead of his home match against Wolves.

The top five is closed by some familiar names, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m, 8.8%), Riyad Mahrez (£8.0m, 4.4%) and Ilkay Gundogan (£5.6m, 3.7%).

Seeing a few teams with Mahrez, is there anything suggesting he's any safer from pep roulette than anyone else other than he hasn't played in the last 2?

I guess people who have him /bringing him in are targeting the Newcastle game then anything over and above is a bonus. Or help be shipped out before end of season for a safer starter.

I'm only asking as I'm considering some differentials and he's now on my radar.

    Thanks.

Thinks it’s because of the rotation last week

Obviously you cannot predict pep roulette, but Mahrez has barely played, when he has he has been on fire. Ramadan has also just finished which he was so celebrating.

If pep benches him again, he risks even losing his momentum. I think him and Foden play this week!

Well, he played in the UCL. Now there's no UCL or other midweek to worry about, and next game isn't untill 18th, so keeping Mahrez fresh will likely be important for Pep.

Toying with bringing in Gündo and Foden for a -8 myself.

Gündo, Foden & Mahrez did not start in the FA cup loss against Chelsea, and they did not start in the loss in PL last GW.
Add in the fact, that they seem more nailed to play in the final than Kun, Jesus, Sterling and so on.
Think they need a streak of CSs, won games & goals combined with the first team for the final having some minutes in their legs before the match.

Could hammer Newcastle, Brighton and Everton (and Foden, Gündogan and Mahrez could all be very good differentials for the run in)

Normally I'd agree but just have a feeling with Bales home form and it being a 1 week punt, i need to catch up in ML so may be worth a shout, the .4 or whatever it is comes in handy but i'll keep slicing and dicing

I was planning going keeperless for this week but it now looks like Mendy will be rotated as well as Forster.
Tempted to bring in a playing keeper this week and take a hit.
If I don't I could be left with the same dilemma next week. If I do it now it should only cost me -2 as I can expect 2 points.....

1FT £0.2m Currently only have 9 starters with Veltman out and I'm worried about Jota being benched. Would probably rather lose Leicester than Man U players given remaining fixtures.

    A) Bruno + Greenwood > Salah(c) + Raphinha (-4)

    Cresswell about Rice:

"He has a massive future ahead of him, it's great he is a part of our team and hopefully, we have got him back for this weekend and hopefully, he can kick on and go to the Euro's as well."
