Double Gameweek 22 Confirmed

Chelsea’s 5-1 hammering of Southampton at St Mary’s earlier today ensured Fantasy managers now have a double Gameweek 22 on our agendas. The win, which saw Demba Ba score twice on his Blues debut, now gives up back-to-back doubles to plan for, with winter wildcards likely to be wielded in substantial numbers ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Chelsea face a tricky trip to Stoke on Saturday January 12, while Southampton are also on their travels – Nigel Adkins’ side make their way to Villa Park before rolling up to Stamford Bridge the following Wednesday evening.

Bearing in mind Arsenal and West Ham both have a double the following week, there’s plenty to consider as we reassess our squads in light of today’s results. We’ll be rolling out “Scouting the Doubles” articles on Chelsea and Southampton over the next few days, with similar pieces on the Gunners and Hammers the following week.

As a result of today’s news, we shall reset the Captain Poll, affording you the opportunity to select your likely armband contenders, with Ba, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard all likely to receive significant investment, given the ease with which Rafa Benitez’s side eased past the Saints. We shall also readjust the Season Ticker to reflect the change in fixture schedule – for now, though, this is just a heads-up post in the off chance you somehow missed this afternoon’s turn of events.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Knowing Rafa Rotation, do we expect Ba to play both games? I assume he will play Torres in 1 and Ba in 1, despite Ba being 100x better…

That said, who’s getting in Ba for the double?

"The Arsenal vs West Ham game will definitely happen in GW23.

If neither side qualifies for the next round of the FA Cup they can move the game to the weekend of 26th if the sides so please …which will still be in GW23."

or would you hit th button, and what changes to make (Michu stays)

    Foster, Migs

    Rafa, Gibbs, Clyne, Shorey, O'Brien

    Fellaini, Michu, Mata, Walcott, Bale

    RvP, Berba, Cole

I think I have found a way to avoid using my WC….
    Gw22: cueller + fellaini + Suarez >> Ivan + hazard + lambert…8 point hit
Gw23: Rafael + sterling >> sagna + Nolan…..4 point hit (already have Walcott and demel)

    So a 12 point hit will give me 3 and 4 Dgw players >>> using a WC…right??

Plus I don’t mind taking Suarez out knowing I can bring him in when I use my WC..

Any chance someone could resolve the position re: whether Arsenal/WHU definitely have a DGW?

I know umpteen people have asked. Anyone able to comment with supporting logic?

    thanks

Lambert was rested today almost guaranteed full mins of both games. is it really worth the risk of paying the extra for BA... Roman already sacked his last manager for not playing his 'boytoy torres' enough?

      +1
Stoke are excellent defensively and Southampton aren't as bad as people are making out.

They can go really well or go tits up. So it's really up to the individual whether they want to gamble on a big score or not get too involved. If you do want to take the gamble you need to give it some proper thought as to who you bring in.

+1 kind of a gree, I really dont like the punts on BA or Turnbull as you need to live with that team later on and spending another WC to clean up is BS

Did anyone else have their mind made up on getting Bale....and then this bloody DGW came along.

The trouble is, I can see Bale out scoring all the Chelsea players bar Mata & perhaps Ba if he gets the minutes.

Tough choice, but I'll probably end up sacking off Bale and going DGW players now
