FPL Gameweek 19 Scout Picks: City triple-up against injury-hit Leicester

We have chosen our best Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players for Gameweek 19 ahead of Sunday’s 13:30 GMT deadline.

We’re already three fixtures down for the Boxing Day matches, with the postponement of Liverpool v Leeds United depriving us of the services of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.3m) for the first time in a while.

We have gone for a 4-5-1 formation this week and, as ever, we are limited to an £83.0m budget for our starting XI.

Our four substitutes, meanwhile, are chosen from the budget/mid-price crop of players to give some potentially cost-effective alternatives to the big hitters who invariably make the initial cut.

GOALKEEPER

Norwich City are the division’s lowest scorers with a paltry eight goals in 17 matches and even the change in head coach hasn’t really addressed that weakness, with Dean Smith’s side finding the net on just one occasion in the last five league fixtures. A Covid outbreak isn’t likely to do the Canaries’ preparations any good, either, so Aaron Ramsdale (£5.1m) wasn’t a difficult pick this week. As well as the opposition, he is also in on his own merit: he has the highest points-per-match average (5.1) of any first-choice goalkeeper this season and has prevented more ‘expected goals’ (4.2) than any other shot-stopper bar Jose Sa.

    Going to only put out 10players this week. Dennis, Jota, TAA and Salah all blank but all have good fixtures in short term.

        I had the same 4 as well. Trent and Jota are keepers for me, Mo I'm not sure about yet, but I cashed in Dennis. He might have decent fixtures but he's not around for many of them. I bought him early at 5, sold at 5.5, and I'm sure he'll come back down close to that over the next half dozen GWs.
        I expect Mo to drop 0.2/0.3 over time as well

            Currently on a 4-5-1 with CR7 up front & Wilson (soon to be DCL) as backup. Broja is like Dennis was at the start - the cheapest starting forward to sit on the bench.

    Lads if we make transfers now before price changes, then FH following more postponements for example will it bank those price changes so they're still affordable?

    I know the team will eventually revert back to what it was previous GW but I can't afford Son & Lacazette come tomorrow

    What do you guys think of the strategy of targeting teams with multiple games in hand, despite not knowing exactly when DGWs will come?

    I’m on a wildcard and even tho I have 2 free hit chips, I’m plan on targeting Spurs et al because they will presumably have more likelihood of a DGW sooner than other teams.

    No replies so just seeking opinions here guys.

    Still undecided, but eaning more towards FH, so desperatley need opinions which to go for here pretty please.

    I realise there's a lot here, but need ya help!

    My non FH team as it is now:

    That's 9 out but doubts over ESR, Foden & Antonio without even a decent captain choice.
    The onlly thig i could consider here is Salah to Son or something like a -8 to get Ronaldo also losing Bilva in the process.

    FH team would cover a lot of cracks, and that's as follows:

    Tierney - James - Cancelo - Dias
    Bowen - Mahrez - Son - Martinelli
    Kane - Ronaldo

    Decent bench also to cover any absences.

      In my very strong opinion (and this is before any more postponements), your team looks very well set this week. If you're willing to lose Salah, then just decide whether you want Son or Ronaldo and I think you'll do fine.

    Utterly confused about what to do this GW. Can't be the only one! Two main questions...

    To free hit or not free hit?
    To sell Salah or not sell Salah?

    I'd much rather be attacking double GWs with the free hit but will I be forced into it? And do I sell Salah now to maximise the profit made on him knowing he won't be playing in 3 or 5 GWs? Or do I keep him, losing some profit but not needing to transfer him back in. But if I keep him then I won't be able to get 11 out this week as I don't want to sell TAA, Jota or Raphinha...

    And everyone keeps on interrupting me to talk about Christmas! But I'd like to decide tonight in case i want to catch Son and Martinelli's price rises...
